Do you even play your own game?
It’s a stupid question, because you don’t.
1. How can you release a completely broken chapter just like that? Then say you’re fully aware you’re releasing it in a broken state and maybe you’ll fix it later ? It’s baffling.
2. How have you kept this ranking system for this long, when it doesn’t work and it continuously places people with vastly different skill playing together ? it’s also ridiculously easy to rank up. Way too easy
3. How can you release map “reworks” that are completely empty full of dead zones, new players will hardly get used to what a pallet is. There is none.
4. How do you keep breaking 10 things when releasing 1? How does a new DLC break Legion? Are you even aware of what you’re doing?
5. How do you keep releasing a new killer every month and a half when there has been issues for YEARS that remain unfixed and THEN you release a broken and buggy killer?
We want a “FIX YOUR GAME” DLC next. Stop releasing new content without addressing all that’s broken and unfinished. Fix the audio, fix the maps, fix the crashes, fix your killers, fix the balance issues. Fix your god damn game.

they need to do what r6 seige did they made a whole operation called operation : health where they fixed the game and only that nothing new just fixes
14 -
or friday the 13th, the past two years they have been trying to fix every single bug for the final update ever for the game even tho they can't release new content
5 -
can you stop
2 -
you fix the game if your so good
1 -
at this point it's pretty clear that they do not play their own game, at least at the higher levels: on the PTB it took people like 2 games to understand that lockers hard counter victor and that there's no reason not to keep victor attached to you, removing the entire killer's power.
onto the live version: not only there are thousand of game breaking bugs, but the first thing that I thought about the new killer is how powerless victor is if a survivor camps the upper floor of Laurie's balcony: since if he jumps, he either surpass the balcony, hence dropping down, or gives time to the survivor to kick him.
17 -
You’re the dream costumer of any big corporation.
19 -
This release from the PTB is baffling considering that the full release is even buggier than the test build. Not only do I not want to play with an unfinished killer... I dont want to play with this many bugs on live either.

The devs do play their own game and some even stream it. They all seem to really care for DbD, and want the best for the game. Which is why I don’t think it’s the devs fault for chapters being released earlier than they should’ve.
3 -
If they play and care for their game they do an excellent job and making it seem the opposite. Not only have they not fixed all the issues the game has had for years now, they won’t even fix the new DLC before releasing it at this point. They knowingly release broken content. They said so themselves in the patch notes.
I don’t care if they stream their game, they’re still selling us broken content.
2 -
Almo and McLean both stream several times a week playing DBD.
0 -
Then they should stream less and work more
3 -
Y'know, we should maybe start a hashtag to get investors to see how unhappy we are with the state of the game...
I mean, I love the lore and I've met some of my best friends through DbD, but even though I don't play long, seeing bug-infested patch after bug-infested patch, all while the devs go on stream saying they won't do a health patch... (two or three dev streams ago) is... well, gotta go for where it hurts.
I propose #DeniedByDaylight ?

I think you're missing the point of what some of these comments are saying. I fully believe that the Dev's are great people, and truly care about this game.
But the higher-up at BHVR as a company probably pushed this chapter before it was ready. Investors, someone higher-up on the ladder. This chapter is 100% unacceptable in terms of bugs, but instead of attacking the Developer's we need to make it clear to BHVR, the company, investor side, that we - the consumer - want them to take their time. Attacking the Developer's does nothing.
3 -
They’re trying their best to fix all the bugs in time, but they have set themselves this unrealistic goal of a chapter every 3 months and they are too stubborn to change up the schedule. Or perhaps they want to have more time, but can’t because higher ups are forcing them into it.
1 -
You demand explanations from those you know. I demand explanations from the developers I know and see on the streams , the community managers. Those in contact with the community. I can’t communicate with the CEOs because I don’t know who they are. And I don’t know their names. And I don’t think they even read this. If they don’t play their own game much less read their own forums.
I as a costumer don’t care if “tHeY StrEAm tWiCe a WeEk” if the game’s broken.
1 -
They can't keep keeping this up without something else giving further. Allegedly 141+ new bugs with the new patch atop the existing bugs beforehand. A shift of resources or time obviously needs to be made.
2 -
They stream at night during their free time, not during working hours. I thought you were complaining that they didn't play their game but when you find out 2 devs do and publicly you don't think they should play their game? OK then. 😂
1 -
I'm glad they play it, but why did they not bring up the victor locker tech to the rest of the dev team before the ptb was released?
2 -
That's fair. I doubt the developers can actually do or say anything, contracts and all that, but I don't believe we should attack and blame the developers for what was most likely a corporate decision they had little say over. This chapter sucked, in terms of the quality of the content that was put out, but attacking and demanding things from the Developer's (when they might not be able to even say anything) doesn't sit right with me.
All we can do is try to get it across to them, and hopefully whoever's in charge of their time, to give them more time to put out better content. The Dev's make some baffling decisions sometimes, but I doubt it was theirs to push this chapter out so early, in such a state.

I don’t care if they stream their game. I don’t know how this is so difficult to understand for you, costumer of the year. What I want is the game to be fixed, stream it or not.
I want them to release FINISHED and WORKING DLCs, stream it or not.
I want them to slow down new content and fix the already present content that’s been needing fixes FOR YEARS, stream it or not.
Watch their stream, become a subscriber, moan their lawn. I don’t care about that.
This new DLC is a shame and the state of the game in general is a shame.
1 -
Maybe they just didn't try the tech, hence there being a ptb. Ptb there's a larger player base of varying playstyles that will find techs the devs may not even think to try.
1 -
That's fair, albeit disappointing. I hope the devs expand their internal testing or release the ptb much earlier going foward.
2 -
he shouldnt, because of people like you we deserve what we get. ive never seen such problems in any other videogame (even way bigger games) dont justifiy them, please dont be that guy. demand for good not for bad, demand when you are paying for a product, bugs taht are still there since release, and they break the game way more after every release, but skins are working as intended and the same goes with the shop. so please dont be that guy.
1 -
The title of your post is "Do you even play your game?" and then your first line is "It's a stupid question because you don't." I answered your question that they do, and publicly so you can see how they play and their opinions on the bugs/glitches - which they do talk about.
The Devs don't get to decide what is/isn't worked on. Higher ups want to see money flowing into the company and as long as people continue to purchase broken DLCs they are going continue pushing out new content. There was an announcement prior to release that it'd be unfinished and still people bought the DLC. Be mad at those that continue to buy announced unfinished content that pads a CEOs bank account, not the Devs that have higher ups making them focus on new content over game health.
2 -
We are not part of the company that earns millions each month with DbD.
Their job to fix it and now there are more and more threads on the forum from unhappy players. It was not like this some years ago.
They have to do something now.
0 -
They don't, when they do "around the campfire" streams, they're all rank 20
0 -
I'd love for the ptb to be out earlier as well as some sort of beta that console could participate in because there's definitely console specific issues they miss out on.

THIS.

then play the bigger video games
2 -
Again, I will say it once more in case I didn’t explain myself well enough the first time. I don’t care if they stream their game.
My question is if they play their own game, because if that’s the case, they must know better than anyone the content isn’t ready to be released. Or that the content that is currently released isn’t working properly or doesn’t have enough quality. So, when I ask “Do you play your own game?” The question must be no, because otherwise they’re knowingly releasing broken content and they must answer for that.
I don’t care they talk about their opinions on bugs and glitches. We do that. Their job is to fix it. It has been years with some of them.

thanks for confirming (again) to me why we deserve what we get. the community of this videogame just deserve what they want. mediocrity.
0 -
Console Q&A is certainly getting the short end of it.
1 -
you dont deserve anything stop thinking you need this game to live
1 -
If you don’t think it’s important just don’t participate? What are you doing here?
0 -
non of this matters so why do people kep complaining about it
1 -
dont try that poor twist on me is not gonna work mate, i wish i had a company selling some bad product (very bad products) with lots of people with your mindset like you buying it, i wouldnt have to make any effort to make it better, just makign lots of profit, as i said, we get what we deserve.
1 -
Oh, so even though the devs do in fact play their game you just want to pretend they don't so you can continue throwing a fit. The part that they DID announce it'd be unfinished DLC with hot fix later and people STILL bought it not helping the whole getting higher ups to have the devs focus on game health over new content you also just ignored so you can continue being angry at devs who don't have a choice. Got it. 😂

Guys we finally found Mathieu Cote's undercover account 😂
1 -
bud what is the end result of all this you end up with nothing so why was your time complaining about this game i just dont understand
1 -
but how did you know
1 -
thats the mediocrity mindset in wich lots of people stay on, not only in games but in everything else, thinking like that is not gonna give you anything, even worse some think is gonna improve if they dont take actions, and in fact still giving them money (wich is the worse thing you could do becasue that means you are fine with the politics, in how they are treating you, you dont bother if they treat you like a second class citizen even if u are paying) if the playerbase demanded as happened with many other games because people actually demanded for better they will need to hear, otherwise they will notice a massive decrease in players, and way less money. but this community is kind of especial, is like if they enjoyed mediocrity.
0 -
Especially with people like you we end up with nothing indeed. If you swallow anything you’re thrown despite of what you originally asked, that’s you. Bon apetit
But that’s you. This DLC deserves a full refund.
2 -
it does not matter
1 -
its pretty fun they already deleted 2 of my comments lol
0 -
"Are you even aware of what you’re doing?" (I get that this is rhetorical)
Judging by how the patch notes said "Fixed an issue with Hoarder not spawning chests" and then later "Hoarder doesn't work at all, sorry." it's pretty clear that NO, they have no clue what they're doing.
0 -
Obviously, this game is being maintained by a bare minimum skeleton crew at BHVR. 600+ employees supposedly work there and probably only 50 or less are assigned to this game I'd say.
With that said, QA will obviously suffer, as will speed of updates/fixes.
0 -
I get why this discussion exists and I see where the comments are coming from but... Pretty much every new chapter is Bug infested and glitchy, but I'm pretty sure the devs dont release and market the game, they make it. Theres a whole other branch for that and that branch is responsible for releasing the dlc early, not the devs.
1 -
They already said they won't do that. They want money. I say do a operation health dlc and release cosmetics and do reworks for the whole update. They probably aren't going to listen though.
1 -
I'm in the middle ground here, but I want to explain things from both sides.
First off, yes, the devs need to fix their game, but saying "fix your game" over and over won't do anything. It's like telling a FPS player "just get better" over and over. It won't do anything. Those 3 words don't magically give someone aim.
The devs 100% need a health patch. This games code is spaghetti, and fixing that up will help the game tremendously.
However, the code is spaghetti because they never anticipated the game to get this big, so they didn't put too much work into it. Now that the game is this big, you'd have to rewrite the entire code from the ground up with a whole new engine to fix it, which is essentially asking for Dead By Daylight 2. It really is alot to ask.
Furthermore, the devs have ALOT to fix. Ignoring the spaghetti code and how that affects bugs and s**t, there are a little under 200 perks in total, with many, MANY more addons, as well as offerings, items, and Killer powers. It's really hard to balance it, along with map design.
On the flip side, it is completely unprofessional to release a DLC in this state. It's stupid. Imagine if Overwatch released a new hero and their primary fire is just a button that doesn't do anything. The backlash would be insane. BHVR had no reason to release it like this.
The devs also are slow at getting to the things that need to be fixed when they do eventually get around to balancing. Clown was promise a rework, what, a year ago? We're still waiting. Spirit is still incredibly strong and people want nerfs (I think she's fine as is), and we are still waiting. The devs decided to nerf Hillbilly, the most balanced character in the game, instead of reworking Clown, or Demo.
The devs also just don't listen to feedback. There is a ton of people, even their own Fog Whisperers, who give countless suggestions on how to fix the game, and they just don't listen.
1 -
BTW, that Legion "nerf"/bug was because they tried to fix a very minor bug with Frank's Mixtape lmao. An addon no one uses was fixed so that the Killer is useless.
