If all you play is pubs, then you shouldn't complain about balance.

Yeah..no
DBD has only a ranked mode, which is "Play Survivor" and "Play Killer"
If literally everyone should not complain about balance then every killer we will get would be Legion

Disagreed. They shouldn't be balancing around the majority of killers/surviviors because there are a lot of outright bad players.
But balancing around the 0.1% of the community that play 4 man, meta build ultra tryhard gens before friends matches against god nurse would actually kill this game outright.

How about a discordance, devour, haunted grounds, bbq, yellow add ons spirit? 🤔

Yeah me and the KYF boys really know what's right for this game

I'm confused, the whole game is public matches, but the two other options are kyf and the tutorial.
So you only play the tutorial?

This is a troll, right?

I can agree with most of this, but then there’s always that edge case. I was the edge axe not too long ago. I p,aged survivor and my team was getting crushed. And I mean absolutely obliterated! 4 gens left. 3rd survivor dies. Hatch spawns at my feet, opens up, and I’m gone!
The killer was absolutely the better player, yet I escaped. Felt bad about it afterward.

Imagine thinking DbD "Balance" should be based around the minority of players.
lmao This is a casual game with a competitive edge. It isn't an eSport or a game where "being good" actually means anything besides you know how to abuse mechanics.
Edit: Also all games besides "Kill Your Friends" are public matches. Are you saying they should balance around that?

The game isn't perfect by a long shot. Plenty of issues exist within the game at all levels of play, and anyone that experiences those issues can bring them up. You don't need to be a tourney level player to notice something feels wrong. You don't need to be a chef to know if the soup doesn't taste right. If nobody spoke up, the Devs wouldn't know what to focus on. If they didn't want feedback, they wouldn't have a literal feedback section.
I don't know where anyone gets off thinking they can dictate whether or not players have the right to raise concerns over things they find problematic, but you don't.
"IF ALL YOU PLAY IS PUBS, THEN YOU SHOULDN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT BALANCE." <- This is incorrect. You are wrong.

Omg I have never heard a dumber take like gosh how do you come up with this stuff? Oh? You don't play in tournaments? In this defaultly competitive game called Dbd? Then you don't get to complain about balance! You who has hundreds of hours in the game and have played multiple varying matches changed by perks and varying levels of skill? Nope your opinion doesn't matter! People like you don't know what they're talking about, this argument may work for other games but Dbd is defaultly a competitive game and everyone has a right to complain about balance and meta within reason.

What kind of logic is this?
"You're most of the playerbase, so you don't get a say!"
Uh... no? People who play pubs are the fast majority and the game should be balanced around them. This is not a competitive game, despite what many seem to think otherwise.
Saying you should always get a 3k against most survivors is a bit insulting, both to the killer and the survivor. Just because you play pubs does not mean the players aren't skilled, it just seems that way due to the matchmaking being garbage so the disparity in skill is very high.
All this accomplishes if making you come across as very elitist and pretty goddamn rude to most of the playerbase.

And another note to what you said about perks and how being a better player will let you win no matter what, yeah that's true, IF your a survivor because due to how heavily the devs cater to the survivors it has been shown and proven there is nothing a killer can do against a swf group with communication, meta perks, and toolboxes so your wrong perks and add ons change the game a lot and if you think otherwise your wrong.

How about post: your comp name; team name; and some vods of you competing.

This is the kind of elitist mindset that pushes players away.

We'll all go for a pint after lockdown

Well I don't drink however I would definitely go for a pint of coke once this is all over

I find it weird when people want this game to be an esport. Like how would that even go?
"Million dollar pot, who will get it? Team Cloud9 or Faker playing as 1blink Nurse blindfolded?"
And commentary over the game with a live audience would basically give the killer all the info they'll ever need. Or give survivors way too much info about the killer's perks.
"Team Solo Mid has decided to genrush the first gen in the killer shack, oh no Oztdarva seems to have overhead my announcement of their location! He's heading straight for them and he's got devour hope!"

Talk of balance in this game annoys me a little bit. Basically its a survival horror game.
The survivors should be scared of the killer and the killer should be a major threat to the survivors.
When you know the killer has little chance of catching you as survivor this game is dull as dishwater and the same goes for when you are poorly matched as killer and can't actually dictate the game. Often the posts I see about balance want this scenario rather than a survival horror.
I get it though if killers were super powerful noone would play survivor, but when survivors don't fear the killer its kind of a mute point. The problem with this game is its multiplayer meaning someone has to get neutered in the name of balance.
Single player mode against bots would be great.

If a difference in ranks doesn't mean anything in this game, would you say the same about CoD? If I was a first day noob, should I be matched against people who are not only max rank but also have superior weapons that I don't have unlocked? Because that's not skill, that's smurfing/having perks and weapons that are far superior to the starter ones I'm forced to use.

Public match as in playing the game? Am I missing something here? Is this guy complaining that we've got to play tournaments before we can have an opinion? What tournaments?

I love to read posts like this that share opinions like the undeniable truth or reality of something, cause most of the time they are wrong and poorly written.
Good luck on your infinite win streak my Ultra Pro DBD player friendo

This post is really something. I mean wow, I've never seen a more elitist thing said in my entire life, lol. I can see why most of the comments are critical of your post.

I was wondering why it came across like those "I have a very high IQ" posts

I play more scrims than pubs anymore, but I kind of disagree with OP here. There is no competitive DbD without casual DbD. The game doesn't exist at that point.
Do I think the game should be balanced a bit more for competitive play? Absolutely. There are like 4 or 5 competitively viable killers and the rest are absolute memes against any team that consistently makes it out of round 1. Most maps are horrendously survivor sided or killer sided and there are too many BS instant win cards like moris or keys. Those are symptoms of a casual game that I think most players would like addressed.
