Since dedicated servers heavily favor Huntress' hatchets you have to decrease their hitbox again
When p2p servers were a thing, decreasing the size of hatchets hitbox was bad and had to be reverted. Nowadays, dedicated servers make it a necessity since they favor Huntress' hatchets heavily.
I have no problem with ANY killer except for Huntress. I have 4k hours in this game and the most annoying thing is that you get hit by a hatchet you clearly dodge on your end.
It's so annoying and unfair and the devs can't seem to fix server latency.
So now is the time to decrease the hitbox of hatchets again to make things fair again.

Hatchet latency is a huge pain in the neck. I can't count the number of times I've been downed while obviously behind a wall.

Reworking huntress hatchet hitboxes would also require reworking survivor hitboxes which just won't happen considering how much work this would be

Because as far as we know, Huntress players have been carried by hitboxes since Dedicated Servers, so excuse some players for asking the devs to make a killer more "skill based" than "hitting your shadow," and "here's to hoping" based.

No I'm actually proven right by the devs themselves, your simply not doing your research..you also should be aware reworking huntress hotboxes would require a complete overhaul to survivor hitbox rigs,, this stated by the devs themselves

They've sure have been reworking maps, loops, tiles etc, etc but can't take time to tweak Huntress hitboxes?

No you are wrong, the killers are milliseconds behind the survivors visually as it takes how ever long to transmit from the survivor's computer to the server then to the killer's computer. usually 60+ milliseconds I've guessed at times. This is why the killers get hits off at times the survivor thinks they are safe and shouldn't be hit. same in the other direction too, so lots of possibilities and it's not the hit boxes that are at issue for this.

Reworking maps is waaaaay easier and less time consuming than reworking huntress and survivor hitboxes.It's also an optimization and balance kind of thing.

I'd say that p2p servers actually favored hatchets much more than dedicated servers cuz everyone connected to the Killer's internet.

Yeah she's one of the most annoying killers to go against. It's almost like her hatchets have tracking. They might as well go around corners and follow you aggressively.

My video is uploading, I just had a Huntress match and you'll see in the video as well that the hits should not have been in contact with the survivor. You'll see from my perspective that the hit should not have landed.
I was the Huntress. 52 minutes left. I'm actually going to provide proof that Hit Validation does not exist.

Not really in one of my last games I played spirit on saloon for the daily. I have a pretty stable cable connection and from my point of view I had one hit in that game where I hit a survivor during the last frames of the hit animation. I mentioned that hit in after game chat but the survivor spoke of multiple BS hits which I didn't see on my side.

Hit validation doesn't eliminate server lag..im not sure what you feel is being accomplished

No, but it should eliminate all hits from a VPN user, someone with bad ping, bad connection, someone from another country posing as someone from your current country.
If I live in Los Angeles, and I'm paired up with 4 survivors from Norway, their location, I should not get as many hits as I should because my connection is running on about 250 Ping, correct?

Do you want to understand why you are wrong? here:
from your point of view, you are around the corner but from the killer's computer you have yet to round it OR part of your hitbox is still not around the corner, the killer's client transmits a LEGAL hit to the server and then the server compares your position to the hit and determines you WERE in that position when the killer threw and the game calculated the hit. you go down even around the corner. it is simple as that. the servers have the data from the whole game and can look at time codes and see the data and blamo you get hit or you are absolved and not dead. but once the server determines you were down you go down no matter WHERE you are (you could be all the way across the map and if the time codes where you were when the killer's computer say you get hit then you are DOWN.
Simple as that, your perspective is not what rules the game, nor is the killer's however the killer's client does send the hit notification to the server. Your client has no part in this other than reporting your location during that chase. this is why you are wrong and will always be wrong, it WAS worse in the point to point because the killer's internet did not always have the right stability and caused issues because of latency and many other things.

Issue is though, is by nerfing her BS hitboxes is directly nerfing her viability. So buffs to compensate would be absolutely needed - especially buffs against good players.

no you never asked this question and the answer is POSSIBLY. it is not an exact science, as it could be that you are seeing something that the server already knows to be out of date (several milliseconds old) and thus you can't get the hit, could also be you have the worst aim ever (I know I am craptastic with her hatchets but sometimes i'm on target)! lots of potential questions in your thoughts here but it all depends on where you are connected, forinstance if your ping is 30ms (snapshot as ping never stays the same from millisecond to millisecond) and theirs is 250, more than likely they are going to perceive you getting hits that you should never have but revers it and it might end up being that you get no hits. your assertion doesn't take into account the reality of computer communication and how the internet really works.

I have a 100% estimation of BAD CONNECTION to the server, their words. None of the hits I make are fair.

you did not read my response. what the hit validation does is compare positions when the hit was calculated. if your position is in an area where that hit should never have happened when the game says you were hit (server side) then it does not down you and the killer does not see the hit. this happens in nanoseconds so you can't say when the decision is made. I said that it looks to see if the hit would have been there and they have had issues with hit validation and ranged weapons (deathslinger AND huntress as well as ONI now) so there is a great deal of things happening and you said the key term "BETA" this means it is not complete and may not be 100% accurate well less accurate than it will be with no beta.

If anyone tries to convince me that hit validation is working, it won't work because I can VPN to the UK, or Norway and prove them wrong.
Any VPN killer should not be receiving the hits they currently are, because the "server" steps in and makes sure the killer doesn't get the hit.

the conspiracy i brought up is you saying they are sweeping things under the rug by moving them to the proper forum to be posted to instead of the general discussion forum. You might try understanding that someone is responding directly to your specific post especially when they even put it in their typed response to you.
now lets tackle this new idea with what you said and explain how things are working via the internet. you talk about hit validation and vpn connections. sure you can do that, set up a vpn as you said to the uk and prove them wrong, but you won't you'll prove them right as well as prove to others you are not looking for a solution but looking to make the problem again. so here it is: normally when you connect to dbd and go searching for a match it will do it's best to connect you to the region you are in for the best games and if you are in a swf you will get a regional server center on the person that everyone joined on. This will include some latency depending on where that regional center is. IF how ever you VPN into a different region, then dead by daylight will see that you are part of that region and connect you to that region so it only takes into account where the VPN exits and it's connection to the server center from there. HOW EVER there is a hidden latency that causes things to not be understood by the hit validation software because it doesn't even see it.
I don't think hit validation is working 100% yet nor do I perceive it to be working 100% anytime soon, but they are working on it and trying to make things better where I feel you are looking only to complain and finding ways to make it about you when it's not about you at all. you think you know what happens but you only look at it from your point of view instead of how the reality is, you will be hit, you will occasionally be hit when you think you shouldn't be but that is life because you do not know the exact nanosecond the computers and servers determine that you were hit and it takes time to travel along and be displayed on your end. You thus cry "hit validation is borked!" which it isn't, it may not be working 100% but the fact that it still takes 30-60 milliseconds (that's 30,000 to 60,000 nanoseconds) for the server to update your pc. and during that time your pc is moving on ahead of the server because that's how it is. so it's gotta determine the hit, then it's gotta mark the hit thus starting it's transmission to you and then depending on your latency it takes time for your computer to register the hit what so ever and then display it to you and your eyes can not perceive milliseconds so it takes time for the display you are possibly now 100,000 nanoseconds after the actual hit determination by the time you even can see it on your screen thus by that time you are now behind that wall instead of just starting around the wall. This is why a survivor when put into the dying state by an m1 attack shifts forward or backwards on the killer's side instead of dropping right where it was hit.

I can vouch the new system not only exist but does exactly as they said it does..for the last week my internet has been very poor due to some complication with the provider, and as killer when I was lagging and hit someone..they took no damage..had it happen 5 times in a row..however some hits that look sketch on survivor end inevitably happen..there's not much can be done about it..because both people with different connections are bridged by a server..the system tries to mitigate this connection difference but there's only so much can be done

Even when hit validation worked, the hitbox of hatchets is just too big. As you can see in the picture I posted, the actual hitbox is far bigger than the hatchet. It doesn't make sense.

It's my understanding that there's a handful of devs who main Huntress. So, I really much doubt they will ever fix the hitboxes. Iri head? Yes, because no one with half a brain can defend that. But hitboxes? Nah, they'll just keep saying iT's LaTenCy bRuH.
