Platform does NOT equal skill
I've seen a lot of hate towards console survivors recently about how they play bad, never play injured etc, that's all wrong.
It all depends on the person behind the screen and even then every game is different, most situations are different. People are different.
That PC rank 1 Bill got props from me because he saved me from hook in EGC, just like a Bill would. The PS4 killer gave us a good game and managed to kill the cross platform survivors, awesome. You don't see me saying "Sweet jesus I barely made it out of there cause those awful PC monkeys. Huge skill gap. Computer bad."
No, this is what a good cross platform game looks like and could you believe it? A PS4 survivor survived. Thanks Bill.

I haven't seen many complaints about platforms/console players.
The only thing is certain killers are harder to master on console (aim-wise) and it's harder to '360' on console.
I feel like this post is more about stiring the pot if anything.

You have 9 posts, that doesn't surprise me.
No it's to show playing PC doesn't make you better than console survivors. It's also to show crossplay is great and shouldn't be ignored because "console bad"

I thought the whole console players are bad thing was just a meme.
0 -
Honestly part of it is because pc is used to playing against each other, so they just assume anyone who plays differently is console. Each platform has a different meta. In my experience xbox is more likely to bring self-care and less likely to do totems. That's not saying that is everyone, but that's my main experience. When I play with a squad like once a week(we're all on different platforms) playstation killers seem to be more toxic in the tunneling camping department, but that's my experience. Everyone's experience is different.

Lies. The most skilled dbd players play using the Atari 5200 super system.

I just created this account recently. I come here often & I'm also on reddit quite a lot.
But then it's mostly about memes on reddit, I'll give you that.

I play on Console and I am choosing to not play crossplay until Console is equal to PC. As it stands, by playing Killer on Console, I am at an inherent disadvantage.

I understand and agree with your point completely, but I hope you know that it isn’t just some PC players that do this.
An ex-friend and I used to joke around with how PC players are tryhards and that we couldn’t beat them at everything. He eventually took at that seriously and started calling every cross-platform player a cheater, lag-switcher, trash, toxic, etc.
For the littlest of things.
He complained one day about endgame chat not existing, solely so that he could tell people that they’re trash.
Nope. Learned my lesson and stopped playing with the guy.

Obligatory: You can't tell which cross-platform you're actually playing with/against if you're playing on console (I guess you could tell who is a PC player with certain exceptions, e.g. special characters in name).
Also although you can believe what you want, there are certainly areas in which keyboard + mouse players (PC) excel where console players do not. e.g. with killers needing precise aim such as death slinger, huntress and nurse.
And I have to say that a simple 360 in my experience is MUCH more effective against console players than PC players. I'm rubbish at 360's! I can usually tell when I'm playing against a console player due to their movements (and check after game). Maybe they miss because of lower fps? Unsure.
Also I have heard complaints from console players about key bindings when it comes to prioritizing interactions such as when near pallets.
PC players can also uncap their fps to a much higher value than 60. So yeah... just pointing out that although you can be good on console, your full potential is always capped when compared to PC players.

Now that PS5 and Xbox Series X can do 4K at a rock solid 60fps the advantage is not as big anymore. This is as close as you're going to get. Last gen console players will still be at a disadvantage over lower framerate and performance issues.
But make no mistake about it, a good killer using a mouse and keyboard against a controller will almost always win that battle.

Actually I dusted off my ColecoVision and fired up DBD in that. Strangly enough I got about the same 10-15 frames on Lery's......
1 -
It is, but at the same time, there's a lot of genuine belief in it too.
1 -
Ps4 killer here, but does anyone else on console have moments where the PC's survivor's character is in front of them running like a bot and then teleports to a jungle gym or somewhere closer to where they would normally be running?
0 -
This is what I realized what's most important with the console survivor meta kit- teabagging. Happened before crossplay too, but not nearly as often in my PC experience. They even do it when I'm nowhere close, like at the exit gate and the only reason why I even noticed it was because of Blood Warden and the EGC challenge.
It's also no surprise that I saw a big increase in moris when CP went live. It's pretty funny how it works out that way.

Statistically speaking, console players are garbage compared to PC players as a whole. Exceptions can occur. Not all PC players have their heads actually on their necks rather than up their own ass, and console players aren't always 100% pure bred Irish potato. It's just more common than not that a PC player will be better than a console one.
3 -
Part of it is also the feeling that they won't do as well against pc. This is mainly because of the constant comments or posts basically saying console cant be as good as pc. Which isn't true I would know because I play xbox and I run around pc killers all the time. Usually for only a gen or two, but if you expect to run around a killer for 5 gens every time you are holding yourself to extremely high standards.

Great post!!!! I have decked some red rank PC swfs before as killer on console (somehow despite being a rank 15 now!!) and I took it as me adapting! And I have had wonderful PC/switch/etc teammates :)! It doesn't matter as long as they adapt and try their best <3
1 -
I could care less; if people would stop being toxic as hell, or unnecessarily chain stunning killers with flashlights and bullying them because they know they can- I would be happy.
Console or PC, both games have some seriously toxic behaviour in game, but at least console players can't stir up trouble in post game chat.
2 -
Is it different on console to break chain blinds? On PC, it's as easy as looking up. The only time I get blinded at all these days is at a pallet, or every once in a blue moon and I'm not paying attention, someone will get a locker save.
0 -
it was, but something is up with flashlights since the newest update. You can be looking up, facing a wall, etc.... it's still going off sometimes.
1 -
Yeah, I noticed that lately it seems a little different, but I just put that up to M&A that I've been messing around with on some of my killers. I'll try to pay attention to it next time.

i play xbox series x, i am rank 1 killer and survivor. I lose 1 in 10 games and play all the killers. for me, The only big difference is playing as Nurse, Huntress, Harpooner, and Oni. These because the auto point of PC and the rotation with the mouse in case of nurse and oni. They are very easy With a control it is very difficult to achieve such perfect turns it is not impossible but you can miss more

Tldr a bigger player base is good for dbd irregardless. More vetrans will likely be present in pc due to its being the initial place to have started playing it.
I'm not gonna argue that pc outperforms console because there are a lot of people I know who dont have very fantastic machines. Some perform slower or at the same speed as older consoles gasp. But experiance of most pc players is likely just more since your more likely to encounter vetrans.
I do dislike how metrics for dbd is your good or bad but thats an internet thing. Nuanced thinking about where a persons skill level is at tends to vary dramatically. For instance in a chase im hopless at spotting a trap so hag and trapper can end up kickiny ass. Throw an excellent blight, huntress or slinger and its probably going to be a difficult but I'll hold my chases pretty well to a point I'm not worth chasing. So surviour play can vary across experiance with x killers.

That's fair, if you genuinely feel like they have an advantage over you as a console killer. I just wanted to address the level of PC elitism and bias towards console survivors and I can feel it on this thread lol
1 -
First, you don't know if those crossplayers are PC or XBox.
Second, there are objective differences in how a console player plays over a PC player.
Console killers for instance are terrible at quick searching. Good PC Killers when they walk around are constantly looking around and behind their back. You don't see console killers do this... simply because they can't. This makes them significantly easier to stealth and juke. That doesn't mean much though because stealthing doesnt' win you games.
Console killers however are also easier to loop in general. They generally do not fake the red stain while looping so they can't mindgame you as much.
Console survivors tend to 360, PC survivors stopped doing that a long time ago. Console survivors are also not very good at looking behind them to watch the killer while in a chase.
But you are correct. Platform =/= skill. And I've seen crossplay killers kill the survivors and I've seen crossplay survivors outsmart the killer and outsurvive PC survivors. I will assume that most of those with the crossplay icon are console players and not Windows Store players. (Windows Store? Who does that). That said, in general I find more potato survivors with the crossplay icon over those that play on my platform (Steam).

Personally, I've found that Console Killer's use their hearing WAY more than PC Killer's do as a sort of compensation for their lack of vision.
0 -
People couldnt be more wrong, a lot of PS4 players play injured on red ranks, they're good loopers and very efficient, this is coming from someone who's been playing both sides from years on PS4.
2 -
Absolutely. It's honestly upsetting how many streamers and content creators I see that help spread that bias and elitism.
0 -
actually, it's easier to 360 on console
0 -
Yeah I agree console survivors are extremely bad. I'm very serious about this. Cant rely on them. That's why any console player that disabled crossplay is really bottom of the barrel. Dont get me wrong pc survivors are bad but console is just sheesh.
0 -
I disabled crossplay. Does that make me bad?
0 -
Not inherently but you definetly might not be that good. I'm sorry but most players who do just arent good. I play xbox and as a killer main I keep it on in Hope's I get sweats not bot survivors. Console survivors who have it off are usually the worst.
0 -
I play on Xbox and I have it off because until Consoles are fixed, I'm literally playing handicapped.
1 -
The only handicap is frames. When the frames are decent it's easy claps for me. I wont worry about that in a day tho so I mean lol.
0 -
For survivors sure, there is not a lot of difference in skill between the platforms, but for killers PC players are by far much better at the game due to better input and typically better hardware.
0 -
I play Legion and if I dare to use my power my FPS drops to 15.
Sens is different, you can't flick and render distance is way shorter. Game freezes whenever someone uses DH, autoaim shenanigans ect ect
0 -
I play on one s and I get alot of freezes and stuff but not that legion thing.
Play 100 sense you can flick just fine. I never considered the render distance as it was a non issue for me. Dh freezes and autoaim suck but it's never cucked my 4k.
0 -
Stick around, you'll see plenty more. It's the new common crutch for bad players to blame it on crossplay.
Looking at all the replies, I'm sure you'll see most people here, for whatever reason, have transformed the "PC Master Race" meme into something that should be taken seriously.
3 -
I play on the One X and my sens is at 100. You cannot flick with the controller. Its why Oni, Blight and Twins aren't super popular on Console.
It's screwed up my 4K plenty of times. I read DH, I wait, game freezes, he makes it to the pallet because I was frozen.
2 -
It's at least as many who say PC survivors are the worst so..well it is what it is. There are good and bad player on all platforms.
2 -
Praise unto you, he who is above us.
1 -
You cant do insane flicks like on pc but you can still flick with oni. Twins is a whole different story if you are just patient shes good on any platform. I used to main oni so I could hop into a custom and show you some tricks. Blight I do agree with that's why I'm switching to pc.
Kinda weird hoe you are having so many problems on the one x but I believe you console optimization sucks. Dh freezes usually happens maybe once or twice a game.
0 -
Skill is individually based, but pc does offer better control and maneuverability. The instant 180 running is much more difficult to pull off with a controller.
0 -
Hence limiting his ability. Why do you think you never see Nurse's or Oni's on Console? They are limited by the inability to see and flick.
Victor feels terrible to play as against decent Survivors.
If the Devs want me to play crossplay, they are going to have to deliver on that "60 FPS on Console by the end of 2019" thing.
1 -
Really? Because ever since I was forced into crossplay with Xbox Series X I've come to find that a vast majority of the players in the crossplay pool are straight potatoes. As survivor or killer it's nothing but idiots all day. It doesn't matter the platform, it's the crossplay pool. I have had WAY more challenging games when I was able to turn of crossplay on Xbox. The survivors at red ranks actually deserve to be there, and red ranks are full of SWF on Xbox. Game is not even a challenge as killer in the crossplay pool. I had to try like 2 games ever, one was a Twins game on Ormond (and I was level 40 with ######### perks and this was like my 4th game ever as Twins), and then one game as Billy where despite getting a chainsaw in the first 15 seconds I was still struggling to keep up with the pace of the gens (Temple also so there's that).
I despise playing killer now more because I get matched against total morons and it's not even fun half the time. I just run them over. Sometimes as ######### Clown.
Sorry I just don't buy this BS. I think the "bad" players all go for crossplay while the "good" players turn it off for maximum sweat.
Buy a Series X. Literally all the frame issues go away (except for Lerys and sometimes Midwich, they still suck frames).
My issues with PC are:
1) IDK who the ######### I'm playing. Okay cool, your name is "John" there are like a million Johns on Steam. Can't even report the guy if the do something. Also I don't want to see offensive names like "Cock Mongler" and #########.
2) Cheaters. I've already seen some people cheating on crossplay. Had EXACTLY 3 instances ever in Xbox only, all were lag switching (pre-dedi's) and twice was the same guy on the same day.
3) PC killers still have a mouse which is a HUGE advantage, and apparently they have 0 ping because I always seem to get hit through walls or around corners, or some kind of BS where I'm like there is just no way that connected. IDK if it's connection or frame rates but it's mad shadey to get hit by a PC player a lot of the time.
4) No way to communicate. Believe or not I do like to send out GG after a game. Can't do that with crossplay on.
5) PC survivors are just THE WORST. And I don't mean skillwise, I mean attitude-wise. They are so ######### selfish and entitled. I could count on 1 hand the number of times I was just left to die because no one gave a ######### to save me with Xbox. On crossplay it's literally ever game, survivors will completely cuck you or not even stick their necks out a little to help you. Oh and I've stopped playing Spirit as much because any time I play a game people either DC, suicide on hook, or just try to meme with me. I've had like 1 normal game as Spirit since Series X came out, the rest is complete dumpster fire. Yea, there are Xbox players that hate Spirit, and yea some DC, but dear God it's not even close to how it is in crossplay. Spirit is borderline unplayable for me unless I want to meme all the time. PC players are so entitled it's disgusting.

I meant to refer to blight flicks. Oni flicks are limited to 90s which I can do on console. So oni is the same on console and pc. The problem is that people refuse to get good with oni despite his strength and being a good killer in general. Nurse on the other hand is only limited by console performance watch supa alf he did fine on controller with pc. It's the frames.
Victor is easy just be patient. That is a you problem it is very hard to miss.
I do agree with you here though the devs were supposed to reach 60 by the end of 2018 though which is even earlier.
0 -
No your PC elitism is a "you" problem. I like how you'll talk out of your ass about console survivors but as soon as someone makes a point you're down to 1 paragraph lol
0 -
I play on PS4 and with crossplay on the soloq experience is significantly worse than with crossplay off. I think these really bad players are across all platforms but seeing as matchmaking was deleted at the same time as crossplay enabled the easiest excuse is to blame console players and ignore the fact that bad players ever existed on your platform in the first place.
1 -
I, like a lot of other people, cannot afford it. So I'm going to be keeping my Xbox One X for the forseable future.
0 -
It is when my frames drop to 10 when I touch LT
