RE: "Unsportsmanlike Conduct" Bans
I'm curious as to what this is supposed to accomplish. So instead of straight DC and "ruining the game for everyone", they'll just run straight to the killer and die on first hook instead, which cannot be proven to be purposeful or not.
This change is about as useful as the "15 is the new 20" change which has done literally NOTHING to stop people from purposely depipping to farm lowbies.
Pretty good job so far....

DC is a faster derank than letting yourself die, so it accomplishes something. Just because the problem isn't 100% solved doesn't mean a partial solution shouldn't be tried. Given all the threads from chronic DCers who were banned and threads like yours "cleverly" disguised to try to seem like you're not scared shitless you might be next, I'd say that they did a pretty good job so far - no sarcasm.

not only did the 15 is the new 20 patch work as intended, but if you cant see how suiciding to the killer is far more preferable than DCing, then you may not be thinking straight.

That isn't right. If your ISP goes down for an hour and you happened to be in game then you shouldn't be banned from playing the rest of the day. That is beyond your control. A more fair system would be 3 min for first DC, 30 min second DC, 3 hour 3rd DC, 3 day 4th DC.

No Solution is perfect, and to be frank if your ISP going down is an issue you have to deal with regularily, then your internet is too unstable to play an online game.

The game is Nerf'd toooo much now, games are shorter with qcker kills & player RAGE QUIT as they had enough. Dev's are NOT going to Ban or stop people from playing their own game lol So until both sides are happy with their play/balance we will always has DC.

1.as survivor, killer literally facecamps on first hook (yes I'm aware of the new changes to discourage this) when he knows for a fact no one is around (I see them on the other side of the map)
2. as killer, a SWF (confirmed, I check before I even hit ready) is clearly there just to bully me all game in contrast to trying to keep me distracted (2-3 surrounding to flashlight spam, teabagging at exit for 5+ minutes, etc.)Other times, the game crashes or my IP takes a ######### for like 2-3 minutes. In short, not every DC is intentional because "they're salty".

There's a difference between "being salty" (in reference to being mad about losing) and wanting to have a fun game, win or lose, without dealing with children just wanting to make the player themselves miserable "for the lulz" (or whatever stream they're currently running in hopes of being an Ochid0 clone).
To put it into another scenario, it's like going to an arcade (showing my age, I know) to play some fighting game for fun with others and a group of kids show up, ######### talking and kicking your shins the entire time, not caring about playing at all, just to simply piss you off.
If you can't see the difference, then there's nothing left to discuss with you on the matter.

If you are being Face camped, just try to kobe, then die. No DC needed.
Survivors SWF trolling you?, face an exit handle, then go make a sandwhich. No DC needed.
Yes your solution is purely salt driven.
As for the Arcane. That's when you tell the manager or an Employee whats going on and get them kicked out.

- I've actually started doing this, despite my distaste for the killer being rewarded for wasting my time.
- Or I can just leave because a) you know full well that said survivors will drag the game out as long as possible even if you don't engage them and b) afking is actually reportable offense
If wanting to enjoy my time playing is "being salty", then guilty as charged I suppose.

I dunno I usually play pretty stealthy killers like Myers, Wraith, and the Fredster. So I can usually hide somewhere and wait them out pretty easily. Hell it's even gotten me kills when one of the cocky cucks decides to come find me.

Why would they punish suiciding. The core game has to be fixed, then deranking wont be an issue anymore (have you ever seen that in another competitive game?)

Yeah well that's going to change in the very near future because BHVR is working with both Microsoft and Sony on implementing ban systems. Also just because they don't currently ban on consoles doesn't mean they don't have that wealth of data already.
So all those that've been toxic, hacking, rage quitting etc they've already got all the proof they need to ban but it also gives them data on who to watch now.

You assume that a DC is intentional. Maybe your dog just knocked the plug out. Maybe your ISP went down for an hour. Maybe there is a fire in the kitchen. The point is that a 1 day ban for 1 DC is unreasonable. I already gave a reasonable alternative. One that is not overly punitive for a single incident, but would certainly discourage abuse.
- 3 min first offense in 24 hrs.
- 30 min second offense in 24 hrs.
- 3 hour third offense in 24 hrs.
- 3 day fourth offense in 24 hrs.

What happens if the killer wants to troll and holds the game hostage in the basement entrance. Or two survivors drop out before the game starts? Or the return of the stuck in ground bug? Or any other valid non-toxic reason to DC?
Should you leave your game open until the problem sorts itself out or DC and be punished?

If you are running on unstable Mexicano internet then don't play an online game.
There are more reason than having a kilobyte a second internet speed that makes you disconnect from a game. You know that right?
Again.
If your internet is unstable please do not play an online game. Your issues shouldn't hinder anyone BUT your fun, and yet it does.

YES YES YEEEEESSSS!!!!!!!! This is a good solution...But we all know the dev's WONT...Put simply, they dont want to put people of playing their game!
So you state they don't want to put people out of playing their game yet isn't that what these bans are doing, putting people out from playing their game?
My PSN friend plays Survivor & RAGE QUITS if he is 1st down, tunnelled, or camped, 6x in a row he quited once... NO BAN & never has been. He says it's his way off balancing his games as he feels trials are to time consuming with slow-up nerf's.
Well you can derank on PC by DCing too and nothing happens.
Is that microsoft/sonys fault too?The recent ban wave would say otherwise and given the recent spam of complaint threads would confirm your wrong as well. As far as Microsoft/Sony technically yes it's their fault since they won't ban and want full control as usual.
I dont know about those guys on the forum, I dont know what they actually have done.
But I know a certain fogstreamer that deranks regularly by DCing in order to hover between certain ranks and apparently that is still fine1 -

That said if the person plays a ton of games each month then their % of games played versus games dc'd on is proportionally low.
That doesn't make it right it's just how it is at the moment but hopefully in the future they'll change that to the higher standard.

I have repeated this several times already.
it does NOT matter how much you play the game, in order to hover at a certain rank range, you will always have to DC a certain rate, no matter how much you play.
And since she is actually an experienced survivor that pips every game and sometimes even double pip, she needs to DC even more than others0 -
