The game has spaghetti code because the devs cant stop thinking about food because they cant afford any!!

It's not accepting. If no-one buys their products because they are not a fan of the system, then they will go oh it seems this event idea wasn't popular. You also gotta remember its not as if the devs consistently do this stuff. So far it's a once off. If it gets worse then yes sure go ahead and complain but you gotta remember nothigns been easy this year, and I feel like ppl should honestly just give the devs a break from the constant harrasment.

What is amazing to me is how many people either were not around or completely ignore how the forum blew up last year when we had the serum event. People were going to quit playing because it made the game so horrible. Nobody did gens and just rushed to collect serum and it made the game unplayable blah blah blah. I wouldn't blame bhvr at all for never trying to do any event again. Nobody is ever happy lol.

That was two years ago. Last year was collecting serum via the rift, which wasn't massively interesting but still better than this.

Do you think this time they'll at least put in enough effort to copy and paste festive themed hooks, barrels and lockers? I might be asking for too much, though.

Meh, It's the same thing different situation. In a few weeks players will go back to normal and any new content will continue to be heavily monetized.
Just like when the rift came out people were very upset they added a battlepass into a pay to play game but now it's just accepted, so much so that the devs thought it a great idea to tie events to it last year and double down further on the monetization this year.

Exactly. They don't need to do damage control when the forum goers are doing it for them. Everything stays the same, the status quo remains. It's astounding people are okay with this.

Gullible people will always enable crappy moves from big companies. It's the sad truth, and it's how they get away with so much.
That and people let things go. They ignore slights without demanding that things be made right, and they accept whatever weak apology is offered, without fighting for more.
And so we're stuck in a cycle of them slowly twisting our arms further and further.

Dead by Daylight (BHVR) is NOT a indy company anymore. They grossed well over $113 million last year (COULD BE DIFFERENT NOW.) However they went ahead anyway to cover costs in other areas. I dare not say what areas however because this will probs be banned aswel. Gotta be careful with your opinions on here if it goes against there beliefs.

The killer addon is a seasonal addon, meaning after the event, you cant use it. Unlike the survivor addons.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion around here but I think this event is fine, it's more of the game I already love playing with a few extra rewards thrown on top with some really nice free skins (legion rift skin looks doooope) and I will continue to support the game I've got over 300 hours in and will have many more. In going to buy the rift pass the first chance I get because I want the skins for it and play enough to max it out so it's basically free, and but any skins I like the look of. You call all moan and whine about every little thing they do but I'll be here having fun until the servers shut down

I mean they said a while back they wouldn't do event with special mission anymore, so i don't really know why people are so surprised and attack them for it... Yes i loved the old halloween event with the serum and everything but most games back then were all about farming the serum, people are already doing nothing but during those events, playing solo survivor or killer was really really boring and unfun.
We still get 10K shards so we can get a free full cosmetic without having to do anything but open the game, while when the event was with serum we had to "work" for it and get 2 full cosmetics or 6 parts.
I bought the Yui top and bottom parts and will keep the rest of my shards for the next Zarina shard skin (probably getting an ungly sweater this year ?)

That was my point. The survivors dont really gain that much advantage with their addons, they never did. The killer being able to burst a large distance is extremely advantageous. Therefor, the killer addon IS the event mechanic, where the survivor addon is simply just an addon.
I mean, even the speed boost addon requires you be injured in the first place and consumes the entire item(even though it doesnt say it will consume the item) while leaving a clear trail behind to where they are running, even if they are walking. Making it easier to track for killers. The killer addon allows you to cut off a significant distance with minor drawback. Cutting off survivors is the strongest killer mechanic in a chase, being able to cut off survivors even harder for essentially free reduces the chase massively.
Normally survivors gained a secondary objective for the event to slow down games for survivors, now there is an addon that speeds up games for killers. Essentially having a similar effect on how those games go. Having that addon available all year would require the devs to overhaul survivor basic abilities, while the survivor addons literally dont do anything significant that perks cannot already do.

Oh, yes, I remember previous blight event, when survivors practically ignored theirs tasks for the sake of sucking that serum out of plants to die after with 0 gens done. It would be engaging and interesting if it wasn't a complete waste of time. So, please don't do that again.
