What was the thought behind the new ui?
I feel it's a nice idea to modernize the ui and make it have more info, but I personally am not a fan of it. First of all it's really difficult to get used to, the old ui had 4 icons that you needed to remember for each survivor and that's it. Now the glowing red makes it infinitely harder to get used to, cuz when I see the ui I don't pay attention to the colors, so it's something that I found unnecessary.
Putting it also to the top left seems a bit unnecessary, since the community is used to having it on the bottom, which I personally think it's better. I just wish the new ui is a choice, not a necessity. The idea is generally good, but why remake it and move it from its previous spot and change the icons?

Future additions to it

The current UI could no longer support any new features being added to it. So they changed the UI to so that new features could be added to the UI. They have not said what new future features could be added

Exactly! When using the UI I NEVER saw when somebody is injured. At one point, I randomly noticed that all of my teammates were injured.

Yes, I also wish that there would at least be an option to use the old UI. I dont have any issue with not having any of the new Features, I dont need them, its not that hard to remember which Survivor has which name or Character and I also dont need to have any Hook Counter.

Why, to troll colorblind players even more of course.

pretty sure that DbD Mobile used a very similar UI and got a lot of praise for it, so they decided to make a similar one for the PC / Console version aswell.
too bad they didnt seem to understand that just because something works fine on mobile, doesnt mean it would be a good idea to have that on the PC / Console version aswell.
and now we're gonna be stuck with this UI that is, at least in my honest opinion, vastly inferior to the one we've had all this time.

simple they want to make pc/console version looks like mobile it would explain that ugly animations which looks like someone is trying for the first time make animatnion

They said that there were a lot of new additions coming that would only be possible with the new, modular UI. They said that they could not, yet, elaborate on what those changes/additions would be.

The dev's unexplained hate toward colour blind people matches on, bulldozing everything into messy shades of red. Nobody knows why. Nobody knows what trauma was inflicted upon them in the past. All we know is that they cannot be sated, and cannot be stopped.
More seriously, you think thought went into it???

They just needed something easy and quick to do to present something "new" without creating 100 more bugs in the process...

They worked on the UI so they didn't have to balance the game.

They probably figured it's best to update the UI since the maps and animations are being updated.

To fix what isn't broken.

Probably a lot of drugs and alcohol was behind it

From what I saw from the screenshot the ui is all over the place seems kind of hectic.

The DBD mobile team got transferred over to the real game

I hate having to look literally everywhere, I can't even focus on the game
- Perks in the bottom right
- Interaction buttons on the bottom
- Item/Power/addons in the bottom left
- Hook counter on the left
- Status Icons in the top left
- Objectives on the top
- BP gain notifications in the top right
Before, everything was compact in the bottom half of the screen and you could see everything at a glance while the rest was empty for you to see the game, now it looks all spread out for no reason
