Reporting on console
As a console player when it comes to reporting players it feels very lacklustre. On PC you are able to select a category and then type out a reason for the report, however on console we can only select a category which makes you question whether the report is actually going to do anything. If console also had the option to type out a reason for report it would feel as though whatever happened will actually be dealt with. I know it takes longer to type a report on console, but if you had someone who was hacking, lag switching or doing anything that is a bannable offence I wouldn’t mind taking the time to fill out a report because at least I’ll know the issue will be dealt with, because right now it feels like people can get away with anything.

Reporting player behaviour in game does not seem to punish anyone, ever. Maybe the reporting player for wasting their time. Now if you receive hate messages via PSN you can report and generally, depending on the offense, the offender is muted for some time. That psn mute system seems to be automated and my guess it is the best you can hope for.

Reports do work, despite what you may hear. However, some report types require additional (video) evidence, which can be submitted via a support ticket.

Yeah this is true but unfortunately this isn’t good enough, there should be a fully functional report system that deals with the players in the game, I shouldn’t have to take it to other sources like PlayStation or Xbox for in game issues to be dealt with.

Thank you, I wasn’t aware of this, and I assume many other players aren’t either, there should be a prompt in game that says something along the lines of “for further support please go to ‘website’” so more people don’t feel the same way.

Yes, the report system needs a serious overhaul. Particularly, they need to stop demanding video evidence and should just collect the relevant information from the game itself.

Exactly, they could implement a system where when you submit a report, BHVR can view the report and spectate the match to see any suspicious activity that happened, this would mean that you wouldn’t have to submit video evidence and they could see the match from a better perspective.

I'm not saying they should necessarily record every match from every perspective and delete the recordings if nobody was reported, since that would waste a lot of space, but more telemetry would be useful. Player positions and such should be relatively "lightweight".

It wouldn’t be a recording as such, it would be just like spectating other players in game, if that makes sense?

It's the same thing, you'd need a way to record that visual information for the mods to review afterward. There aren't enough mods in any game to handle reports in real time the way you're suggesting, especially if the reports only come after the trial has ended (when there's nobody to spectate).

It wouldn’t be in real time

Then you'd need to record it.
There's no way around this. If it's not going to be reviewed in real time then you need to record it.

I believe they're referring to something like CS:GO's demo system.

I don't play CS:GO, but doesn't that simply record everything, or otherwise record the data required to create a video?

I believe it recreates the match based on recorded in-game data.
