Red/Purple Keys and Maps: Chests Only
A big gripe for many killer mains I've read and listened to is the access survivors get to high tier keys and maps: especially with SwF match-ups.
A possible solution, that keeps the items unchanged, but in the game, is to remove them from the bloodweb and make them obtainable only from in game chests. This would make them incredibly rare and valuable finds, while acting as significant rewards for escaping. The difficulty and rarity of finding them would also make their use more prohibitive in general, in particular SwF, who can't rely on the bloodweb to supply them with multiple keys/maps over time.
Additionally, this could open up opportunities for the chest perks Pharmacy, Plunderer's Instinct, Dectective's Hunch, Ace in the Hole and Appraisal (either as one offs or whole builds), likely within SwF looking to score keys and/or maps.
Making this change reduces the frequency of keys/maps, while also justifying a survivor having one to begin with (you had to find one and survive to get one). Of course, if you can already item farm in private matches (I'm not sure, never played one), you would have to restrict finding them to public matches only.

Interesting idea, but what about add-ons? This is a serious a question, because there is an add-on for keys, that lets you keep a key after opening hatch. Reworking that add-on is mainly what I'm getting at.

Add-ons overall wouldn't be affected, since Green Keys and Maps would still be accessible. I'd say get rid of the add-ons, but if that wasn't acceptable, then I would make it so that the original key would be lost and replaced with a lower status key.
Example:
Milky Glass: If you open a hatch with a Skeleton Key while this add-on is attached, it is replaced by a Dull Key. If you opened a hatch using a Dull Key, it is replaced by a Broken Key.
The same would apply to Weaved Ring, instead of losing the key when dying, it's replaced by a key of a lower grade.
