What if we disable DS? :P
I was just thinking. With the devs turning off bloodlust to see how the game performs without it. What if we turned off DS for just one weekend? Can you imagine the amount of review bombing? I bet there would be no shortage of killer players that weekend lmao

How does Bloodlust compare to DS?
24 -
It doesn't. Not even close but I was referring to the devs idea of "Lets shut off something to see what happens".

This is not an honest suggestion, is it?
It's very hard to have real discussions, because someone is always trying to figure out what "side" you play for, what agenda you have, rather than actually discussing how to make things better. And if a suggestion involves a nerf of some kind, so many people rush in to say "Well nerf this for the OTHER side first!" and it's just so paralyzing.

Just get gud :/

DS can just be changed in a PTB so people can test it out there before coming to live.
Bloodlust is different because if you put the changes into a PTB, it could be affected or overshadowed by other changes. That's why it's better to test the change on live servers so people can give better feedback on it.

ds is a normal perk, bl is you didnt do maindgames or breake the pallet after only 15sec you become 5% faster is realy heavy... examble play huntress (110%) and then trapper (115), that is realy a difference
and when they do it, i am surviver main, but then i play killer and tunnel all surviver where i see xD that it is what happen when ds have be off xD

I mean, unless people just refuse to play during that time. That would also not only skew the results as well, but be ignored as it could be explained away.

People can also refuse to play the PTB so I don't see your point.
I also doubt that there are enough people that will stop playing this weekend in order to cause a skew in the data. Most people, including streamers, will still be playing this weekend. Bloodlust doesn't activate that often anyways during chases nowadays so most people wouldn't notice a difference if they weren't told.

Nobody would want to play survivor that weekend lol

I can already tell you what will happen - an open season with severe rise in tunneling. Why, because many killers are bad at the game and tunneling is so easy and effective for them.
It already happened in a recent update where DS has an ineffective stun time versus certain killers where they could just turn around and knock the down the survivor immediately. I would say it would be even worse if it didn't work at all.

That's not what the Devs are doing. Ever since the first Badham rework, veteran players and every Fog Whisperer I've seen talk about Bloodlust has wanted it gone.
7 -
Just the same that happens when there is no obsession in a match. Killers feel more inclined to tunnel off the hook.
They don't need to turn it off, they already know what would happen.
12 -
i will not be playing a weekend where every killer just tunnels.
7 -
That would just be a lot of tunneling. Not very fun, but of course, "survivor bad".
9 -
"Oh you seem to be off your hook. Let me fix that."
5 -
dont get me wrong if they want to tunnel they will, it doesnt matter if DS is on the game or not, thats why DS is a very poor mechanic against tunneling. it punishes the killer yes, and potentially game changing, but some people dont care about losing a game, thats how they play. Also sometimes is very worthy to get rid of DS early in the game.

So the solution is to not nerf anything.
I love dead by daylight. But nerfing sucks...

They basically already did that when they had the DS stun glitch for several weeks a couple of months ago. That was present in the live version of the game for a much longer time than just a weekend, and I'm sure they gathered data on it despite the fact that it was a glitch. You know what happened those several weeks? You got tunneled by any killer who was lucky enough to have the glitch, if it was convenient for them, which, spoiler alert, it often was.
I rarely use DS but I was on the Switch version of DBD at the time and I HAD to have it to compete with crossplay PC killers. I quite vividly remember many, many matches where I got tunneled relentlessly by Myers, Spirit, etc., after unhook and through DS, and there was nothing I could do about it even with other survivors trying to take chase. There were plenty of nice killers who played politely, at least to the point of actually caring about not making a player's game last 3 minutes by tunneling them to death, but I saw a much larger number of killers who literally did not care about any of that and were perfectly happy to tunnel to their heart's content because DS was a nonissue.
We also still can see killers tunneling whenever there is no obsession in a match, which happened in a lot of matches my BF and I played until he started bringing DS again. (We're both rank 1, btw, and I personally find DS to be a pretty rare perk nowadays- I rarely see other survivors bringing it)
What I honestly can't get over with this whole Blood Lust weekend test debacle is how I used to see TONS of threads advocating for test weeks/weekends where devs could change how certain perks work, or disable perk combos, etc. And now that they're actually doing something like that, everyone wants to pitch a huge fit over it, just because the first thing they're testing happens to be an outdated killer mechanic. Players should be grateful that they're testing it on live servers instead of just straight up removing it or changing it like they often do with other controversial things.

Nah, i don't think enough people care about Dark Sense.
HUEHEUHEUHEEUHEUHE

DS can be needed to have fun if your really good at loops. Everytime I do good at a loop and don't have DS then I am spending the rest of the game on hook with a proxy camp and tunnel ready for me.

Another Whataboutism thread.

I think its change nothing cause if killer want tunnel you then he eat your ds and continue

I don't use ds as much as I used to. But I probably would avoid playing all weekend bc all the killers will automatically get tunnel vision lol and that is not fun for some Survivors. Some killers tunnel so hard already . Could you imagine if ds got turned off 😳😳😳

Could you imagine if ds got turned off 😳😳😳
That's what this entire thread is about. The sheer amount of people who would be upset if that were to happen is mind boggling. I still find it funny the amount of responses that think this is a serious question and not a joke.

I guess one could argue that it carries bad players to a certain extent. Just like bloodlust 2/3 removes the need to mindgame a pallet for killer. DS allows one to disregard danger and make bad plays without any major impact.

Not long ago DS was bugged on some killers and games were tunnelfests. I'm pretty sure the devs collected plenty of data during that period.

I prefer them to remove aura reading perks or scratch marks. A weekend for killers to finally work for their kills

Everyone would probaly play SWF with styptic, dead hard, BNP, ormond offerings etc cause they know killers would tunnel the ######### out of every player so they would make the game as hard as possible for them.
Not gonna lie I tunnel when I see no obsession lmao
1 -
Disable exhaustion perks in general for a weekend and see how that goes.

Even I think that would be bad. Be funny, but bad.

I took it as more or a hypothetical question than a joke. And I answered truthfully. The joke was dry. I didn't sense any sarcasm lol no disrespect .

We need a font for sarcasm.
