Bamboozle Redesign:

A lot of survivor mains complain about this perk, saying it's "too overpowered". As a survivor main myself, I think this perk is "predictable". So I have an interesting change, nerf and a buff. 15 seconds is long time which makes another survivor run to a better loop. So with this change, the timer is less but it offers more.

I'm a realistic survivor main, I know what this game needs.

By default, the perk vault speed is 5/10/15% faster. The entity blocks the vault for 8/12/16 seconds but can only block one. So the change is, the killer can now vault 10/15/20% faster but the entity will now block the vault for only 3/6/9 seconds, the killer can now block off as many vaults as he wants.

This perk will now make it so the survivor reaction speeds must be much quicker, it'll make god loops slightly more favourable for the survivor but it'll make other loops much weaker, like a TL. With this change, you'll vault slightly faster to change a survivors "pathing" and to force a pallet drop. Other than a god loop, this new perk could favour killer slightly more but the penalty could be bigger if you don't catch the survivor within 9 seconds.

It's an outdated perk that comes from an era when maps where completely broken with god windows. It was meant to be a band-aid fix perk for busted design features, in full DbD style. It currently does too much on balanced setups and too little on those remaining instances when there are very closely connected tiles. For examples of the latter, middle of Suffocation Pit, or some chained loops on Coldwind.

Ideally, the maps are fixed. The perk itself makes gameplay very stale and dull. If I could rework it, I'd make it so it'd block windows (even more than 1 at the same time) after 2 vaults for 8/12/16 sec. The window(s) is(are) blocked for EVERY survivor and vaults are added up together regardless of which survivor performs them and regardless if it's in or outside chase (i.e. if 2 survivors vault the same window, that will count and trigger the blockers). However, and here comes the bamboozling, the blockers are on hold even if the vault is primed and they will spawn only if the killer enters a chase and is within 8m from the window.

Healthier than the current version, strong, and it lives up to its name of Bamboozle.

I generally don't have an issue with Bamboozle, but I agree with Bwsted that it is no longer necessary in the current game.

Map design has already been fixed to severely nerf windows. There are almost no good loops left in the entire game. Bamboozle is no longer necessary to shut off these loops, because they no longer exist. It's sort of like Undying. Undying isn't necessary anymore because totem placement has come leaps and bounds since 4 years ago.

I think Bamboozle is fine in its current form. The speed boost is really only noticable on a killer like Micheal with his faster passive vaults or Legion.

I see bambooze as a perk to use on killers who can't counter loops like Shack. It helps you get that strong pallet dropped earlier. I think making it so you can shutdown multiple routes in quick succesion would be too strong.
