The pallets on the game are wayyy too plentiful
Played a game as doctor and couldn't even touch survivors because as soon as id get close to survivors they would throw a pallet on me. I love the look of the map but the pallets make it basically impossible to chase survivors

Yes. Like there is even at least 5 or 6 god pallets, in my 3 games I played in that map [I played 3 trails as killer on the Assylum maps as well. A lot of corners to get stuck on and hooks look like they blend in the environment.]

The Map has literally 4 vaults and two of those are unsafe , they made the map more visible and brighter too , giving less or more unsafe pallets would make it even worse for survivors than Hawkins

Not in my RNGs I have dealt with. Pallets are close together with many super safe pallets all over the map.

I would break a pallet and look up to the survivor already waiting for me at another pallet. Very frustrating. I generally don't mind pallets and am more of a survivor player but its rough as killer. Its a shame because the map would otherwise potentially be my favorite map

I play with Windows on and my lord there is like 5 or 6 pallets and a breakable wall within 20 meters of you at any point in time.

Counted 24 in a KYF

Whats the average number of other maps?

Just played on this map again, as soon as you load in it's like... This is what you see WITHIN 20 METERS OF YOU mind you:
The map is like 50% wood.

If I counted right you have 3 or 4 pallets in the essentially a single room right below your spawn. Crazy!
10 -
And over half of those may be god pallets too hahaha
5 -
The 2 below are the old God pallets and the other is blocked by a door if the gen isnt done. But I agree there are way too many pallets

Not 24

Fun fact: deathslinger counters all but 4/5 pallets on the map

I don't mind alot of pallets. But this map is a god pallet galore. Every turn you find a god pallet and there are some pretty dumb ones too that just block you in.

Even more fun fact: Nurse counters all pallettes on the map
1 -
From what i know 8-12 is around the average on most maps.

Yes!
To quote myself on another thread about the same subject:
A lot of people talking about the map reworks: "The map design has improved so much and all the reworked maps are balanced"
The reworked map design:
Not saying all the reworked maps are bad, but they're not exactly good either. Like I think its blood lodge that has a insanely strong window even if you break the wall next to it that you can just loop until its blocked.
Now Gideon is just safe pallet town, oof.

Yeah if a map has more pallets than others thats not necessarily bad if the map size and distances between each warrants it at least imo

Honestly the amount of safe pallets and breakable walls is driving me nuts.

While i agree that there are plenty of safe pallets in this version, i like to point out the other side; The Game used to be a map where you could easily hide as survivor, i liked the map because at the bottom level there were so many line-of-sight breakers that you could easily juke most killers.
However, a lot of those options are gone in the rework. Breakable walls leave only one entrance in some sections, a lot of prior sightbreakers are now look-trough, and a lot of spaces are just widly open with few hiding options.
So i think the pallets are actually needed to prevent the map from being to killer sided. Its just sad that it became a loop circus, because it was one of the best stealth maps before.

Sometimes i think the devs dont know how safe some pallets are. On the game are too many pallets which you need to break 100%. That is boring gameplay for me.
1 -
My nurse skills are as big as my peepee.... Feels bad man :'(
1 -
Only about 4 pallets have gameplay, the rest you can just wait at and vault over, that's not including the 6-8 god pallets
1 -
I recommend to play a killer that can just destroy pallets in no time, like bubba or blight with the right addon.
1 -
Dude they finally balenced the most Killersided map on the game, don't forget that. I think it's a good change.
2 -
That is also an issue but not nearly as big of one. I think both should get resolved eventually but the pallets are a lot more crippling for killers since the map easily makes all but a couple of standard killers not viable against smart teams (and if the killers doesn't have a kit made specifically for that map)
Now we have (without specifically building for the map)
Nurse
.....maybe deathslinger?
Bubba possibly?
And thats about it

My dude you are playing doctor who can stop people from vaulting windows and throwing pallets
2 -
Bruh if you were playing doctor correctly you wouldn't have to worry about pallets. That's like 90% of his power.
2 -
Show me how to counter survivors who have 2 pallets thrown down between us and ill believe it. Shocking doesn't matter if you can't catch them and pallets are thrown down before they are within range. Shocking them and then breaking a pallet doesn't matter if you can't grab them and the other survivors don't have to worry about you when they are also surrounded by pallets
1 -
They're just all so safe, I feel like they made a few of them even more safe than before. Its really boring
2 -
Holy ######### you even have to MOVE as a killer to get some kills. God forbid that puhleeeaaaase. Lets restrict all levels to ONE single Pallet and ONE single window jumpable at diagnonally spaced locations set across the map.
Still there would be killer players howling how unfair that is....
2 -
That is something I noticed too yesterday.
The worst part is that most of them are really safe.
If it goes down you need to break them cause you won't get them.
Not even talking about the increased god pallets.
2 -
I'm not really worried about it TBH
Sure a good team will give you hell on that map, but they'd do it anywhere else, too.
The Game was one of the most killer sided maps by stats, only behind Hawkins. And Hawkins at least had the excuse of being relatively new to survivors and therefore unfamiliar to them as far as chase paths could be played out- the Saw chapter has been in the game for a LONG time.
I'd guess that devs saw something in the stats that warranted making some survivor sided changes to the map. Most of the map changes, without a doubt, have been killer sided. So I'm personally not that disturbed to see a map buffed for survivors. And this is coming from someone who doesn't really enjoy the type of chases you tend to end up having on the Game. If you have a mid or late game chase, you might just be completely screwed wherever you start the chase if someone else already blew through the pallets in the area. Once those resources are gone, they're gone, and there are very fee vaults left on the map to utilize at that point.

Yeah I think a survivor buff was definetly needed for that map in particular but they went way overboard to the other side

I'm reserving complete judgement until I play on it more. I haven't gotten the map yet since it went live, I did however play on it in the PTB.
Perhaps devs will release new map stats shortly after they finish the map reworks, and we'll get to see how much their changes effected kill rates.
In any case, seems like killer mains got traded a worse Game for a better Crotus- that map seems so insanely tiny now compared to how it used to be LOL
1 -
Yeah thats totally legit. Id encourage people to give it a try on both sides rather than just taking my word for how it is on the killer side. I have not played crotus yet I dont think (not sure i know what map that is honestly lol)

I am optimistic it can and will be adjusted as well though. Hopefully it gets fixed
