Why do some nurses use shadowborn?
So, I was watching some nurse videos, mainly because I wanna learn nurse, and I saw tons of nurses running shadowborn, which strikes me as odd since shadowborn only affects your fov. Anyone know why?

Good question! Nurse is forced to look at the ground when she's on fatigue. The wider FOV from Shadowborn lets you better see scratchmarks, survivors' feet, etc. while on fatigue, which can help you track them during a chase.

Or you could just look up when in fatigue.
I'm pretty sure it's not working as intended when the game allows you to do so, but this bug has been here since forever.

Huh, I've never been able to look up during fatigue. That would make life way easier lol

I thought of that, but if that's the case, then why it doesn't see any play to other killers with fatigue (legion, deathslinger, ect).

I think some of it is sheer volume - Nurse goes on fatigue constantly throught the match when she's mid-chase. Also, Nurse is more likely to go on fatigue while chasing healthy survivors, meaning her ears are sometimes harder to count on for tracking. Compare that to a Legion, who is very likely to have injured the survivor they're chasing when they enter their cooldown, and who can therefore just listen for the moaning.
Edit: Nurse also really looks down, like at her feet. Legion and Deathslinger both can look higher while on fatigue.

Shadowborns just nice to have. Nurse and a handful of other killers just don’t need perks to play well. So what do the experienced players bring? Perks that just feel nice to run. Shadowborn, Whispers, Barbecue and Chili.

A reason I use shadowborn on her is because without it I throw up. With it I do not throw up and it makes it so I can have fun playing her (because obviously throwing up isn't fun). Shadowborn is also needed on Oni, Billy, and Blight for me because of the way they move, but I never play them so it doesn't really matter.
I say needed on Blight, I still can't play him with it on without throwing up lol

I tried using shadowborn and I barely noticed a difference in my FOV. My goto Nurse build is a gen stopping perk, a tracking perk, MYC and another perk of choice. MYC is pretty good on Nurse because she can somewhat cover the distance to leave the hook and get back in time to find the rescuer.
Sometimes I'll run ruin+undying, MYC and BBQ. Or PGTW, Whispers, MYC and franklins.

It helps on Nurse to keep track of survivors after blinking. It's not used on Legion because it doesn't change the narrow vision they get while fatigued.

I've never been able to do that and I've played a whole lot of Nurse

Nurse is the only one that looks straight down during cooldowns

You answered yourself: affects the FOV

Addiction. Say "no" to shadowborne.

Give it a shot next time you play her, mb you'll find it useful (I kind of don't). It doesn't even require high sensitivity.

I just can't get the timing right, same with the fatigue cancel. I'm not too worried about it, they're bugs, anyway.

What should be fatigue hit timing in theory? I've been looking for some guides on this matter today, but couldn't find anything reasonable.

People do it because FOV. But I suggest not doing it. It's one of those things that you get crutched with and Nurse really doesn't need it. You can track people by listening and, after you get good, your 1st blink can instantly put you back in their face regardless (same with things like DS, etc.). Use the slot for something that'll help you more when you are learning, like ruin+undying.
I run BB&C, Infectious, Whispers + random perk that I'm feeling (it's been sloppy lately so people stay 1 tapped or Devour Hope if I'm bored of sloppy. But this can literally be anything because Nurse operates so easily with just those 3 perks. I use this slot for all the challenges too, like bamboozling a window 8 times in a single trial, and still get an easy 4k most times).

I saw your other discussion post, I'll move there.

Legion doesn't look down in fatigue so its not that helpful.
Meanwhile most Deathslinger runs M&A so they already have a FoV perk that's also better for helping him sneak up on survivors.

Do you have a video of this? Because in my hundreds of hours on Nurse I have yet to experience/see this.

Yeah Nurse is hella bugged. Heck there's even a fatigue CANCEL tech going around aside from the bug where you can look while fatigued.

Because when nurse is blinking and fatigued, her line of sight is very limited. So running shadowborn can help her track survivors much easier.

Shadowborn helps you not get so disoriented after blinking, also its just a comfy perk for me

WAsn't that removed literal years ago?

As of today it works.

You should play Plague without Shadowborn to get into character ;)

Affects the fov and during fatigue it's pretty neat. Other than that, nurse is a killer where u can literally slap any perk if ur good enough and have very fun matches, so shadowborn is a good choice
Some people also get motion sickness without it

dude I'm mind blown

More like exploit than tech
