Should map offerings be removed?
Here is my personal opinion: I do not think they should remove map offerings for the sake of balance only. I do not think players should be allowed to decide which map to play on. It should be 100% random IMO. It would also make the game more fun considering that you do not know which map you end up on. SWF can also be a lot more frustrating because of the map that you will end up on.
What do you think? Should map offerings be removed?

Yes. I think so.

Do you have a reason why you think so?

No,i don't think so.
Map reworks made almost all maps much more balanced. There are a few exceptions here and there but once they are done with all of them then map offerings won't matter that much anymore.

I'm not saying they should...but i Would.
Don't use them at all myself, and i just don't care what map the other side wants to play on.
They're a BP sink to me, and i'd much rather have the nodes on the Bloodweb spawn some useful Add-ons or BP Offerings.

Yes they should, I can't write in words how much I despise these things. I'll be going about my day, playing some killer, then out of nowhere a sweaty looking teams send me to Haddonfield, or Mothers Dwelling, or many of the other broken maps. If a sweaty team doesn't send you a broken map, a immersed survivor will send me to The Saloon, or The Game, or any of the annoying maps this game has to offer. As both sides they're a complete waste of my BP because I will never use them.

But you wouldn't be able to do fun builds like Spooky Myers anymore :(
And sometimes you want to see other maps if the RNG decides to give you the same maps over and over again

I 100% agree with both of your points. Since BHVR do not really make "drastic" changes, for example, say remove map offerings. Reducing the BP cost could be a nice change.

It's not like people can farm map offerings, the bloodweb is a long process and even if you get the one you want there's a chance it gets canceled out by a different offering or just doesn't work at all
Personally I like being able to pick maps but I do wish they would make them less common in the bloodweb

Your argument seems pretty weak to me. You're just saying arguments to why it's nice to have and not its bad effects. SWF can really take advantage if they get to pick the map. You have to take balance into account in the question because that is what maps are, balance. Looks are also important, but to make a map good, balance is the most important part of them.

If they stay at Green rarity forever? Yes. This oversaturates this rarity tier and makes any single offering/add-on/tool in this tier rarer than any other rarity. It makes no sense and is overly confusing and frustrating.

What's the point of multiple map offerings? Survivors will always bring haddonfield and coldwind. Killers will bring lery's or hawkins.
Yes they should remove map offerings or making the work differently

That's because it's not an argument it's my thoughts on map offerings but if it was an argument your rebuttal is worse lol
If we're taking balance into account, balancing things based around SWF seems pretty stupid to me

No. I think the killer should just be given extra offering slots.
The problem with map offerings isn't that being able to choose a map is OP. Its the asymmetry between the two sides in how much control offerings grant them over a match. Killers have to choose between map offerings, BP boosters, Moris, hook distance decreasers, a white ward to keep important addons when they are low, or blocking a map offering.
Survivors can force in a map offering, then run survivor team wide BP boosters, maybe a hook separator or fog, and have their key holder pack a white ward because why not?
It isn't that map offerings are too good, but that survivors basically always 'pick the map' which is unintentional. If the killer could run a map offering every game alongside wreaths or their hook spacers, it would be way more fair, especially if killer's had their individual map offering weighed double in map offering RNG, so to get a 50/50 on the offering survivors need to burn two offerings collectively.

Yes because you only ever run a map to further enhance your build which is stupid strong when you consider no power oni and vigil balanced landing swf teams.
Furthermore, there should be a cheaper new offering where you choose what map you don't want to play on.

Maybe map offerings could be reworked to favor the killer? The survivor variation could moderately increase the chance to be sent somewhere and the killers could stay the same

The only problem I see with map offerings:
- Survivor Map Offering
=Killer Map Offering
As you can see, survivors can stack map offerings and render the killer's map offering almost obsolete.
Therefore, I prefer that survivors can only obtain the
oldcommon map offerings (yes, the ones from the beta days) and the killer can obtain the rare ones! This would make survivors have to stack common map offerings to have the same effect as a killer's map offering! πOR
We instead make the rare map offerings remove a map from rotation (I like this idea more). If you're not in the mood to play Ormond's Realm, just slap an Ormond Map Offering on and you won't have to worry about getting one! π

I'd prefer for the map offerings to be useless, especially on killers so I don't get sent to lery's by scratched mirror myers or the game by a doc or legion.
That's a great trade off for not using my haddonfield or ormond map offerings. :)

Whenever I see an indoor map offering my game crashes.

There are certain killer builds absolutely dependant on getting a map on purpose. Removing map offerings would crush those builds completely.
Also I think wanting to alter map offerings is just a sign of imbalance on several of them, perceived or real.

Quote Highlight:
"There are certain killer builds absolutely dependant on getting a map on purpose."
I would prefer they changed the build to be more powerful overall than to have it dependant on a specific map being played. π

Good that's the goal of removing map offerings no haddonfield swat teams the forums magically goes against every game and no Doc's abusing the Game's layout or Scratched mirror myers Lery's rounds. Good

I say no just because sometimes the games decides to trap you in corn purgatory or only uses 2 maps out of the 20 which is really weird.

Spooky Myers though π’

Imagine being Spooky Myers on all maps instead of a few because they buffed the perks and add-ons to not be map dependent! π
Then, we can change how map offerings function, so that it's more interactive and fair for both sides! More on that below:

I think they should stay, with a little tweak:
Since survivors are 4, the Killers offering should have a bigger impact. The formula should look like this:
4 Survivor offerings> Killer Offering
Killer offering = 3 Survivor offerings (50/50)
Killer offering> 1/2 Survivor offerings
1 -
I agree with this since killers can't stack offerings like survivors can! π

I think at this point they need their own rarity class so other green rarity offerings are not becoming more and more uncommon to see..
also we need a trade in for offerings we would never use. There are just map offerings (and others) that I would never use on certain killers..
1 -
Definitely not. What if you just want to go to a particular map for fun. People don't just go to map for an advantage in game. For example I really like the silent hill map so I sometimes bring Mary's letter if I feel like going there. Or if I just don't want to go to coldwind farm for the hundredth time in a day I sent myself to dead dawg saloon. It would be so boring to never be able to know for certain whether or not you're going to a map you like. I don't often use map offerings but it's nice to be able to go to a nice map once in a while.

No. Besides BP offerings, map offerings are the only other ones I use. Sometimes it's nice to choose a realm/map to play on.
Also map offerings are useful for certain unique playstyles, e.g. spooky Myers on Lery's, Prayer Beads Spirit on The Game etc
0 -
No... and they probably wonβt ever be
0 -
Giving map offerings their own category would actually be a great idea imo.

I'm okay with map offerings.
I'm not okay with seeing that someone played Haddon field offering, so I crash my game. And that sets off d/c timer....
It's such bullshit when survivors want to send you to an extremely 1 sided map.
0 -
Yes. The amount of times I do ctrl alt canc for dodging Haddonfield is ridicoulos.
0 -
I prefer they be changed to anti-map offerings instead, that way it doesnβt necessarily give any one person an advantage and itβs still up to rng.
