They will probably end up adding window vaults over some of the balconies to make escaping a slight possibility.
Although it wont stop a killer from grabbing your booty and slamming it back on the hook.
They should have two spawn locations for the hook imo. The first one should take place of the basement spot if the basement spawned at the shack. If the basement does spawn then the hook should be in one of the nearby rooms of it.
This isn't the first time they've hastily did something with very little testing around it. *looks at huntress hatchet hit boxes*

Oh noes! They took away yet another exploit?! The audacity of these people! C'mon, seriously, I used that exploit, everybody's used that exploit. It was infamous and needed changed, much like the sagging diaper you've been parading through every DBD forum available since the patch went live.

Wait what? I haven't played in the Thompson House. What did they do to it?

Sabotage that hook as soon as you spawn up there. xD2
-
All a survivor had to do was lead them up to the top floor balcony, hit the farthest corner, and then struggle out on the ride down because there was no way they could get a survivor to a hook without the right perks. Could get loose just outside the building entrance, run back up, and if the killer tried it again (insanity) most gens could be finished by the second round of this. They basically had to drop and slug you.

Hilariously amateurish.6 -

If you run up there and get caught you still have the option to run down.
If you get caught downstairs near the building then any Killer worth his salt will carry you to the basement instead.
You are complaining about something thats mostly a scare tactic to keep survivors from running up to the chest.2 -

Back to topic now? The fact they put a hook where a gen is with a single entry\exit point? It looks like it seems totally legit to you guys, what to say.... let's listen to other ppl opinions too...

You could always just k ill yourself on that hook. Then it's gone the entire game, problem solved!

If you are being chased by the killer, don't go near the house. If you are in the house when the killer finds you then run away from the house. Problem solved. You are welcome.

Killers can already do that in the basement. Why is it pointless? Because you lose the game with that.... (assuming survivors have a brain and do gens)

Lol, that spot was very infamous for Survivors just running up there to literally be unhookable.
Guess it's payback time.0 -
It is the same situation that could happen for the basement on some maps except this is just 1 hook, if a killer does this, it will be unfortunate for the survivor hooked, but as long as the teammates are paying attention, they can do the gens and that'll be game.

So it was fair to run to the top of the house and never get hooked? The chance a killer blocks the stairs so you cant get unhooked is keeping you up at night ? Can we please take a deep breath exhale the entitlement and just play the game.

And of course it comes with the same issue as all other forms of camping.
That hook is merely a scarecrow that keeps them away from doing that exploit at the chest.3 -

This is a good change. Now you can’t run up there to avoid being hooked and act like you’re some kind of god. You’ll have to get good and stop worshipping some creepy manchild.3
-
Wait this isnt only possible on the thompson house it can be done at some or all basements on every map. And from what i have experienced the hook spawning up there is rng and might not even happen 100%

I think a drop off would have been better too. Or at least adding another staircase if doing the top floor hook. Having only one way in/out of the hook is supposed to be a basement only concept. Takes away from the power of the basement if killers can just guard stairs here instead.
There was almost certainly a vault or a hole at some point in development, the "fence" around the top has at least one spot that looks like it used to be open. The reason there isn't a way to get down other than the stairs currently is that it would make the top of the building extremely safe for survivors. Once you hear the terror radius you can just jump down and run. Most likely would become an extremely cancerous loop spot if you just immediately run up the stairs to the hole again and there are lots of pallets around the house.
If you don't want to get hooked up there then don't go near the house. The path to the hook is long enough that it's not possible to reach the hook unless you are downed inside or right outside the house, unless the killer is using Iron Grasp + Agitation or something.

If the killer is going to waste their time staying in one spot, for God sakes do other generators there are 7 on the map why do you care if one is being guarded.
The killer isn't violating any of the rules in fact they're wasting their own time by doing this take advantage of it.

There are 6 other generators on the map.
Find Ruin ASAP.
Finish 2 gens ASAP.
If someone gets caught before Ruin and 2 gens are done, more than one person will die to a hook camper.
If you can accomplish those two tasks, you should be fine. Don’t sit at the hook with them, do a generator.
Assume every person straight up standing at hooks is running NOED.
Thats the best advice I can give.1 -
-
But it was ok for survivors to constantly run up there with no consequence pfft hypocrites.0

As a survivor it's not that big of a deal and as far as just dropping down.
Those using that excuse do realize smart killer already bait those drops for free hits/downs from people just jumping out windows.

This is EXACTLY why they didn’t just “open up” a part of the railing. It would quickly become a cancerous Looping spot and notorious safe zone for Survivors.3 -
Guys, remember that there is a gen up there...0
