What do you think of the upcoming clown buff?
I don't know if it'll make him the top 5 but I for one love this. I'm really excited, It's sad how I'm more excited for this than when the twins was released. Idk why but this will make him so fun to test your intelligence, from switching to your slow then switching to your speed bottles. This is great design from the developers, this is a killer change so it'll get nerfed soon but it'll be fun while it lasts, PS * knowledgeable survivor main *.

It basically improves his power in chases by making him faster on top of making survivors slower. It can maybe fix one of his core issues which is the "just drop the pallet early" strategy but I can't see a way it will fix another one of his core issues, map pressure. His reload buff will definitely help reduce his downtimes but the bottles give too little speed in general to be worth being used to traverse the map. I am excited for the changes too, he will at least be up to B tier with them I believe.

A killer power that can aid survivors. Nice. Really hope you remember to swap tonic types.

I just wish he didn't have to switch tonics... It's a little too much to think about in practice and tbh, the clown is a fairly simple killer (mechanically) to begin with... This is typical of BHVR unfortunately. Sometimes they just over complicate what should be a simple function.

I think he'll be actually quite decent. Not top 5 but probably a decent high B or A tier killer.

Stop with this typical BHVR mentality it’s literally only 0.5 seconds to switch between tonics

I'm really excited, he's complexity and versitality will spike up.

It looks very promising. I think it'll make a rather underrated killer even better and increase his skill ceiling a lot. It seems like a rather simple solution on the surface, but I think it has a lot of potential in chase and out of chase. I can't wait to try it out!

Lol you stop, I've been here long enough to know that they way overcorrect some of the changes they make.. If you aren't aware of it, that's on you.
And in my opinion you shouldn't have to do it, it's not just about the time it takes to switch, it means you have to keep in mind which bottle set you have on you and they share resources so forgetting in the midst of a chase or catching a survivor off guard and throwing the wrong bottle will cost you. It's not quite as insignificant as you're making it out to be, and the fact the power has benefits for survivor means they are relying on killers making mistakes at times with this power.

i think its interesting.
opens up some more gameplay possibilities - how strong its actually going to be is something we'll see when the PTB drops i'd say.

That's why it's complex lol, it'll be easy to learn, I hope :)

It’s hardly mentally taxing to remember which of the two tonics was used last.
Anyway Clown already is a killer for players that know how to think fast on their feet. That isn’t for everyone. That won’t change once the Antidote is introduced into his kit.

I disagree man, but we'll see soon. Imo Clown is mechanically amongst the simplest killers to play (tho very effective, and has to be smart about the routes he cuts off) all he does now is cut off routes and break loops. I think you're underestimating what having more options will mean overall in the heat of the moment. I mean, Billy wasn't changed ALL that much, but he's changed tiers because of small changes, and as an ex-Billy main, I'll tell you in some regards you definitely changed how you play him.

I would have to see the addon changes to make a determination.

Eh, I'm not opposed to challenge. I don't think he'll be worse for the wear, obviously. I just don't agree with folks treating it as negligible. It would have been fine, even unique mechanically to have access to two different projectile powers. But this is just speculation anyway until someone like Clown is king tries them out on the PTB and can confirm how they feel.

It hardly fixes clowns glaring issue of his lack of map pressure. It could be useful in chases, but using it to bait as the devs say could prove to be detrimental to clown.
We'll have to wait until tomorrow to know for sure though.

Not top 10 but definitely around bubba anti loop and catch up that's good

He’s mechanically simple, how to use the power effectively always requires quick thinking.

i have 0 problem with new clown, they said you can play like he was before and not use the tonic, while their example of bait antidote was bad because the surv would just drop the pallet and take the speed boost, baiting can work.

I was hoping for a change to Clown that would make me want to play him because he is, visually, the killer I like the most. This isn't it.

Buff? They will rework his addon and take away Solvent Jug, Pinky Finger etc. We will have to wait and see about the buff thing.

It will probably make his gameplay more interesting... stronger? I don't know but honestly I doubt it. The speed boost is too little to help him with map pressure, which is his Achille's heel.
The best thing imo is the reload speed buff.

I've already made an extensive description of what I think it will turn out. Summary: the chase interaction is probably gonna be exactly the same, i.e. force the early pallet drop. At some loops, he might be able to get a free hit with the pallet down due to the speed boost. Other than that, he'll maybe be able to catch up faster between tiles. Map pressure is gonna be slightly better, but not dramatically so.
I guess we'll have to wait for the verdict with tomorrow's PTB.

It's insanely pointless. You'll just get Clowns using it to get distance on the map out of chase, off hook, while carrying etc. It will offer very minimal chase value. Since good survivors will be given easy loops and tile rotation/break aways. It is actually pointless in the big picture. Only reason why it's being introduced is because bad players that suck at Clown complain he has no map pressure.
