Literally don't like the new update, UI is to spreaded out, the animation of the survivors, I think it was better when they were hunched over while standing and how they look now when their injured and running, yeah that's gonna be a no from me dawg.

I have never seen a thread explode in popularity this fast, because of this impute along with others the devs are forced to acknowledge that nearly all of the community doesn't like the UI and parts of the animations among other things.

I have two complaints and one suggestion
#1 - why is everything everywhere and disjointed? Looking at the top of the screen for the gen count is annoying at minimum. And to have it so far away from all other information! At least put it closer to the survivors. That info is freaking valuable and needs to be clustered.
#2 - if you're changing the hud with the character portraits, etc, then just use the same one for both sides. I know I'm in the minority in this specifically but there is zero reason to not have the hook tallys for the killer if you have them for the survivors. Why would you separate out that functionality? It doesn't even make sense. You made more dumb work for yourselves. Seriously. For killers who don't want to tunnel and have 4 blendettes, no, I can't tell which ones I've hooked. I don't like tunneling. Give me a damn tool to help me not tunnel!
A suggestion - put power/item information closer to, if not in the same area as, perks. That way if I'm watching my perks (whispers as an example) I can also easily tell how many traps I have (as pig as an example). Better yet, just let us put what info we want where on the screen. That'd be the best out of all of it.

I cannot believe how badly they screwed this game up. I appreciate the devs for making the game and for their work, and I want this game to be successful, which is why I'm so, so disappointed by this update. I love this game, but I have uninstalled it and probably won't be playing much, if at all, until the UI at least is changed, and hopefully the animations, breakable walls, ten billion bugs, and other glaring issues as well.

Not saying this out of malice, but it's time for people to speak loudly by just not playing anymore for a while until they take swift action. It's the best way to the fastest solution.

Agreed. Haven't touched the game since the update released and I don't plan on touching it until it's fixed

There are so many problems with this game in my opinion, and yes these were not one of them.

If they could build this one everyone hates, they can get started right away building a new one that is more palatable and not reviled. I understand they may have scrapped the old system but they can always move forward building a new one that is more acceptable to the entire DbD community.

It's just the HUD, not such a big deal to gripe about. It doesn't change the way the game is being played.. Anyone who could complain about such a low priority feature doesn't deserve to play video games.

I don’t follow the testing branch, but usually log on and play 10 - 15 matches after work per day. Logged in today and see there’s an update. Get into my first game and see these terrible changes - it’s literally like a different game (and I don’t mean that in a good way). It seems silly I know, but I can’t even bring myself to play anymore.

It's real bad now. I can barely keep up instead of the old easy to understand organization it's all over the place and hard to see.
I appreciate the devs efforts but it might be the worst thing to ever happen to this game so far. I hope they fix it.

I signed in to complain about the update UI but I decided to up vote this instead. Occasionally, BHVR sends out survey invites. BHVR could have considered sending a survey or something for this very purpose.

IMO I love the new HUD.
It makes it look less clunkier. Yes there are some issues like how can I tell if they are injured etc.
But otherwise it is a fairly good HUD. I love how clean it looks. It gives it more of a realism aspect to the HUD. (Example: CoD Zombies HUD, Alien Isolation HUD, etc.)
Like it's less clunked together and more pleasing for the eyes imo.
But yes we need to have an update to customize the HUD the way we want to. To place where we want certain pieces etc.

I'm all for the change but they really messed up here the information I need is all over the screen as well as trying to keep an eye out for killers who are sneaking up on me is just overwhelming I'm sure given time it'll get easier but it really annoys me how I feel like I'm playing a phone game on a TV it shouldn't feel like that at all.

I was complaining about it as someone looking to return to DbD when things got better. I know how garbage it is just by hearing about it.

I'm a console player and I don't mind it. I'll get used to it and not cry online because my game was changed slightly and threatening too stop playing because they moved a bar.

So it was initially a lie that they couldn't revert the changes, to now they can revert the changes but they dont want to cause it would require actual time and work.

That image is pretty much perfect. Solves the "which name is what character" problem, and doesnt clash with the rest of the Ui like the character render portraits.

I'm not the first one whose said this but, they pitched the idea to their higher ups and they have to make them think that it was worth the investment. Otherwise, it would just be "hey you remember all the work we did the last 2 months? Well the people dont like it so were just gunna scrap it. I'd still like my paycheck next tuesday though" that wouldn't go over well

Yeah, they could've stopped it instead of fully commiting to it but they decided to be stubborn... Also, that's not how coding works anyways. The old UI system doesn't just vanish or doesn't work anymore. They can revert it, they just don't want to.

I really like the new graphics on the maps but ur right the new UI is terrible! Please put it back the way it was and keep the new icons it's way too spread out if ur playing on a bigger screen u literally have to move ur head around just to see everything the old version was far superior

Exactly we're not complaining because we want to play another game we're passionate about this game and we want the best version of it and the new UI isn't working hopefully the devs will listen to their community and change it back or give option to use old version or new version.

If they can't revert it then they were never able to change it in the first place. They're just saying they can't because they don't want to have to undo all the work they did. The work that literally no one asked for.
But saying "oh no we can't do that now" is a cop-out, they can, they just don't want to.

Why is the new UI all over the place? They didnt need to put the player on the top left and gen remaining in the top middle....keep the layout the same!! Just move it to its original location and its all good. Honestly i preffer the old UI its not an improvement at all my opinion...

Normal people may not be able to start playing the new patch as soon as it drops which obviously would delay their feedback. Meanwhile it's the job of Youtubers and Twitch streamers to cover the new content ASAP.

Things I hate
- How everything is spread out to the 4 corners of the screen. I prefer all my essential information in one area thank you very much.
- The color photos. I would of preferred simple high-contrast profiles much like you see in the original post.
What I like
- I prefer the slash across the photo when I do damage. That is pretty neat and thematically cool..
- I like the hook counter a LOT. I hope this stays.
- I noticed as doc that the madness levels are much easier to read with this new UI
Honestly, just let us customize where we put our UI elements are and I think most of us would be satisfied. While what you have probably works for mobile, it's not great for those of us who play on bigger screens. I mean, I hate it on my 32 inch monitor, I feel bad for the console players who have a decent big-screen to play on.
