MacMillan Estate Killer or Survivor Sided

With the new update to Macmillan Estate would you say it's a Killer sided map now, or Survivor sided map?

For the most part, I don't feel like map balance has changed a crazy amount with the visual update (which is probably good, I guess).

Coal Tower: Was pretty balanced, still feels pretty balanced. Not sure if the breakable walls on the namesake structure bother me yet or not.

Ironworks of Misery: Was survivor sided, became more balanced when the God-Window changes happened, now feels slightly killer-sided due to certain breakable walls in the Factory (not biased to a degree that feels unfair though).

Groaning Storehouse: Same as Ironworks for the most part (a little survivor sided -> more balanced w/ God-Window nerfs before this latest update). Only map I haven't gotten to play since its update. The new God Window worries me, but I guess the storehouse did lose some pallets.

Suffocation Pit: Was very survivor-sided due to size, an incredible God-Window, and that crazy mid-section. Still feels survivor sided, but maybe not as badly as before (seems to allow killers to cheese gen control a little due to its layout, like with Azarov's).

Shelter Woods: Was (usually) killer-sided due to the sheer lack of just about anything for the survivors to work with. Pretty much nothing has changed except that it's easier to follow scratchmarks through the new grass, which makes stealth even harder. So probably still a very killer-sided map unless your team gets lucky with maze tile spawns. THIS is the map that I'm sad didn't receive a redesign to its actual layout, as I feel like it deserves one.

These are all just my current opinions/observations though, so take 'em with a grain of salt.

Meh, the breakable walls can really mean something in mid game, possibly between the difference of a win or loss. Here's my take:

Ironworks: 100% survivor sided. Semi infinite pallet if the main door is broken which can sometimes be required to catch a survivor or to have better mobility around the building. God window upstairs until you break the door which is the most absurd breakable wall in the game IMO.

Groaning Storehouse: More survivor sided, the window in the main building near one of the exits still exists which is a pretty absurd window if you play it right. Breakable wall at the main window is absurd and can cost some time. Not as survivor sided as ironworks as some of the main pallets are gone and it's pretty easy to create deadzones and 3 gen on the map.

Suffocation Pit: Still has like 7 chained Jungle gyms in the centre so still one of the most survivor sided maps in the game. Plus it's massive and incredibly easy for the survivors to split gens.

Shelter: Pretty big but it comes down to your RNG. If you get a bunch of TL walls it's killer sided but if you get a bunch of Long walls it's survivor sided. Plus, not many gens spawn close to the centre so getting a 3 gen is hard. Easily the most balanced MacMillian map currently.

Coal tower: Still haven't fixed the semi infinite window (instead they buffed it????), but the map size and gen locations save it. Wall at the main building downstairs is alright, you would need to break it depending on your situation. Overall a little survivor sided now but still a map I enjoy getting.

I much prefer the old versions tbh, they were the peak of actual good map design aside from Suffo pit.

I'd say survivor-sided until certain breakable walls are broken. I'll never understand why BHVR decided to give god loops back to survivors by blocking doorways that was previously open up due to being god loops before.

Groaning storehouse has a literal infinite, even if you break the wall.

That alone makes the map survivor sided (they killed coal tower and all the others because of the stupid breakable walls).

    Survivor-sided overall.

Suffocation Pit still has a bunch of jungle gyms and T/L walls together in the middle of the map.

Shelter Woods can go either way depending on tile spawns.

Coal Tower, Ironworks, and Storehouse have breakable walls that need to broken unless you want to deal with god loops. Who the hell thought this was a good idea?

Storehouse has an actual infinite even if you break the wall? I thought it needed the wall. Can you go into more detail please?

Yeah, you literally can't catch up on the main building.

I don't have any specific clips of it, but I know it exists.

@GoodBoyKaru Will tell you about it, and he has video evidence.

The maps are all way too small in my opinion. Killer sided each and every one of them. The only exception is probably Lerys memorial institute. Too many dead zones on small maps. They really make it too easy for killers. I’m not saying this because i only think one sided about this game. It’s just facts. You can’t argue that any of these maps aren’t too small for how fast these killers are. Survivors at least need better hiding places. More bushes and maybe something else besides a locker like a closet if you’re in a house or Under the bed. Make the killer actually have to look in less obvious places. Right now it’s like “oh someone was working on this gen. Oh there’s one locker In this entire area let me open it. Surprise! You’re hooked”

They r all pretty balanced now i gotta say. Yea some might be slightly better for one side but for the most part pretty even.

No video evidence yet because I haven't actually had someone ran on it completely (and I drop chase whenever someone goes here now) but my record is 6 times through the window before a killer left me, with the wall broken. They weren't in chase and couldn't catch me, at all. The game I think MusicNerd is talking about was on-stream yesterday, it was a Pig on Storehouse who knew she couldn't catch me there and so dropped chase. She was incredibly good otherwise and caught me out at a usually safe pallet, so extreme props to her.

Some of the walls make the specific loop they are at far more survivor sided, but in general they are still a very balanced set of maps. The RNG dictates the advantage more than anything.

Assuming this is using shift tech? Old storehouse (as in the one from a week ago) had a shift tech literal infinite too

Neither. The breakable Walls are also mostly fine, because the Main Buildings only got a little bit stronger. Like, Coal Tower did not need a Rework at all a few months ago, still they made the Tower very unsafe, they made it a bit stronger with the Walls again. At least downstairs, the upstairs-Walls dont make sense.

The only Map where the Breakable Wall does not make sense is Storehouse, since they removed the Pallets inside (which were playable as Killer) and added a mandatory breakable Wall instead. So with the Wall, it is a God Loop, without the Wall, it is really weak.

I think that the Devs know that Breakable Wall are a bad concept, but they dont want to step away from it.

No, this is me holding W and then looking back to ensure I don't get counter-rotated.

haha the most biased bs, coal tower is killer sided due to it being the smallest open map in dbd,

Shelter woods is obviously killer sided, even if you got long walls, it's still isn't enough for a 4 survivors

groaning storehouse is only survivor sided if you don't break the walls,

ironworks isn't 100% survivor sided, you can easily 3 gen.

All of the new maps are physically bigger, bigger maps are always survivor sided.
