Lovecraft expansion?
How about a deep one or hybrid killer? Add maps for Innsmouth and a shipwreck on a beach. Maybe have H.P. himself as the survivor?

DBD as a game is already pretty much a Lovecraft story so I'm not sure if the Devs would want to double down on their Lovecraftian horror. Lovecraft as a survivor would be hilarious but impossible, dude had serious issues.

It's funny you mention Lovecraft because I've been going on a binge of old games I purchased but didn't play. I just finished shadow of the comet and chronicle of innsmouth this week :P
Having Lovecraft in here would probably be more problems than BHVR would like. Considering how triggered the current generation gets about something that isn't politically correct. Id rather they just accept things were different in that time instead of holding him to today's standards. If Lovecraft were alive today he would be racist as hell and probably wouldn't get a publisher to print any of his works. Thing is he was born around the early 1900's. This was well before the civil rights movement. It was a different time. Not saying it was right but all I'm asking is just acknowledge things were different back then.

I could see it for maps and survivors, but not for certain killers. The Elder/Older Gods (idk what they're called) like the one in Mountains of madness couldn't work. But the smaller humanoid ones could.
Imagine this chasing you off a gen lol.

I don't think Cthulhu being imprisoned by some cosmic being to slaughter people would be... canon-able. Also, there is a size issue, to put it lightly. And you'd need something really iconic (like, say, Cthulhu) for it to really click with people as a Lovecraft thing. Visually, Demogorgon kinda fills that niche, and the Doctor's madness mechanic also exists.
As far as Lovecraft as a survivor... yeeeeeeeeeeeahhhhhhhh I don't think so. There would be way too many unfortunate implications there, insofar as his personal and political leanings. He wrote some great stories, and he was monumentally influential in terms of horror fiction, but the man himself had issues.

Maybe a deep one skin for demogorgan then. We need a killer fish man.
No doubt Lovecraft had some serious issues, but we're in a game about killers hunting and sacrificing human victims. Some might say we have issues. Why does every survivor have to be a "good" stereotype? Surely the Entity doesn't discriminate. ;)

Song of Horror had some Lovecraftian themes and I can totally see the Silence or the Requiem hunting down Sophie and Etiene in DbD
