Apparently Bloodlust is getting disabled temporarily for this weekend?

This isn't my screenshot, but apparently they're testing out the game without Bloodlust enabled on live servers. Beast of Prey has been pretty much deactivated. What are your thoughts on this?

Just saw this. This is pretty interesting. I don't think I've seen them do this on live before. Personally Bloodlust only goes past level 1 for me if I'm being seriously outplayed by a god looper. So I may hop on killer and play a few games.

I'll be interested to see if this has any major effects on map design. If the devs notice a significant increase in the strength of certain loops or areas on certain maps this could mean better map design changes in the future. It would be nice to reach a point where bloodlust isn't necessary in certain places as it's always felt like a weird band aid fix to the strength of certain tiles, like the god bus, for example. Or the main building windows in Crotus Prenn.

Regardless of what this example actually involves (bloodlust) I actually like the thought of short and temporary little "tests" like this on the live game. I'd love to just have an always-on PTB where they try all sorts of wacky stuff, but you don't get nearly as many players by doing that. Especially when the PTB is a beta branch on Steam instead of its own library entry.

Hopefully they do similar experiments with other stuff in the future.

If they do get rid of Bloodlust, what would become of Beast of Prey? Would it simply have to be completely changed? Personally...I'd be ok with bloodlust being an effect of the Beast of Prey perk. Meaning...you only get the effect of you use the perk. But that's just me.

Not really sure how I feel about this.

On one hand, most of my hits happen either just as I get bloodlust 1 or before it even happens when you count pallet breaking.

On the other, the incredibly skillful move of just holding W might become much stronger on maps that allow it and 110% killers might not be able to catch people at tight loops.

I kinda agree on that since it was introduced during the dark days of pallet vacuums and such but certain m1 killers kinda get a lot of use out of it since they are not the best themselfs.

Hopefully it gets turned into an actually good perk. Third time lucky.

Freddy will return with the next Chapter. There is no official date yet.

And well, would be better to play Killer, to actually see the impact. I can say that you dont need Bloodlust most of the time.

Actually it would be better to play the killers that need bloodlust the most so they can see how this effects them.

Wonder how the 2 people that run beast of pray are going to react to this?

Angery! I use it as an almost sure way to max out the hunting category - unless I'm in sweat-mode.

In a way the devs might be learning. Instead of making changes that will obviously affect the game they're going to temporarily disable them to see how bad the effects are.

Almost like they don't want a repeat of something that happened long ago. I can't quite remember it. It had something to do with a drastic change to a vital perk for killers. What was it's name? All I remember is once they change it 5 gens were repaired in like 2 mins. Then instead of reverting the change they nerfed the living #@$% out of something from the other sides arsenal to try to compensate for the horrible change. Heaven forbid the devs undo a horrible patch because that would be admitting they screwed up.

Either way, I picture very few people playing killer this weekend.

My first thought was console killers won't have to deal with atleast one type of fps drop this weekend. 😂

I think it's rather weird they're testing this right now when they're in the middle of reworking the maps. Like... The data is going to be completely irrelevant when all the maps are reworked because those maps that are quite questionable atm like Fractured Cowshed and Ormond will be changed anyways (well Ormond is going to be with the Twins DLC at least).

The effect looked stupid anyway, i hate the way it blurs the screen.

For survivor, however...oh boi get ready for people running object sprint burst on Midwich, coldwind offerings and playing every main building with lithe and BL.

Hope you all know how to play Blight.

Speedy killers won't get affected as much.

Killers with m1 powers could be effected negatively in some aspects.

    Slow killers are screwed lol.

Can't wait to see how feeback goes.

I never really noticed bloodlust effecting my games much so meh.

Going to suck on midwich though

But if this leads to beat of ptey being reworked i won't complain

I do need bloodlust 1 in some loop and map.

Still freddy wont be back for the week end so for sure i wont play killer i dont really enjoy the other killer.

Personally we will see a huge increase in survivor escape rate for the week end.

I dont know for sure but in my opinion killer eith high mobilith will be the priority this week end

    1. "Map reworks bring some god loops back, while some just never went away to begin with."

This is a flawed argument. Because you would lose Bloodlust anyway when breaking a Breakable Wall. I doubt that you dont break the wall, but vault the window and bloodlust a god loop.

I don't have an issue with them testing this. I'm just confused why now? A lot of maps haven't been reworked yet and Ormond's rework hasn't been pushed live either.

This mechanic is really outdated and they did say in the PTB they would look into it and I guess they actually told the truth. IMO and this isn't a likeable one so sorry if it offends you but they should really nerf the gen speeds a lot but buff the 1v1 chase aspect of the game because thats the fun part! No one comes here to hit great skill checks we want to have fun chases that feel like a real 1v1
