People who like farming - Why? It's boring.
Why would anyone farm in this game? It's so ######### boring.
I would rather uninstall and watch the game download again instead of farming in a match. Why even play anymore at this point.
What is your best point for farming being good?
"It's fun." - No, it's repetitive and boring. It's the same, every single match when farming, it's the same thing.
"Free Bloodpoints" - Bloodpoints are always free and can't be bought. You get Bloodpoints every single game, so what is this point? Doesn't make ANY sense.
"Easy & fast Bloodpoints" - Farming matches take kinda long, compared to normal matches. You may get more points out of one match, but it's overall not much faster than playing normal. Also, if you would just "Get good" as a killer, you get lots of bloodpoints quickly. BBQ and being good is a guaranteed 50k every match. If you are good and play correctly, you'll get 60k 7/10 matches, otherwise only 50k or smth like that.
Any more points to be proven wrong? Comment. Farming sucks.
DEACTIVATE THE DC PENALTY AGAINST FARMING KILLERS SO WE CAN LEAVE EARLY and don't have to wait 10 minutes or longer.

Also, I have noticed the trend bad killers have. They start farming when they play bad and get destroyed.
Basically proving that you are too bad to play the game the intended way.

Some people need bloodpoints -- either they're new to the game or a new killer/survivor came out and they want to get lots of BP quickly. I get it.
When I was less than 100 hours into this game I was happy to get a farming killer, and I would farm as killer with survivors every now and then.
Today I just finish the game asap and leave quickly so I can move on to the next game. But that's only because I don't need any more BP and I play the game to play these days instead of grind.
16 -
This game grind is absurd. Some people don't want to play killer, but get all killer quests no matter how often they delete their one a day and get a new one.
This people will farm, its quick, its easy. Of all the problems in the game, this is just a symptom of an extreme grind that should not exsist. If the developers trusted their players to play a game that was fun and stay around, there would be no need of a grind, and thus no need of farming games.
many of us won't play this game for thousands of hours, and simply want to unlock a decent vareity of perks for multiple builds (some serious builds, some meme builds, some just goofy builds) but you need to grind hundreds of hours for this, thus farming.
be annoyed at the company for making a grind then players that want to farm
20 -
Not everyone takes this game seriously or like some new upcoming esport that will get them on some sort of team. Sometimes people just playing/chilling. This seems to offend you. Maybe take it down a notch. This is a goofy game. Enjoy it, no need for the ego trip.

"It's fun." - No, it's repetitive and boring. It's the same, every single match.....
Same can be said about looping the killer. It's the same every match, find the nearest obstacle, run around three times, drop pallet, run to the next obstacle.
I like farming, whether I am survivor or killer. Yes, it can get boring if it happens often, but its a nice change of pace from the constant sweat lord 4 slug at 5 gen killers or from facing tryhard sweaty swf with 2 flashlights and two tool boxes and 2bnps. It makes me happy to find people who play for fun, yet don't want to do it at the cost of someone elses entertainment. I also like helping people, so if a Trapper motions for me to step into their trap, I will.
There is no need to ever remove the dc penalty. You don't want to farm? Go play the game by doing gens and opening the exit gates. No one is holding you hostage.
21 -
Ive never seen this unless its obvious the player never played that killer before. Usually, if im facing a bad killer, they just end up tunneling and camping.
7 -
Well, it sure can save you a boatload of time accomplishing certain Rift challenges. In fact, I'd argue it lessens the Rift grind.
9 -
it's quite simple..
37 -
There is no way for the game to know that the killer is farming and then deactivating the DC penalty. Sometimes I can't even tell if a killer is farming/meme'ing or just really bad. I'd like to be able to DC from a game when a teammate blocks me in after I cleanse a totem but I don't get to do that. Either way, I have to sit there and waste my time and be unable to play. The DC penalty is bad for the game, period. People still DC. People kill themselves instantly on first hook. All the penalty does is reduce the amount of people playing the game. As a survivor who regularly waits 10-15 minutes for a game, that's unfathomably stupid.
As for why do people farm? The amount of BP that someone can get farming with BBQ as opposed to playing a game as survivor is insane. As you said, you could easily get 50k from one game farming and that could take 2-5 survivor games, depending on how they go. Add in the amount of time survivors have to wait for games? It could take 10-15 minutes for a farming killer to earn 50k and more than an hour for a survivor. I also think for survivors trying to do killer challenges, it's miserable. I don't have the experience, perks, or add ons to have a chance at getting some challenges done, especially when I'm a level 16/17 killer who almost always gets purple and red ranks in my games.
Also, do gens and open the gate. You don't have to farm.

Son, if you think I’m going to finish my “get 7 chainsaw hits in 1 game” by not farming, you’re gravely mistaken
20 -
This.
1 -
I know. I also used to like farming when I was bad at the game.
Quick Bloodpoints is just get good at killer.
0 -
Yeah, stop taking games seriously. All I want when playing games is have fun and chill, but farmers make me stay in the game for +10 minutes which isn't fun. FARMING IS NOT FUN. I want to have fun. You don't want to have fun, since you defend farming.

Farming is holding the game hostage for 10 minutes, while there is a 5 minute dc penalty on the first 2 offenses. Should I dc? No, the time increases. Do I dc against farmers, hell yeah, because waiting 5 minutes in a lobby is more fun than being stuck in a ######### boring ######### game for 10-15 minutes.
As I said, dc penalty should get removed against farmers. Everyone who wants to farm can stay, normal players can leave.
Edit: I don't encourage anyone to dc, it's your own decision. Dcing is bad. :)

I'd like to do my challenges the intended way. It's in the name "challenges" not "farming tasks"
0 -
But people destroying other peoples fun is bad and should either get punished OR the people whose fun is getting destroyed SHOULDN'T be punished.
Normal players are punished by having to wait the 10-15 minutes of babies farming in their lobby. I usually go afk or dc against them, it's probably the easiest way.
Edit: I don't encourage anyone to dc, it's your own decision.

Your next rift challenge should be "Get good at the game: 0/1 completed" Or atleast get good with killer... Or get good with chainsaw
0 -
And I like to remember it's just a game, and prefer to have fun, not complete challenges. If you get super amped at the thought of spending hours trying to complete a pallet stun challenge, farming be the least of your problems 💅
@tactic Just let the Troll troll on.
6 -
Depends on your opponent. Survivor side I never need to farm. With killer it's a matter of how competent the survivors are. The faster the gens go, the longer I will use you for points when opportunity presents itself.
0 -
You should learn what holding the game hostage means. If the killer isn't preventing you from progressing the game, then they are not holding the game hostage. All you need to do is work on gens, which is the same thing you need to do in order to win a regular match.
Farming is rare enough that is doesn't warrant the development time in order to implement removing the DC penalty for farmers. There is probably no way for the game to be able to tell when the killer is farming or is just really bad.
Don't want to farm? Do gens and get out.
6 -
"Destroying other peoples fun is bad" So why are you destroying other people's fun?
6 -
Farming is not holding the game hostage, good grief. Nothing is holding you in the game and it can progress. Quit your belly aching.
6 -
It’s boring to you and some people. And that’s fine.
It’s fun for others, that’s also fine. Farming hurts no one unless the Killer is forcing you, only then it’s reportable.
I can understand (maybe) the frustration of having farming Killers back to back, (if you’re that lucky or unlucky) but DC’ing because of it is just.. no.
6 -
We all have different definitions for what is fun and not all sources of fun need reasons to be so. I like messing around with a killer and get massive bp gains or challenges /rituals done in the process, I even die for the farmer so they can get my sacrifice bp. I find that fun and it seems you don’t. I’m still playing the game just not in the same way as you, and I’m not hurting anyone. Anyone who doesn’t find it fun can leave through the exit gates after completing the generators. The game isn’t being held hostage nor is it boring (at least to me). Farming matches are great breathers from the normal matches and things I actually look forward to. I may be able to get more bp from shorter normal matches but farming matches are personally better. You may not agree but you can’t change my opinion because neither of us can determine what is and isn’t fun for everyone. To each their own and have a wonderful day.
6 -
I like subtle farming-- Getting everyone on two hooks and damaging gens before letting them go. You benefit, I benefit, we all benefit!! Very fun, too, if you have a cool power as killer. I used to smash into exit gates and gens as blight to cheer people up and I love getting boops as Victor!
3 -
WHAT?
i think you have not understood the OP!
they don’t like farming so no one should like it!!!
seriously though: as long as you don’t get forced to farm there shouldn’t be any problem with it. Getting out of a farming game is as easy or even easier as getting out from a match with bad matchmaking..
7 -
Just because you find it boring doesn't mean everyone else does.
8 -
I'm the opposite, personally. I'm more inclined to farm when I have a significant advantage and have leeway to mess around. Same time I don't think I farm the way most use the term. I go in with a goal (ritual, challenge, Barbecue and Chili stacks, etc) and I play sweaty until I have what I want. After that, I focus on getting everyone to second hook. Once I've got that, then I'll either farm whatever points I still need and let them escape, or start going in for the kill. That part varies on my mood.
In my particular case, I tend to keep my killer rank low to avoid the worst of the sweatlords and because I don't play super often comparedto others.
All that said, I have no issue whatsoever with the occasional farming Killer. As noted earlier it's a nice change of pace and I want dem tasty tasty bloodpoints, so I usually have no reason to be against it.
3 -
Well if you'd rather just die than farm after one of your teammates DC's you're free to go up to the killer, point to the hook, and say "Kill me."
2 -
Farming ruins this game. You're meant to play for the survivor-killer interaction.
Needing to get bp for characters isn't really an excuse either. I play low level or recently prestiged characters all the time and perform well.
Can't DC against them though, otherwise you're ruining the game, and you deserve to be banned.
1 -
people need to stop actinglike this some big esports game because it not meant to be fun and a little goofy sometimes
2 -
how am I?
0 -
Farming is always forced by the killer.
If survivors want to farm and killer doesn't, he can end the game in like 1 minute. The other way around, it takes like 10 Minutes
0 -
Go play Farming Simulator if you like farming.
The game itself is as boring as farming in DbD, so leave the game. Bad side of the community.
0 -
I like bloodpoints, so if a killer/survivor communicates to me that they want to farm, I don't mind doing so. The grind in this game is ridiculous and it's nice to have a chilled game once in a while.
4 -
I get hooked, teammate saves before I can let go, I get hooked again, saved instantly, killer doesn't want to hook me again because he doesn't want to kill me. Should be bannable.
0 -
Play Farming Simulator if Farming is fun, leave this game if you have the intention of destroying the game.
0 -
Farming is not always forced by the killer. You can just do gens and escape. Which is not different to normal matches, especially those with bad matchmaking.
there are instances where a killer may force you to farm, but those you can report. Most of the time it’s not the case though.
2 -
People are new to the game let them be. Though rather farming when I was new I always thought it was faster to just play normally then get to the next match rather than staying in one match farming for a long time.
0 -
I also like Bloodpoints, but I don't want to have a boring time while earning them.
0 -
I farm because I'm a survivor main and I understand how frustrating things can be and personally I'd appreciate a round without a killer camping or tunneling, so I try to do the same. Plus, I honestly do find farming rounds way more fun. Everything is repetitive in the game, so farming is actually a nice change
3 -
Playing normally is faster than farming. Atleast as Killer... if you are good.
0 -
The bad side of the community is people like you who refuse to let other people have fun. Not everyone on the planet is going to do what YOU want. You're not that special.
4 -
######### deactivating the dc penalty one in three matches i actually get a whole team (survivor and killer side) that no one disconnects. DC PENALTIES MUST STAY and be ramped up since people are not caring as much.
NOW to your post on farming. there are ways to farm to make it fun and enjoyable. Also a farming match here or there is not a bad thing. but every match sucks and I agree with that. but every now and then sure a farming match can be fun and the dc? well penalties are for things that you do that is against the game rules and disconnecting is one such thing so it should stay. if you find you are in a farm match you can just do gens, open a gate and get out. if you are forced to farm then you start recording them forcing you to farm and you report and submit a ticket about them so that you get it noticed. Devs have stated that farming is NOT a bannable thing but FORCING you to farm is another thing all together.

Farming is fine if your archive quest is too hard
0 -
Okay, but then explain to me where is the difference between normal farming and forced farming.
In my opinion, every farming lobby is forced, since I can't just quit the game and find a new one, otherwise, I get banned for it - dc penalty is the problem.
0 -
I think it depends, when I started dbd about 2.5 years ago, I liked farming since I had no idea how to maximize bp and I didn't knew what bbq was.
I liked farming when there was 5 bps.
I think it depends if the killer needs bp for x reason, same as survivors, maybe they want to prestige and not worry about them.
0 -
Excuse me, but if I'm able to get my sweet sweet 32k + wglf, I will gladly accept it. The grind in this game is unbearable.
2 -
You just answered your own question.
Other people are still in the exact boat you have described here, even if you aren't.
0 -
As a killer main I only initiate a farm if there’s an archive challenging that I don’t feel like working for. Farming isn’t fun or profitable outside of the archives imo
