Undying is dead
Literally the only change it needed was the aura reading not working on dulls

It was literally perfectly fine, the undying ruin combo is healthy, just look for totems, its not that hard
4 -
Undying generates more immediate value for Stacking hexes now, Devour Hope being the best contender.
4 -
Also, it allows you to better stack hex perks. Ruin + Undying + Haunted Grounds for example. You can get up to 2 activations of haunted grounds or one Ruin transfer + 1 Haunted Grounds Activation.
1 -
True, but its incredibly weak after the change
2 -
Thrill of Hunt already give info on Hex. I think Undying should give aura only on dull.
So the choice will be "50% chance either clean Ruin and get transferred to another dull by Undying", OR "do dulls and get spotted"
For that, Thrill can have its own place.

they forgot but now the perk is called HEX: dying

Hex: Dead

Unless you get 2 very unlucky totem spawns, It brings a lot of consistency for Devour Hope. By itself, H: DH is enough pressure to remove survivors from gens and make them look for totems plus the occasional Mori. It brings a lot of momentum and it's one of the few perks that can turn the tides of a match.
2 -
Don't worry, they will nerf Devour Hope on the next update if killers start to get value out of it
1 -
I mean plenty of times I used Undying it was the first totem cleansed, giving me next to no value out of it. Now you are guaranteed value because it can transfer stacks. I think overall it's a net buff. I could see why some would see it as a nerf but the constant jump to "OMG THE DEVS JUST KILLED [blank]" with any change is seriously obnoxious.
Edited because I had a brain fart

Nah, the activation requirement is already steep enough.

Before the change you could get ruin destroyed after two totems, too. Atleast now you know that the worst case scenario will happen and you do not need to rely on luck.
4 -
aside from the fact survivors only need to touch 2 totems to waste 2 of your perks, and totems still spawn next to gens and in the middle of open fields
3 -
your logic makes zero sense.
If before this nerf, you lost Undying first you said you got no value out of it.
Now you are guaranteed to lose Undying first, but you call that value? Transferring stacks is practically irrelevant.. by the time you have 2-3 stacks of anything, the 2nd totem is likely to be gone
literally no sense

At this point there is no reason for it to have aura reading, since it doesn't affect the hex's and the hex's no longer go to dull totems it has no interaction with the perk.
What they should do is switch the aura reading from undying to TOTH and give undying the totem counter slowdown. This would buff both perks by giving undying a useful effect that interacts with hex's and as for TOTH if they make the aura reading as it was before but shorten it to 3 or 4 seconds it will make TOTH suited for defending totems but because of the shorter aura reading you can trick the killer by cleansing for a few seconds before running away.
Even remove the alert you get from TOTH if the aura reading stays at 6 seconds it would still be better then what it is. Like as i said the aura reading on undying is just too useless since it doesn't interact with the perk and there are only 3 dull totems it would apply to.

Yes, I misunderstood the first part. But if hexes never make it past 2 or 3 stacks, why would anyone ever run Devour Hope? You're exaggerating.
Let's not forget that 1. They've been buffing totem spawns in older maps, 2. They are better at hiding them in new maps and map reworks, 3. With the graphic update on totems, they are no much harder to spot, especially just in passing.
1 -
its fine. pressure the gens and u will still do well. if your a killer who needs 4 ruins up the whole game, im sorry to tell u buddy, your being carried.

there is also the fact that token hex's are just bad, there is only 3 of them none of which are viable.
third seal? not even worth running even when slugging.
lullaby? Against good players doesn't do much and usually has to be paired with other perks meaning you'd have to dedicate 2 other perks for it alone with undying. simply not viable.
Devour hope? By the time you get to 3 stacks one totem is probably gone and if not once they find out you have a insta down those totems will be prioritized. This combo can work out but you would probably be better off just running this perk by itself since it is still very likely that you will lose both totems before you reach 5 stacks and if they see one totem without a obvious effect they might assume it is devour hope with undying.

correction
undying/ruin is dead
undying/devour has been born

Kept telling people they said they were going to nerf it and people came at me saying "ThEy DiDnt SaY ThAt" look who looks dumb now. Though it got a buff on top of a nerf so thats cool. When i tried to use it i was using it with devour. So this will be cool now for that and for Huntress' Lullaby

Healthiest change for the game since a while. Now delete PH and the twins and we're back on track
1 -
Third seal is actually extremely good when used well
2 -
I think PH is fine now. I can actually dodge him if i pay attention and i agree with the twins though.
1 -
it's not, unless you get a bunch of solo's and even then blindness and having to hit all of them is just bad. most of the time your better off running knock out.
It's also a hex totem a type of perk known to be unreliable unless it has a strong effect or can be protected but third seal is simply not worth using another perk to protect and isn't strong.
1 -
Its not that bad. Ive also said before that anything that lets killers use ruin way better than they should its going to be nerfed. They dont want killer gameplay to be ruin nearly 100% of the time.
1 -
This is quite a scary pairing. Let us see how long this one lasts!

PH got buffed while his fake wasn't touched at all (yes he can still fake) so no, he's not fine. Also "coincidentally" every PH i played against lately played exactly in the same, boring, tunnelly way using the cages

"Press F to pay respects"

How can I pressure gens as Plague on Mother's Dwelling.
I eagerly anticipate the enlightenment you'll bestow.
2 -
literally go watch scott jund, tofu, zubat etc they have no problem applying pressure. i wouldnt care if they nerfed the size of that map, it is big but you need to stop blaming everything on eveything else.
1 -
Just do bones and you won't worry about that or noed
0 -
so your advice on how to pressure gens, is watch other people, and not any actual knowledge of how to overcome that scenario
ok
2 -
NOED is fine. its to help bad killers get a kill at the end if they didnt playwell.
0 -
Here's a tip: if there are no dull totems remaining you wont get hit by noed
0 -
the advice is to watch good players apply that pressure. they have hundreads of videos on them showing how too. im not a streamer or have videos to show you. but hey you do you, just use NOED i guess if your desperate for a kill.

Kinda like how DS UB is a crutch for a lot of bad survivors?
0 -
100 percent agree with you on that.
0 -
Yeah I know its still possible, but for my experience I haven't seen any outside of the first few days of the changes actually doing it or pulling it off and i hardly play against PH players anymore so I take it as he's not easy to exploit and get free kills with anymore so he's fine. As for the tunneling cages thing just gotta deal with it sadly.. At least until they change something but doubt he'll get anything else at least anytime soon

a lachrymose nerf
my eyes well up with sorrow
cleanse undrying next

Oh no, the perk combo that did the job you are supposed to do entirely on its own got changed, so now you have to do the "apply pressure" part. That´s rough man.
Imagine relying on one perk combo to make the game work for you. Instead of being a meta slave, go watch some killer players on stream and actually learn something from them.

Ok entitled survivor main #17743361

Death is not an escape, but (Un)dying didn't get the memo /kappa
Tbh, I really look forward to the change for the combo with Devour. I really want to see how that works out. I could care less about Undying/Ruin. It's been literally one of the most boring things I have ever used in this game.
