Can we please have an option to not get matched against SWF?
It's funny how in the recent survey there's a question about players wanting to have selective cross platform, and there's already an option to turn off cross platform, due to players feeling disadvantaged before they even get into a match. That's good and all, but how come that logic doesn't carry over to SWF? We've been asking for a SWF disable button way before cross platform was even a concept for this game. You're disadvantaged from the get-go, and it's less fun and more stressful (for one side of course).
I'm tired of matches where my decisions and skill are meaningless up until I have to face camp someone to hopefully get a 1k. That's where the gameplay starts for killer, when it comes to SWF. Until you close the gap between solo and SWF which everyone has been asking for, killers are gonna want SWF nerfed or have a disable button for them.
At least let us disable matchmaking with 4-man teams. I can't put into words how rage inducing it is to not only deal with all the game's problems (bugs, gen speed, meta perks, bad maps), but also to deal with survivors who, in theory, will not allow you to kill even one of them if they can help it. If you need a mori or an A tier killer to make it feel like a level playing field, something is seriously wrong with the game.
As many times as I've said it, no I won't quit the game today. But I might some day, because at some point people like me are gonna overcome our love for the game, and stop playing for the sake of our own mental health. Is that worth protecting the *institution* of SWF?

Your decisions and skill are not meaningless, but it is not enough. SWF does not make players godlike all of the sudden. Most SWFs are just playing with their friends - or do you think you go against Tournament Squads all the time?
There will never be an option that Killers will not get matched against SWFs, because they would just opt-out, which leads to long Queue Times for Killers and long Queue Times for SWFs. And those SWFs who still want to play together will be sweaty enough to dodge Lobbies, meaning, you will still go against SWFs, but not against chill ones anymore.
Stop blaming your losses on SWFs.

Honestly, if you go into a game with the mentality you're going to lose, you're not going to have a fun time and you're not going to improve.
SWFs are strong, but they are definitely beatable. Focus on what is in your control.

Yes, let's just stop players from trying to play with their friends, even if they bought it only to play with friends and make them stay in lobby searching for non-existent lobby. Obviously killers will disable this feature for the sake of easy 4k.

Un-policeable cheating just pisses me off no end.
I don't give a crap about what other people bought the game for. If I choose not to go against a swf group who are all inevitably exploiting mechanics not designed for or the game and they get a massive queue in the process that's their problem. Don't cheat.
Cheaters shouldn't be rewarded with short queues for easy matches. If they want to use non balanced external programs not intended for use within the game they can damn well wait for it.

Factor in map offerings, toolboxes with BNP and all the second chance perks in the game as well as full coordination and information at all times. Sure not all SWF's are like this but at rank 1. you get a lot of them.

You dont. I play at Rank 1 as well, and I rarely see SWFs who burn a lot of stuff like that. I got one during the Double BP-Event, 4 man Console SWF (probably SWF, at least 3 of them were in an SWF, I think the 4th was as well, but I cant prove it), I was playing Hag and it was against an Object. Wasnt much fun at all, but this is like the first time in WEEKS (probable months) that I got such a group.
So from my experience, those are rare.
But you know what is not rare? Killers blaming that the Survivors were in an SWF. Got one of those two days ago, got one of those just today. "You need SWF and this Map to win"... We were all Solo and nobody used a Map Offering. Honestly, Killers blaming SWF as the only excuse for their loss happens waaaaay more often than those actual 4 man SWF Death-Squads.

Well, in my experience, I get a lot of them. I'm not saying it's okay to blame SWF every time you lose but I main Ghostface at rank 1 and check friend lists of the survivors, I get a lot of these kinds of SWF and they are more common now. Sure, maybe it's rare for you but for others that may not be the case. Not every SWF is a deathsquad but the information they have alone is enough to make any killer lose who isn't playing a top tier one.

if they did add the option to not go against swf it would ruin que times for both sides, and make the game much less enjoyable for people who just want to play with there friends.
I'd rather go against a god 4 man swf every 20 games then having 30 minutes que times everygame

If they do this then people will ask for more filters. I don't want to play against X killer. I don't want to play with people using X build. I don't want to play against people playing on this specific device, etc,etc.

Could entirely be possible. There will be differences depending on Regions and Playtime. If I play at night, I also get way more strong SWFs than I get in the Afternoon or Evening. But so far, I rarely found a really strong SWF.
Thats a good point - why should Killers be allowed to opt-out against SWFs (which are part of the game), but Survivors are forced to play against Killers like Spirit or Freddy (which are also part of the game)?
Regarding devices tho, there was a question in the Survey if you would prefer to have Crossplay only with certain platforms, so most likely asking if Console would wish to only play with players from other Consoles (so that there is an option for that). Which is understandable.

Using audio coms in a game not balanced for audio coms is the same as playing a poker game with your friends looking over the shoulder of your opponents to tell you what cards they are playing.
Just because one is policeable and the other is not doesn't make it any less cheating lol

Not every SWF team is "just friends" trying to have fun. I never get on with my friends as survivor and say "Let's just mess around this match". SWF or solo, people play to win. You can't just assume that I'm bad. And I wasn't just blaming SWF for my loss. SWF is the biggest problem among a host of problems like maps containing many unmindgameable loops.

Some are beatable, and that's under specific circumstances. Majority of the time SWF loses: they're just boosted or they threw. I don't go into matches with a losing mentality, I feel that way after the match.

There will always be killers who like to torture themselves with a 'challenge' by going against SWF. But if what you're saying is true, that killers will always want SWF turned off, doesn't that just prove my point?

The problem with that idea is that solo survivors, even with perks like Bond and Kindred, are considerably underpowered. You are basically saying you don't want to get stomped, but do the stomping. That doesn't really solve the core issue.

SWF doesn't bring map offering, BNP, and other stuff because they don't even need that stuff to win. Always knowing where the killer is, being efficient on gens, and being decent loopers is all it takes. And if you're *never* having trouble against SWF at rank 1, you're either lying or are so godlike at the game that you probably shouldn't be balancing the game for everyone else.

Not all SWF's are sweaty
Some are just talking about whatever and just playing the game
Some are maybe having a friend play the game for the first time (or haven't played in awhile)
Some are giving basic callouts... Like "killer on me" or "gen I'm on is almost done'
Some are sweaty and making better callouts
Some are duos or trios
Some were made from the lobby

No, because that's what the SWF feature is for. However people use Discord or a console party function, which is not part of the game and that counts as cheating in my book.

Then let's not add all that. Just a SWF disabler. It's won't stop you from facing godlike survivors. You just won't have to deal with a team of them that even some of the best killers can't beat.

Unfortunately, just about every time I lose it is to a SWF team. However, I personally think that the problem is reversed: If that's what was in the trial when I lose, then it means it's absence lead to my victories. If a team has to have a 3-4 person group with strong co-ordinated perks to win against an average (at best) killer, then there's the problem.

If Bond and Kindred were basekit, survivors could be easily nerfed or buffed across the board, rather than the devs having to make the solo/SWF distinction every time the topic gets brought up. Those are the kind of changes I was alluding to when I said SWF needs to be nerfed or be brought to the same level as solo somehow.

They most certainly were not. Always hovering with flashlights, almost always on the same gen together. All cross-platform so I couldn't ask, but you can literally tell they weren't solos. Don't doubt my intuition, I'm rank 1.

The core problem with solo que is a lack of power over your teammates. Seeing what they are doing helps, but watching David charge into a snowball isn't as helpful as it sounds.

Well SWF can't make their teammates play perfect either. Also, not having mmr is why you'll get a teammate like that. Not because you're playing in solo.

It actually has little to do with MMR. Trying to break a snowball is often the correct play, but such efforts have to be co-ordinated, not just by comms but by knowing one another's behaviour. The best survivor in the world can make a myriad of cock-ups because they assume their teammates are going to do something they have no intention of doing.

As many other people mentioned before, not every SWF is full of godlike survivors, I play SWF just to have fun with friends, we win, we lose, no big deal, we just wait in line for the next match. In fact, none of us have ever reached red ranks.
What I wouldn't mind is if there was a specific lobby for both Killers that don't want to play against SWF and Survivors that decide they don't want SWF teammates, in which case both sides are able to agree on these no-SWF terms, then no problem.

I play on PS4. And seeing that you "ez 4k all the time", maybe you're not a good judge of the difficulty of red rank killer when compared to us peasants. I would probably turn off SWF after having a bad match against one. Otherwise I would not have it permanently turned off "for an ez 4k" like someone above assumed that I would do.

I reached R1 right before cross-play was released (and never want to get that again)
Honestly I am a good judge of the difficulty of a red rank killer Cause I have been there (Bad Word)
So you would turn SWF off.... after you "lose" though (ok cool)

Turn it off and wait times will be be ridiculous for you. There are not many killers that wouldn't turn it off and the majority of the survivors are playing in groups.
Good way to kill the game though.

All we need is to be able to see in the lobby when we has a SWF group. We already can see when they are from another platform, so why not show who is in group.

It's the same as when we were able to see survivors rank in the lobby... they called that a bug but it helped newer players easily avoid a match or two

Those were the golden days. We could actually avoid rainbow rank matchmaking. But not anymore. Now the devs and their lemmings want to cover up every piece of information with a black sharpee. Yet they'll allow stream sniping in a heartbeat.

I hadn't even thought of that. I think it could be a good idea. It doesn't take THAT long to go from rank 20 to 1 anyway. But good luck getting a bunch of people behind it. They only conform to the devs' ideas, then get angry when the game's in such a bad state.

Video games should be fun. That's the point. If you're worried about your mental health from playing a video game, STOP. I hated what the rift did to the game for me as a solo survivor. It destroyed the game. I quit for months. I just came back three or four days ago to see if things were any better.
For every killer complaining about SWFs, I have to laugh. I've had six or seven friends try to play this game over the last maybe 18 months. They've all quit, because SWF is such a miserable experience if you're not all at the same skill level. One red rank survivor with three yellows vs a red rank killer is miserable. We could play for HOURS and not once even get two gens done. Weird how killers never mention that.
"Is that worth protecting the *institution* of SWF?" People want to play games with their friends. Whether it's DBD or Apex or any other game. If you remove SWF, less people will be playing. It's not about bullying a killer. It's about wanting to have fun with friends.

Solo Q and SWF are basically different modes that require different balancing. Anyone who denies that plays SWF and wants to downplay the advantages they get. You can't deny the fact that having comms basically gives you free perks and denies some killer perks. You gain perks like bond, empathy, kindred etc and nullify killer perks like knock out. SWF definitely has extra advantages that were not intended.
