Take actions on quitters

Hi,

I've been playing this game for a couple of weeks now and I'm generally very entertained, but there is no doubt that this game has serious issues with people quitting. I'm not talking about crashes or random disconnects, but about people who obviously rage-quits midway through a game because they suck as a killer. Survivors do it too from time to time if they get hooked very fast etc. and leave they're teammates in a mess, but with killers it sucks more since you gain zero bloodpoints for the game and loose all of your add-ons and offerings. You could at least let players have they're offerings/add-ons back and give them the bloodpoints they've spent the last fifteen minutes earning.

You can't stop people on the internet being dicks, but you can take actions to at least prevent some of them from playing with us that actually wants to have fun and doesn't act like a #########. :-)

But to the case, how about a three strikes (out of lets say 50 games total) and you're out system for quitters? Not permanently of course, but perhaps for a couple of weeks so people can cool down and grow up a little. Perhaps that would at least lessen the problem slightly.

That is simply my suggestion, if anyone has a better idea about what to do with quitters I'm all ears.

Regards!

There are many posts about this, just look them up. Some of these suggest quite decisive measures, like you do. I agree btw.

To be fair, i disconnected as a killer once. I was a lvl 13 or so killer, and did quite bad. So the survivors stopped doing gens and just came after me. the flogged around me, evaded my hits or where healed the moment after, bodyblocked if you managed to down one, and so forth. They were way over my skilllevel. And thats simply what a lot of swf-groups do. you have a group of 1 lvl 14 player, and 3 lvl 3+, taking advantage of inexperienced killers and harress them instead of playing (and just finishing) the game.

Give killers the option do not fight swf groups, then talk about punishing them for disconnecting.

@sulaiman You are describing an understandable issue, but I woud say that the normal case for killers quitting is simply because the game doesn't go as they wished, so they get angry and rage-quit even though survivors just played totally normal.

Of course there are situations where quitting is 100% understandable. I had a game the other day where one survivor was disconnected before the game started and another one disconnected ten seconds into the game. In that game I threw in the towel as well, no need for all of us to spend any effort on such a match.

When I'm talking about offenses that should be punishes, I am talking about survivors leaving their team behind because they're found/hooked early, or killers who ragequits in a match because they can't find any survivors or cannot catch them when they do.

Jeez that sucks, I don't know why high rank people are so toxic. But they really need to fx Swf because like you said if one of them is rank 20 and the rest is rank 1, chances are they are going to get a low rank killer and bully. But you do have to understand that a lot of people are swf group, not necessarily a full group, but most people are. If killers keep dodging because it's a swf, they will never play.

If you only dodge SWF with 3 men or more, you will find a game in no time. Killer queues are always faster at mediumish ranks, so that shouldnt be a problem if you want to lobby dodge

I just feel like if the Killers can get a Quitters Bonus then Survivors should too. I play both Killer and Survivor and have had both quit before. So I think everyone should get bonuses at the end for the quitters.

Regarding this subject, I was playing as a survivor where the killer quit after roughly 30 seconds. I was granted a 5000 BP Escaped-bonus which I don't believe has happened before? Has something been changed?

I think it's been like this for a long time now, maybe you just haven't noticed. Killer quitting counts as an escape for remaining survivors ---> 5000 BP, plus whatever you gathered up until that point.

What's more important I think is that some kind of minor reward should be there for survivors who stick around after one loser ragequits.

As a killer you get a quitters bonus, and it count as a sacrifice, so you don't de-rank because of quitters (correct me if I'm wrong).
I think it would be fine for survivors to get a similar quitters bonus that would count as an unhook for the same reason.

obviously that's 3 unhooks for one guy quitting, which he wouldn't award, but overall it would probably add up to how much time he would have wasted for the killer.

Nah, I'm pretty sure actually - but maybe it depends on how they quit? I've read somewhere that there is a different between exiting a game normally and then simply closing the application from the PS4-menu.

Normally when a killer-quit happens to me it counts up all of the bloodpoints that I have gathered during the match, but in the end they are never transferred to my total BPs.

Are you on a PC? Maybe it is acting differently on PS4 - who knows. :-)

Well, there is the option to balance the swf out, by giving killers who accept swf additional benefits, like 1-2 additional perks, a bloodpoint-bonus, the need that every suvivor perk is unique in the group, and several more.

But what if i'm in a game where i'm being bullied by my 3man SWF teammates? ie: Yolo Unhooks, Bodyblocking so the killer downs/hooks me etc? Why should I stay in a toxic game like that where i got maybe 500bp then spend the rest of the game tunneled or slugged? I'm DCing and moving on to the next game. Its not about dying, its about earning points. It all boils down to the community being toxic to one another. It won't ever stop.
