People who like farming - Why? It's boring.

Why would anyone farm in this game? It's so ######### boring.

I would rather uninstall and watch the game download again instead of farming in a match. Why even play anymore at this point.

What is your best point for farming being good?

"It's fun." - No, it's repetitive and boring. It's the same, every single match when farming, it's the same thing.

"Free Bloodpoints" - Bloodpoints are always free and can't be bought. You get Bloodpoints every single game, so what is this point? Doesn't make ANY sense.

"Easy & fast Bloodpoints" - Farming matches take kinda long, compared to normal matches. You may get more points out of one match, but it's overall not much faster than playing normal. Also, if you would just "Get good" as a killer, you get lots of bloodpoints quickly. BBQ and being good is a guaranteed 50k every match. If you are good and play correctly, you'll get 60k 7/10 matches, otherwise only 50k or smth like that.

Any more points to be proven wrong? Comment. Farming sucks.

DEACTIVATE THE DC PENALTY AGAINST FARMING KILLERS SO WE CAN LEAVE EARLY and don't have to wait 10 minutes or longer.

Also, I have noticed the trend bad killers have. They start farming when they play bad and get destroyed.

Basically proving that you are too bad to play the game the intended way.

I know. I also used to like farming when I was bad at the game.

Quick Bloodpoints is just get good at killer.

  • Member Posts: 129

Yeah, stop taking games seriously. All I want when playing games is have fun and chill, but farmers make me stay in the game for +10 minutes which isn't fun. FARMING IS NOT FUN. I want to have fun. You don't want to have fun, since you defend farming.

Farming is holding the game hostage for 10 minutes, while there is a 5 minute dc penalty on the first 2 offenses. Should I dc? No, the time increases. Do I dc against farmers, hell yeah, because waiting 5 minutes in a lobby is more fun than being stuck in a ######### boring ######### game for 10-15 minutes.

As I said, dc penalty should get removed against farmers. Everyone who wants to farm can stay, normal players can leave.

Edit: I don't encourage anyone to dc, it's your own decision. Dcing is bad. :)

I'd like to do my challenges the intended way. It's in the name "challenges" not "farming tasks"

But people destroying other peoples fun is bad and should either get punished OR the people whose fun is getting destroyed SHOULDN'T be punished.

Normal players are punished by having to wait the 10-15 minutes of babies farming in their lobby. I usually go afk or dc against them, it's probably the easiest way.

Edit: I don't encourage anyone to dc, it's your own decision.

Your next rift challenge should be "Get good at the game: 0/1 completed" Or atleast get good with killer... Or get good with chainsaw

Depends on your opponent. Survivor side I never need to farm. With killer it's a matter of how competent the survivors are. The faster the gens go, the longer I will use you for points when opportunity presents itself.

I like subtle farming-- Getting everyone on two hooks and damaging gens before letting them go. You benefit, I benefit, we all benefit!! Very fun, too, if you have a cool power as killer. I used to smash into exit gates and gens as blight to cheer people up and I love getting boops as Victor!

I'm the opposite, personally. I'm more inclined to farm when I have a significant advantage and have leeway to mess around. Same time I don't think I farm the way most use the term. I go in with a goal (ritual, challenge, Barbecue and Chili stacks, etc) and I play sweaty until I have what I want. After that, I focus on getting everyone to second hook. Once I've got that, then I'll either farm whatever points I still need and let them escape, or start going in for the kill. That part varies on my mood.

In my particular case, I tend to keep my killer rank low to avoid the worst of the sweatlords and because I don't play super often comparedto others.

All that said, I have no issue whatsoever with the occasional farming Killer. As noted earlier it's a nice change of pace and I want dem tasty tasty bloodpoints, so I usually have no reason to be against it.

Well if you'd rather just die than farm after one of your teammates DC's you're free to go up to the killer, point to the hook, and say "Kill me."

Farming ruins this game. You're meant to play for the survivor-killer interaction.

Needing to get bp for characters isn't really an excuse either. I play low level or recently prestiged characters all the time and perform well.

Can't DC against them though, otherwise you're ruining the game, and you deserve to be banned.

people need to stop actinglike this some big esports game because it not meant to be fun and a little goofy sometimes

  • Member Posts: 129

Farming is always forced by the killer.

If survivors want to farm and killer doesn't, he can end the game in like 1 minute. The other way around, it takes like 10 Minutes

Go play Farming Simulator if you like farming.

The game itself is as boring as farming in DbD, so leave the game. Bad side of the community.

I like bloodpoints, so if a killer/survivor communicates to me that they want to farm, I don't mind doing so. The grind in this game is ridiculous and it's nice to have a chilled game once in a while.

  • Member Posts: 129

I get hooked, teammate saves before I can let go, I get hooked again, saved instantly, killer doesn't want to hook me again because he doesn't want to kill me. Should be bannable.

  • Member Posts: 129

Play Farming Simulator if Farming is fun, leave this game if you have the intention of destroying the game.

  • Member Posts: 15,069

Farming is not always forced by the killer. You can just do gens and escape. Which is not different to normal matches, especially those with bad matchmaking.

there are instances where a killer may force you to farm, but those you can report. Most of the time it’s not the case though.

People are new to the game let them be. Though rather farming when I was new I always thought it was faster to just play normally then get to the next match rather than staying in one match farming for a long time.

  • Member Posts: 129

I also like Bloodpoints, but I don't want to have a boring time while earning them.

  • Member Posts: 278

I farm because I'm a survivor main and I understand how frustrating things can be and personally I'd appreciate a round without a killer camping or tunneling, so I try to do the same. Plus, I honestly do find farming rounds way more fun. Everything is repetitive in the game, so farming is actually a nice change

  • Member Posts: 129

Playing normally is faster than farming. Atleast as Killer... if you are good.

  • Member Posts: 2,677

The bad side of the community is people like you who refuse to let other people have fun. Not everyone on the planet is going to do what YOU want. You're not that special.

######### deactivating the dc penalty one in three matches i actually get a whole team (survivor and killer side) that no one disconnects. DC PENALTIES MUST STAY and be ramped up since people are not caring as much.

NOW to your post on farming. there are ways to farm to make it fun and enjoyable. Also a farming match here or there is not a bad thing. but every match sucks and I agree with that. but every now and then sure a farming match can be fun and the dc? well penalties are for things that you do that is against the game rules and disconnecting is one such thing so it should stay. if you find you are in a farm match you can just do gens, open a gate and get out. if you are forced to farm then you start recording them forcing you to farm and you report and submit a ticket about them so that you get it noticed. Devs have stated that farming is NOT a bannable thing but FORCING you to farm is another thing all together.

Farming is fine if your archive quest is too hard

  • Member Posts: 129

Okay, but then explain to me where is the difference between normal farming and forced farming.

In my opinion, every farming lobby is forced, since I can't just quit the game and find a new one, otherwise, I get banned for it - dc penalty is the problem.

I think it depends, when I started dbd about 2.5 years ago, I liked farming since I had no idea how to maximize bp and I didn't knew what bbq was.

I liked farming when there was 5 bps.

I think it depends if the killer needs bp for x reason, same as survivors, maybe they want to prestige and not worry about them.

  • Member Posts: 329

Excuse me, but if I'm able to get my sweet sweet 32k + wglf, I will gladly accept it. The grind in this game is unbearable.

  • Member Posts: 3,275

You just answered your own question.

Other people are still in the exact boat you have described here, even if you aren't.

  • Member Posts: 1,346

As a killer main I only initiate a farm if there’s an archive challenging that I don’t feel like working for. Farming isn’t fun or profitable outside of the archives imo
