What do you mean give the devs a break? Bruh?

This isn't a free game. We paid for this.

BHVR is a multi million dollar company, do you still think they should have a "break"? (This has been going for more than a week now)

We give them money and this is what we get in return, how do you think Riot Games managed to be one of the MOST successful gaming company? By delaying every hotfix and releasing ######### without testing?

Under-promise, over-deliver. That's generally a good way to manage community expectations.

If they said "Hey guys, we're working on a colorblind feature, don't worry! We don't have an ETA yet but know that we're working on it." like three months would pass before people start complaining on the forum about it not being ready yet. Then let's imagine they finally release the feature, but all aspects of it aren't done yet; let's say they had planned to make scratch marks more visible and update the UI, for example, but they had only finished the UI updates so far. Then they release the feature and the community gets mad because they were told the scratch marks were going to get updated too. No matter that those changes are still coming, and no matter that it would have been even worse for colorblind players if the devs had held up the UI changes just to get everything in the same patch.

Imagine if they committed to transparency, as you're asking for, and straight up had a public bug/feature tracker and also frequently updated the community on their priorities. The community would then get mad at them for not prioritizing some bugs/features highly enough, or for reducing the scope of something that would have been cool, or for taking too long on certain things that look simple, etc. They would be in damage control mode constantly.

There is basically one option in which the community doesn't pillory them: Don't communicate, or communicate the bare minimum, about anything that you can't absolutely commit to for an upcoming release. That way, if the project scope, priority, etc. change you don't fail to meet expectations that you yourself set.

If DBD were closer to an indie game, sure, the community would probably be much more kind and forgiving and the devs would be able to be more transparent without risking a PR nightmare. Big games with large and negative communities like DBD do not have this luxury.

Lol dont you think riot is a pretty big exaggeration? Backlash (done civilly) pressures them to fix things. These devs need it more than anything. Without the backlash survs would still be incredibly overpowered and well, we'd have to get used to this patch.

If you make a lot of poor choices, expect backlash and criticism. Unfortunately, these devs make a lot of bad choices. If they wanna be greedy and waste time making over priced cosmetic designs instead of fixing things like matchmaking and ranking, they can suffer the consequences.

Idc if separate teams focus in different areas, they both arent doing very good jobs and clearly need to spend more money on higher quality professionals.
