Matchmaking locked and losing offerings and items during disconnected matches
Recently I've been in matches as both killers and survivors where people quit before the actual match starts and I lose both offerings and add ons. Not just that but i really wish the devs had a system where they can tell if it was a rage quit or if i genuinely lagged out of my session because they matchmaking lock isn't exactly fair if i honestly didn't quit the game or if my PS$ bluescreens or something like.

You do not lose them. It just goes back to your inventory.

as @FreakPrince said they are just removed from your active use sections. had a match where the killer dc'd on load in ( no fault of theirs i am sure), my escape cake was not there, go into my offerings the same amount of escape cakes that I had going into that battle were still in the inventory. sometimes it'll remove your item/addons too (especially killer) but usually it's just the offering. HOW EVER if the the killer dc's after a little bit of game play you WILL loose addons and offering but keep item (as survivor) you have to see the match canceled error 500 information on screen to get your items back.

but I've had instances where someone else dc and I'm playing killer and I'll lose everything and drop down a rank, so it's still something they should fix bc if I'm using nothing but rare items that take forever to get, then it's not right that I lose all my rare killer items and lose a marking in rank. The killer isn't always a hosting, they need to have to where the disconnect doesn't affect everyone just that person.

You do lose them, if the match started for like a few seconds and then host dc or "lose connection from host" after the game started for a minute or 2, you lose everything and it counts like you've lost a match. I've lost offerings, add-ons, and ranking bc of this and it won't even be me

Normally, you don't lose if someone quit while loading the match. But... I've had some games with friends when one of them didn't load in the game. We were already playing and this friend was still in the loading screen for some reason and out of nowhere it shows that she disconnected, when she didn't. Soon after everyone was disconnected from the match.
I think this is a bug in the game, as it's not often. But when this happens, you lose your offerings and add ons, but I can tell you it doesn't exactly means someone really had quit.

if there is a delay in the dc being handled, then that can happen mainly if you've already loaded into the match before the server finally acknowledges their dc. and I lol'd thinking if they actually stopped the offerings dc dodge without the timer. because then they are gonna lose even more killers in the current state of that side roflmao especially when survivors used to do that to killers every time they saw a mori yet killers would after gettin btchslapped by the devs be expected to stay in a switcharoo swf lobby? na, they'd just uninstall by this point I bet and check a few months later if it was worth installing again later if they decided to come back.
I left for almost 3 full years, so, people do leave. I intended to genuinely never touch this again after late 2016 but the bamboozle effect on vault spammers got me tot ry it again around when ph came out. that was the only thing that got me tot ry the game again. people do leave, it happens.
