It honestly depends on what killers you face and what rank they are I usually see legions run it(which I don't blame them as it works well with feral frenzy)
Like how many others said before it's mostly used for BP farming moreso the aura info

Survivors can use Barbecue & Chili too, i.e. for rescues. I do not, as a general rule, jump into a locker when I know I'm far enough away to be revealed (unless I'm almost done with a Gen. and don't want it kicked). The point is that I know the Killer will be coming my way, I have all the head start I need, and I can choose my tiles. This will buy time for the rescuers and it will also bring the Killer to the part of the map that I want him to be on. I often, just as I do when I run Deliverance, start heading for the cleared, most distant part of the map when I see someone being picked up (and I suspect or know Barbecue & Chili is in play). I want the Killer to be as far out of position as possible, and I can make that happen simply by letting him "see" me.

Except avoiding old DS can cost you the game as killer, but as survivor standing still, working on a generator, getting in a locker, etc. to avoid BBQ will not.

You almost always see the auras of some survivors with BBQ. It's surprisingly rare when you don't, and when that happens, yes, it makes perfect sense to hang around the hook. Anything else would literally be handing the survivors an unhook.

Either, the killer gets info on where people are and leaves the hook, or he has no info of where to go and camps. Do survivors really want killers to camp more?

Simple solution, just stop camping and go patrol gens like you're supposed to... I love how everyone here is so one track minded they can't even see how flawed their logic is... it's comical as hell how blind you all are.

This is legit suggesting that aura reading perks are too OP. ######### it let’s remove half the killers perks because you think aura reading is too much of a crutch even when it rewards killers for doing their main objective. If you think that something like bbq is crutch then i just know that you like to play immersed since getting chased by the killer is the only fun part about surv at this point.

Use their senses? What game have you been playing dude. What sense should a killer use to find a p3 claud sitting in a corner somewhere pretty much invisible. Have you ever played killer? I’m guessing if you have you probably played one match at rank 20 got a 4k and thought that you didn’t need perks to destroy everyone.

BBQ is fine on most killer. but usually too good for killer that has speed or teleporting ex: freedy spirit billy. but not too much OP sometimes it fun to get killer chasing you

You realise it give the opportunity to go for the hook save whilst he goes after someone.
The perk provides an incentive to leave the hook and hunt down other survivors, it rewards killers for their objective.
If you think its OP ,you are either bias or delusional.
It can be countered in various ways , perk called distortion, can be countered by going in a locker, hiding behind a gen, running one way then the opposite way. It has so many ways of playing around it.

It isn't that bad tho, it's very counterable. But I do admit that there should be some way to know if the killer has BBQ so you don't have to play paranoid all matches.

The only work around DS is waiting 60 ######### seconds.
Oh and don't even use the "don't tunnel"excuse.
I got ds'd at the 59th second while they were working on a generator and I was in 2 other chases before that so I clearly wasn't tunneling

And you know what's funny it's how they defend ds one of the most crutch survivor perks to exist but cries and moans over a little aura revealing perk that rewards BP for hooking survivors like do they not see how hypocritical they are being?
It's very obvious that post saying they played during the beta and has tons of time as both killer and survivor is a blatant lie to try and sound like they know what they're doing when it's VERY clear that they don't they are probably the Claudette that hides in the corners of the map petrified of playing the game

BBQ also helps when the last survivor is deep into immersion and just crouches behind a tree for 30 minutes, taking the game hostage.

How the hell is BBQ "cheating"? Are you listening to yourself? What do you even mean by "patrolling gens and using headphones"? Do you even know how this perk works? It's not like it gives you wallhacks for a whole match, it literally gives you an idea where a survivor might be from a heck ton of meters away. You can EASILY hide or change your position as a survivor. I don't really get why are you crying so much about a perk that is so easy to counter. I bet you were the one who cried the most when they added undying. Stop complaining and just get better at the game, survivors have a lot of meta perks that I bet you use every match. The only one here with zero IQ is you, and that's pretty sad to see.

Everyone here can tell that you're an entitled surv main that can't run the killer for ######### and is crying about not being able to play immersed. You're saying that we are grasping at straws? Ok buddy, you have 3500 hours on this game and you're saying that bbq is op? Thought that survs with a lot of hours could run the killer for more than two seconds for some reason.... Oh well you're the proof that not all ppl with a lot of hours on this game are actually good. If 4 seconds of aura reading for doing your objective op then why don't i see any discussions about dark sense needing a nerf? Oh yeah because it doesn't and neither does bbq. IF (and that's a big IF) you have 3500 hours on this game ten you should know that the killer can only chase one person at a time. During that chase the 2 other survs are free to do whatever they want. One usually goes for the save and one will be on a gen but wait! You want at least 4 people on gens constantly and the killer roaming around like a dumbass don't you? Ah well can't complain with that logic then :)

When killers don't see someone with bbq they usually think everyone went into a locker (myself included) then they go back to patrolling gens or taking 10 ######### seconds to check around a bush or two. You can counter that by being stealthy if you don't like chases. I use kindred so I can see when a killer is coming my way. I wait 5 seconds, then I walk in a different direction, usually to the hooked person. It sounds weird but for me it's easier to not get seen when they use BBQ

Bbq has a ton of replacements. Right off the bat: Thrilling Tremors, Surveillance, and Bitter Murmur.
Bbq is a perfectly balanced perk with a bunch of counter play. If you refuse to do it, then that's on you.

Like there are better aura revealing perks legit it's balanced and the only reason why it's used over the other perks is because of how useful it is paired with the bp bonus
Hell I would still use it if was just a 2x-3x BP perk
