People are sleeping on Devour Hope + Undying.
I've been playing survivor like crazy these past few days and seriously haven't encountered it once. I started playing killer today and was using it with clown and it has not failed me once yet. I seriously got to mori blendettes who haven't been hooked once the whole match because of it. Don't sleep on it!

Sleeping on this OP combo!
1/4 games you will get a mori or two off and the other 3/4 you will have 2 perks!

Yep
11 -
I have not seen his combo so far in game.
I am still getting tons of Hex Ruin players.
In fact I see Ruin+Devour more often than Devour + Undying.
2 -
I know it will be used a lot eventually
0 -
That has not been my experience at all. Sorry you got 3 games of bad RNG.
0 -
Well be my guest and continue to not use it lol. Like I said it's gotten me value in every single game i've played 2 totems of devour is pretty damn powerful.
1 -
You haven't seen it because it's overrated and not actually good.
10 -
The problem is that all survivors have to do is cleanse 2 totems. So unless you get a map like Midwich and get super hidden totem spawns, it's not that difficult for survivors to remove both perks and leave you with only 2 perks left.
Devour Hope also does nothing until you get at least 2 stacks, but it's really all about that 3rd stack powerspike. Old Undying at least forced survivors to cleanse both lit and unlit totems.
7 -
There's nothing to sleep on.
6 -
Maybe I would use them if I could find some survivors that refuse to do bones. Sadly I only see them on the forum. Hexes are just what you pick when you think 4 perks are to much for an entire match.
6 -
I have yet to get Devour to let me Mori someone. I literally cannot keep the #$%$ing thing in the game. It gets cleansed EVERY SINGLE GAME.
1 -
Devour hope(DH) combos are noob traps:
They are extremely unreliable as they require the survivors to play in a specific way IE:Not dive bombing the hook before you can even leave.
Map specific as good luck getting DH off on "The Game".
Killer specific as non M1 killers don't get the instant downs.
Requires survivors not to spawn next to ANY of the pieces.
Requires survivors to not find the hex totem once it reaches 3 stacks as they have no reason to try to do gens at that point only totems.
Trust me these aren't even all the downsides of the build.
Ps. I keep DH on my wraith as my memey hail marry and there are so many games where it does nothing no matter how well I try to protect it.
4 -
I have destroyed it every time while doing my rift challenges.
2 -
I've been running it on my Ghostface lately and while it's fun, sometimes, the survivors spawn on your totems or find them really easily which leaves me with just BBQ and Pop for the rest of the match. Fun but still a gamble.

I played 5 or 6 games using it. There wasn't a single game where it wasn't cleansed before at least 3 tokens but usually when it got to 3 and it was revealed they cleansed it pretty quickly. Other times I was able to get to 5 and I sometimes downed 3 people at 3 stacks.

Iโm annoyed that Undying is bugged. It transfers Devour tokens, but not Lullaby or Third Seal tokens.
3 -
Facts, I just tried it for the first time and had 2 perks for almost the whole trial.
2 -
Update: I just went against it with a spirit and it destroyed my team.
0 -
I assumed many people would be running it and trying it out, so I keep on running a build with both Detective's Hunch and Inner Strength. I have yet to meet the Devour Hope and Undying combo in-game.
1 -
That's more due to Spirit being broken than Undying/DH being broken.
6 -
Well there were 2 gens left and everyone healthy. We were in a good position but then DH kicked in and we couldn't find the totems.
0 -
I've been using it a lot ... And I find it to be utterly useless. Running devour alone is better sine you don't risk playing with 2 perks
5 -
They made totem spawns easier to see. As already shown, the totems spawn out in the open or next to gens.
So unless they reverse this, hex perks are useless.
Undying is gone. You get more protection for Devour, when you use Thrill or Haunted Grounds.
4 -
my totems kept spawning in front of gens. i've been running it nonstop and have yet gotten it to 5 yet. they always get cleansed in the first 80 seconds
3 -
You've been playing this game long enough to know that isn't true.
Totem spawns have been improved significantly in the last several years.
Calling your BS out on this one.
0 -
Yeah i have been playing long enough to memorise totem spawns. For example: first totems spawned at the beginning of the small hills we have in almost every match. Then they moved the spawn to be slightlighly hidden in the "pocket" of the hill and now the totems spawn 1 meter in front of the hill or on top of the hill.
2 -
When it works, it's *chef's kiss*.
0 -
Add this one to that "amazing totem spawn collection" lol
6 -
I think its a good combo dependant on killer. Trap killers and high mobility killers that can defend the lit totems well can use it nicely.
0 -
I saw a lot of Undying/Devour yesterday. Even though Undying was "destroyed" it's funny that I'm seeing it just as often as I did before lol
0 -
Except, you know, thereโs no real way to defend them anymore because you will have no idea people are on them.
The only person who can really defend it is trapper. And it can just spawn in the open with no way to trap it.
Hag doesnโt want to defend 2 totems unless you are doing mint rag cheese and then Thrill of the hunt would be way better.
0 -
I mean thereโs too many to list honestly. Like 75% of the totem spawns are super obvious.
5 -
I really like the fact that they 'upgraded' Undying to transfer tokens. Now I finally manage to get 5 stacks on a regulary base on my impossible skill check builds with Huntress Lullaby. It is pretty strong on Doc but also on other killers. I know decent players still hit the skillchecks, but the have to pay close attention to the middle of their screen. Giving me as a killer a fraction more time to get closer before they see me. On red ranks this can make a huge difference.
To get a 50/50 chance late game, I sometimes combine huntress lullaby with devour hope. Quiet fun and I have to adept how to play according to the RNG. Keeps it fresh every game.
1 -
undying is not worth it right now because if a survivor walks past a dull totem it will tell them that they are cursed by undying and they will know that you have another totem you want to protect
3 -
What the actual #########. Totems man
3 -
I've experimented with it in a number of matches (currently I'm Rank 3 at killer), and my success rate with the combo has been pretty good. I've only had one or two games where the totems were broken early (one game, a player brought a map -- another, someone was running Detective's Hunch) -- most, I actually do get to 3 tokens and get at least one insta-down. Several games, I've been able to snowball like crazy and it's literally been game-changing. I've run it mostly on Wraith (pairing it with Make Your Choice, giving me one-shot down capability for a ton of the match), but it's even gone well on a low-mobility killer like The Pig.
There are plenty of games I've had where survivors simply refuse to do totems, especially when they know Ruin isn't a thing. This match I had with the Pig on Hawkins (where I burned a map offering, hoping for good totem spawns), my two totems were actually not that well hidden (they were both in the long corridors, but pretty easy to spot) is a perfect example of "When it works, it works WELL". Obviously, every game won't be on a favorable map (though, again, I don't think either of these spawns in this match were terribly great), but the combo definitely has potential to end games quickly when things go well.
0 -
or, much more likely, you had 3 games of good RNG :)
4 -
It's fun when it works, but unreliable as hell.
1 -
with 1 transfer all undying combos are gone 1-2 minutes after the start of the match
0 -
Yeah sure it's cool
Unless your totem is right in the middle of a obvious place OR a survivor with a high IQ runs past a dull totem and gets cursed by Undying (who is the idiot that made it do that) so they know now you have another Hex.
3 -
That's because those perks don't use tokens. This token transfer business only works with Devour and nothing else by design! It's just meant to distract from the nerf.
1 -
No... No one is sleeping on it. Some Killers are actually creative and play FUN builds. Not the "I WuN wHaT mAh FaVwItE StRiM3r LiKeS". Be creative and have fun. Stop running rediculous #########.
1 -
I've been trying undying and devour the thing is though most of the time the totems spam next to gens or inside the killer shack. Its strong but can be taken out early.

Well, as I said in another thread, the REALLY good players in the game won't be sleeping on it. I was expecting to see a video like this from OhTofu, and he did not disappoint. ๐
As he usually does, he played two games (this morning, right after rank reset). In both games, something unusual happened (a person who killed themselves on 2nd hook in the 1st game, someone doing the reset pallet challenge in the 2nd), BUT he was NOT on maps with great totem spawns (like a Midwich, Hawkins, etc.), and due to some terrible totem locations/survivor spawns near them (on the 2st game on the Farm map in particular), he lost a totem almost immediately -- and still got to 5 stacks in both games.
The Rank 1 who's been playing since the Beta of the game thinks it's potentially a game-breaking combo (and he explains why at the end of the video -- it's for the same reasons I've thought so). My opinion has been that very good killer players will be able to take advantage of the snowball potential out of nowhere this combo provides (even if they're not playing a high-mobility killer). I think I might trust his opinion and experience on this one. ๐

that badham preschool one is very dated
the game one has been moved into the corner so its a little more hidden if it spawns there (it can also spawn in the room above which is decently hidden
hawkins only has like 2 bad totem spawns the rest are extremely well hidden
0 -
I'm sorry but the survivors in this video were absolutely terrible.
It's not even close to game breaking, but rather extremely RNG dependent.
Get any map that isn't indoor or Dead Dawg Saloon and your totems are usually gone quite early in the game before you get any real use out of them
0 -
I have run this about 30 games with Devour for fun and have to agree - the combo only works in the lower ranks. You either spend your time guarding the totems too much which reduces early hooks or you lose them.
1 -
I'm sorry but most killer would agree that losing 2 perk slots in the first minutes of your game isn't really fun
0 -
What I don't get is most people commenting that it's bad are the same people who used ruin + undying constantly when they complained that it went down in 2 totems anyway. People gotta pick a lane.
0 -
I used it once after the change. (mostly because I'm still catching up on tome 4 and had a devour hope thing to do...taking a break does that)
It activated and I mori'ed one person.
the other 2 that were still alive instantly quitted ๐
