Exit Gate (99% status)
I understand and have seen some clever use of putting a generator to 99% or healing to 99% based on perks/builds and I understand why people put gates at 99% (gives more time to save survivor, not trigger certain perks, or more time to troll even)
It just bums me out the gates don't regress a decent speed if let go. Mainly because two killer perks that are questionable useful already have so much less value, and its such an easy tactic to extend the game (and usually only in survivor favor)
maybe this was different in the past, but I'd like to see the gates regress at a moderate pace when let go. (sure sometimes the killer scares someone away) but it would be nice to still see some regression in that scenario.
That is my Ted talk

I would love to see it as a perk.

It makes sense that players shouldn't be allowed to abuse the gate opening mechanics to stall out the EGC, but 99%'ing the gates isn't exactly a major issue imho.
Survivors would instead just pop the gate immediately, and they'd still have ample time to save anyone that gets down/hooked despite the EGC timer since the timer is actually very long. I've had killer games where I went from 2 hooks to 12 from the time the EGC started until it ended, and games as survivor where we got 3+ unhooks and got out.
So imo, changing the gate mechanics so it regresses would mean that people just pop the gate. Since there's so much time in the EGC anyway, popping the gate vs 99%'ing the gate truthfully makes almost no difference in the out come of a match.

If that effect applied to Remember Me that would be neat

Yeah...no. Egc isn't meant to be a pressure tool for killers. You can open the gate yourself. If you want to use bloodwarden open the gate yourself.

devs said they tested regressing exit gates and it didnt work out well.

Before the EGC people would open the gates and bully the killer because they knew they could get to the exit before being downed. They knew they were safe. That attitude still exists in the game. The survivors 99% a gate then they just have to touch it to get out. IMO the gates should regress if no one is touching them. Not by a lot but enough so you can't run up to it, touch it and DH through the killer to get out. Enough time that it takes you 1-2 seconds of staying on it to open them.
If every killer takes Kote's advice and "Plays something else" who are you going to play against? Or did you think that far ahead? The devs can only pump out so much content before running out of new players to throw into the meat grinder.

You know that the EGC was not make to help the killers
It was make survival stop tbagging for 15 minutes in the gates

Yeah cuz now they can only do it for 2 minutes. Killer BM such as mori spam was removed, but survivor BM remains untouched.

It is stupid that the gates can be 99d with no risk. The endgame collapse should start as soon as the last gen is done, and the timer should be cut in half.

Open it yourself then. That's all you have to do. 99ing the gate makes the game much more interesting. A gate shouldn't regress. If you're so worried about it then just open it or stand in front of it. This isnt an issue at all.

Ok what do you wants to do to remove survival BM, dont let them crounch
And 2 what this have to add in the discussion about gates

I just am bummed that 2 of the killer perks, which seem neat (block gates, etc) aren't even useable because of the 99% the gates. It is an issue (not a huge one) and some have commented as well some type of change would be nice. I wouldn't call this a top 5 concern, but this mechanic could be improved.
