Dead Head should not make you invincible
Why does this perk make you invincible?
As a killer, it makes this perk the most annoying out of all of the exhaustion perks, as its lets the survivor not only dodge your attacks even if they screw up, but can straight up deny some abilities, most trapper's traps. That being said, dead hard is not that good and really easy to bait out.
As a survivor, this perk teaches you to play in all of the wrong ways. Instead of learning how to 360 or how to escape a chase, survivors tend to just use this perk as a get out of jail free card. As I mentioned earlier, it is not really that good and tends to get the survivor downed against any decent killer.
So how would I fix it? I would make it so that can more easily enter a vault when using dead hard and have it lose up to 20 seconds of exhaustion for every 4 seconds the survivor is in a chase in exchange of for the invincibility. By doing this, it buffs the perk ability to extend chases but can't be used as a get out of free card, while also rewarding skilled loopers by having the perk return faster, forcing survivors to learn the loops.
Also, I don't think I need to say this, but please make it so that when you use it you don't end up exhausted on the ground.

The perk is supposed to be for avoiding damage not making distance. You're complaining about the wrong aspect of the perk.
7 -
Avoiding Damage is technically the purpose of all exhaustion perks.
Also, what is the wrong aspect of the perk according to you?
3 -
Avoiding damage as is using it to not be hit at close range. To dodge a hit once.
The wrong aspect of the perk isn't that. Because of the servers if you use dead hard as intended, you are quite likely to end up exhausted on the ground. The wrong aspect is using it to not avoid a hit but to create distance to get to a pallet/vault that otherwise wouldn't have been possible.

Dead hard without its invuln? You might as well use sprint burst at that point.

You know...that fast dodge when a boxer swings at another boxer and he misses the hit?
The killer swings, misses. That's Dead Hard.

I have only 2 grievances with Dead Hard.
First, I´m kinda sick of being exhausted on the ground, second, Dead Harding through set Bear Traps is completely BS. Other than these, I think the perk is mighty fine and hella fun.

Dumb post. I don’t even need to read it to know a one time use perk during a chase to give you a chance at dodging the killers m1 hit that killers get to spam over and over without any setback in the chase should be in the game as is if not better than it’s current state. It’s a god damn perk. It should be a benefit to the survivor not the killer lmao it’s already too easy to get hits and downs playing killer. What a joke

The perk is fine, it only is useful if you have somewhere it can help you get to meaning in the open or in a bad spot the perk does nothing.
If you are swinging without knowing they have dead hard fix that habit you only have yourself to blame and if they used it to get to a vault or pallet cool they didn't gain that much distance you can catch back up easily.

I see why, but doesn't it do both if the killer misses a swing?
0 -
because you always get distance if the killer misses a swing, what should the survivor not be able to move until the killer recovers?
The only time you should miss a swing is if it was a super good bait on the survivor part or you had to swing since they would make it to the pallet/vault. In all other situations the survivor should get downed.

Wouldn't that lend to his point, a boxer trains to learn how to dodge like that. When you use dead hard that's not thought or learning process you have to go through to use it correctly you just press a button and you're invincible.

Dead Hard already struggles with latency. Play enough games with Dead Hard and you'll understand how often you end up being exhausted on the ground. There's no "right way" to play a survivor, I'm sure that BHVR feels Dead Hard is working as intended.

Press it too early, you maybe created some distance where the killer can still hit you a second later.
Too late and you're on the ground.

Dead hard for distance is the problem not invulnerability
