There should be a penalty for killer campers!

Im sure this has been said before but (I’m new here) I cannot get past rank 7 due to camping killers! Anyone else think there should be a penalty? It maybe make it to where a killer can’t go near a hook once someone is placed, idk I’m not the dev team but this is taking 100% of the fun out of DbD I’m all for a good killer but when someone like the hag or doctor just sits within striking distance it’s not fun anymore, and I know they are losing out on BP but that’s it.

use kindred, it gives information that much powerful than you expect. if it becomes too difficult to rescue hooked survivors, leave them. while camping, as long as survivors do not feed the camping killer, the killer loses his momentum.

if the killer chases you, lead him away from the hooked person.

if playing against hag, crouch while walking around hooked person. watches where the hag put her trap and avoid it if you can.

overall, I suggest using spine chill and avoid chases if you can.

There is a penalty. If the killer face camps a hook you can just go do gens. Face camping is the killer throwing the entire match for a single kill. The punishment is de pipping and getting almost zero blood points. The ONLY way a killer can be rewarded is if the survivors reward them by throwing themselves at the hook before doing gens.

Camping itself is a penalty lol. It might keep you at a certain rank but generally you aren't doing much to progress yourself. I also think it is funny how people who complain about this the most tend to be the people who rage quit to buff this playstyle.

Do you know that horror film where the killer just leaves his prey and let everyone escape?

    Me neither.

Besides...camping is a punishment itself. But killers have to kill. How they do it is up to them. If they do it strategically smart they will win and be rewarded. If they do it with extreme camping/tunneling they will get punished for it by getting less points and depipping.

Killers who want to improve at the game and want to play regulary will stop with unsuccessfull methods eventually when they gain more experience. The rest are just toxic people and you can't really do anything about them. Not on the killer side, nor on the survivor side. Just move on after the game. Not every game will give you a facecamping Bubba.

And yeah...these people want to destroy your fun in the game. But it's your decision if they are successfull with it or not ;)

There is no right or wrong way to kill people in this game. There is only a less rewarding/less fun way and a more rewarding/more fun way. But everyone should have the free will to decide how they want to play. Adding limitations will only cause frustration and we already have plenty enough of that in the game.

I would rather reward the survivor for keeping the killer busy than penalizing the killer. It's not fun and nobody likes it, but sometimes you just have to get that Object out of the game.

    Use breakdown

I guess they could introduce a small speed boost to gen repairs while the killer is hanging around a hooked survivor with no other survivors in the vicinity. Nothing too much, just enough to discourage the tactic.

Nice that the comments says that one trashy E tier perk (breakdown) can counter a camper who could just get the survivor to another hook...

And no camping itself is not a penalty, because we play games for fun, not to be camped by sweaty russian kids...

But alot of people don't see a problem with it!?

The killers play the game for fun, too. Unfortunately, the path to fun for the survivors and the killers are two different directions- like two cars destined for a head-on collision. As a killer main, I can only tolerate so many 0k games and toxic survs before I resort to devious means to get my kills.

I know, after a lot of bad games I turn into a toxic ######### with 4 meta's and purple flashlight, I'm I ashamed of it? Maybe

    There are penalties for camping.

You lose points - play as a killer and check your badges at the end. Standing next to a hook gets you dinged even if you're only there for a second or so. That -3 can mean the difference between iri and gold.

You have to spend your game being bored watching some dangling fish instead of actually playing the game.

If the other survivors come to get the hooked one you have to waste time swatting away the flies.

Mean while you're doing this the other survivors are doing gens, popping boxes, disarming craps and peeing on your hex totems... you know .....actually winning.

You have to listen to them whining in post game chat about how you're a toxic camper

Camping isn't fun and isn't good strategy.....and as you play more games as killer you realize this.

If the biggest problems you’re having have to do with being downed and stuck on the hook, find a way to incorporate some perks to help in those particular situations. Breakdown can be extremely useful to help keep survivors from being hooked immediately after an unhook.

Camping is pretty annoying but it also means you’re team can get a lot done because the killer is staying in one place and I have to say sometimes camping is a good strategy when there might me only one other survivor left

lol i love these posts. SOMEONE has to lose.

The key area of concern in the opening statement is that YOU are stuck in a rank BECAUSE of camping killers.

But what are YOU doing wrong? Playing survivor, you get a PIP just for logging on for the day and that is why everyone seems so boosted at high ranks. To be honest, rank 7-5 are the funnest ranks - you can afford to have fun on both sides and run perks for many different play styles.

Tunneling and camping comes at a cost to killers, some do it better than others. The loading screen literally says that the primary objective of killers is to kill, nothing about generators despite how the game really works.

I have nothing against killers who camp once all gens are done or doors are open, they literally have live bait and if you want it, go get it. Survivors need to start to realise that they PIP easily even when they die because that side of the game is based on merit/contribution.
