Concerns about ruin/undying nerf.

I started playing some time before undying was introduced to the game and I can tell you that after its introduction I started having more fun both as killer and as survivor. As a killer i had a reason to split pressure and do lots of chases (the fun part of the game) and as a survivor i got a considerable decrease in camping killers.

Wether you think that it was busted or not, I want this style of gamplay to continue and I'm afraid that this nerf could be actually bad for the game. If that turns to be the case, please devs you need to change some base game mechanics to make sure to encourage more action.

    I think that the undying nerf is a good thing because with previous ruin undying, you're basically flipping a coin for ruin to be up for a very short time or have it last the entire game and I think this change will eliminate that problem where your totem is either cleansed at the start of the game or the end. In my opinion, the undying nerf will make the ruin undying combo less hated while also being strong and more consistent, and being able to keep tokens of perks like devour or lullaby after being cleansed is also a nice bonus.

    the entire game or 5 bones if everybody is looking for them, which can remove it and two perks lots from the killer before tier 3 corrupt wore off. mountains out of molehills, and survivors will once again wind up with what they voted for and blame it on killers lol. I've been getting more entertainment out of reading about the game than playing it ever since my queues got too long.

    I'm going to play devils advocate here and say that there are good things that come with the undying ruin nerf. It helps with the problem of having your totem taken at the beginning of the game. It also leads to a more variety in perk combos and usage since it works with token totems now like lullaby and devour hope, this is good for both killers and survivors as it leads to more unique gameplay, meaning it will be more fun. Also the aura reading is still there which is good as it help better to patrol your dull totems and see survivors easier, which can potentially help in chases.

    Although I do acknowledge your concerns.

    But that's exactly why it SHOULDN'T be nerfed. It's NOT overpowered because the totem can die in 3 seconds if it's a decent team. It's only overpowered if nobody makes an effort to find it, and if the totem is glitched (cough).

    well they took out the moris so devour seems the next logical step even though you have to work pretty hard for it compared to the ebony mori. keys won't get done till next year (or the end of this year or if the Evil Dead or Back 4 Blood versus releases in the year seem to cut into the playerbase a little bit) and will still allow escapes at only 3 or 4 gens done I bet. I'm willing to bet a little bit of non-monopoly money on that.

    Keys usually benefit organized swf more than solo players, in fact bringing it while alone can get you focused down without support and somebody hoping to steal your key. swf are the financial lifeblood of any game (even when the ultimate deathblow to it, devs or their publisher often make a killing in the shorthaul and can then reskin and start anew), which league of legends taught me, so they'll always be pandered to (which was why rito thought it was a good idea adding 3 to 5 man teams into the ranked mode at one point which was the last season I played that coming from a season 1 player of it). That is why I expect keys to still allow early escapes though moris can no longer allow early kills or level of the playing field against a toxic swf and expect devour to be rendered useless eventually.

    Wait correct me if I'm wrong but isn't undying supposed to be a place holder for your other hex perk? It doesn't matter if its cleansed first right because your main hex is still up?

    Undying is dead. Once the patch drops, no one will take it anymore. There are far better alternatives to protect other hex totems.

    Why would i run undying with ruin now tho? I better run pretty much any other strong hex with ruin and it would have more effect. Now it's only decent with hexes that scale in power over the game, haunted grounds/ruin is a much better option because at least haunted grounds has an effect.

    Survivor: No this is nonsense 5 totems too hard.
