My thought about new Rank system
First, bring Red rank players down to rank20 and play with newbie players is a wrong step. Brown rank should be the rank for newbie, once player cross to Yellow, they never go back to Brown rank. Brown rank should also be matched with Yellow rank at max (so newbie match wait time not getting so long)
Newbie Killer will not enjoy the days facing 4 Brown survivors who supposed to be Red.
Second, this reset system makes Killer's character locking become pointless. I just bought Blight as Purple Killer, should I be matched with Green Survivors, or with Brown Survivors who just reset from Red?

Huh? They said that the current ranks (red, purple, etc) will not determine matchmaking. They're literally only going to be for your reward in that month.

I dont think you actually read the post. The new mmr will be used for matchmaking, and once they have that working properly ( hahaha ) then ranks will be used for rewards

Ranks are not going to be used for Matchmaking itself - the MMR will be used for that.
The Ranks will be used for the Rank Rewards.

Will our actual MMR rank be shown? Just curious since as a player who played this game for a few years I want to be able to know where I'm at.

You act like Rank actually means something and shows skill. It doesn't. You can easily get from Rank 20 to Rank 1 in a single day after buying the game.
