Mouse and Keyboard Console Support
Good day. I just wanted to ask if theres anything changed for console players, so we can use mouse and keyboard?
Im main Killer and its horrible to play in first person view with a controller! Tried to play Nurse and you cant even see your target fast enough after second blink, because controller movement is still slow and imo garbage compared to mouse precision.
Many players on console want mouse and keyboard support so bad because this makes consoles gameplay nearly equal as pc quality of gameplay.
Im literally forced to play spirit 24/7 as they cant react properly even to my controller movement whatsoever. This isn't fun and the Game has much more to offer which is locked behind mouse and keyboard for many players on Console (Yes, im looking at you Nurse, Deathslinger and Huntress!)
This Thread is not about getting good with Controller. Its about you can good as much as you want, you will never get as precise movement with a Thumbstick as you will get with Mouse.
I love this Game tho and this is the reason im writing this down. I want Equality for Crossplay. For PC and Consoles and there for we need MnKB Support.
Uhm btw. Xbox players cant turn off Crossplay bc you literally will never find lobbies. I dont know how it is on Playstation with bigger Playerbase and so on but this is another point which comes with that topic in terms of Game Balancing and Mnkb Support.

Priorities should be to finally optimize the game so EVERY plattform has at least stable 60fps (as promised a long time ago).
Then we can talk about M&K support again. Because M&K support or higher sensivity doesn't make sense when you have bad fps anyway.

The FPS fix is called PS5 and XBOX Series X. I fully expect bhvr to drop older gen support some point in the near future.

Its off topic but You're right. Thats ofc a big Problem. Im on Xbox Series X right now and besides that firework from the event when you hook someone, i got no issues with framerate whatsoever. On the old gen (ps4, xbox one) i can imagine it can be very frustrating with fps drops etc.

So those of us still on the prior gen consoles who have been waiting for that 60 fps goal from like Spring 2019 should just go away?
Many of us do not have $500 for a newer console that is still hardly available anyway. What about our Switch cousins they have it even worse?
And I though the devs said they had no intention to drop support for any platform? We all need better optimization!

That's just how it is though
Remember Patch 4.3.0 ?(or 4.3.1,not sure which one it was exactly).
That patch completely destroyed our FPS and the devs supposedly didn't notice while testing that update.
Switch was just a cashgrab honestly.They don't care about last gen console/low end pc performance.
Either pay 500$ for a next gen console or deal with it.
Quite pathetic but what do you expect from BHVR ar this point?

Whichever of those patches brought in Blight gave most Xbox1x's like mine a wonderful insta-overheat issue, making the game unplayable until the following patch. Like you said, missed during testing I guess.

Did you played DbD on Series X or PS5 yet? FPS even got worse, at least on Series X.
Can't tell about PS5, can't afford both.
Sorry for the OT, but i can tell you won't get anything with M&K if you're fps still drops down to 15.

I dont think thats even legal to sell a product, then turn around and cut off support. Its one thing if the servers shut down or something due to the game failing, another to do what you suggested. They sold a game under the live service model, so they have to provide the service.

Ofc you can. Thats not the Problem. The Problem is, you are less competetive with Controller compared to mouse precision. This means you cant aim as accurate with your TP as if you got a mouse and thats the issue but as i said not only Nurse is a Character which is reliant on precise aiming/ crosshair positioning (whatever you want to call it).
With Crossplay on, this can be a bit difficult, because the game is designed for mouse and keyboard and thats how they balance the characters & perks. The Devs assume you are able to pull off the mechanics with mouse precision and thats how it affect your gameplay overall.

If the product is no longer supported they can. BHVR has drop all support for Windows 7 and 8(.1) because they are no longer supported by Microsoft. Once Microsoft and Sony end the life of XBOX One and PS4 so does any support for games on that platform.
Also there's no contract stating BHVR must provide updates and support. You buy the game as-is with no guarantee of future support.

You dont buy the game though, you buy the rights to PLAY the game. A live services game like DBD isnt playable without support. Theres no offline mode or anything.

None of that says services will be terminated, merely that they cant guarantee connection at ALL times (Servers might be down for maintenance, connection might be spotty, ect). "BHVR PROVIDES THE GAME AND BHVR SERVICES ON A COMMERCIALLY REASONABLE BASIS". Complete termination of services immediately after selling said services is NOT reasonable. That would be like me selling you a car, then throwing a hand grenade under the hood and pointing to the "AS IS" sticker on the windshield.

Mouse and keyboard needs to be added, it doesn’t make sense for a fully cross platform game to not have it. They should also work on cross progression so if I want to use mouse and keyboard I don’t have to work on a different account on pc.

The solution is Xim Apex it allows emulate a mouse and keyboard in 90% (not are optimized to DBD) but I can guarantee is better than playing with gamepad.
These videos show is a very good experience.

i got xim apex but in the xim forum staff is saying it wont work well enough to support the game so you have to take ither profiles which are not ment to work for DBD. This is because there is a weird acceleration built into the game mechanics so Xim Apex cant be the answere for that major problem.
tbh i wont try it out bc this wont work very well. Also i dont know if this is fully legal or banable in any way.
So the devs are meant to bring this feature. It cant be that hard to implement this feature for consoles, if they already got the code for that. They probably only need to translate it and tweak it for a good functionality. This could surely be done in a few hours or less by 1 person.
