That's brownie point chasing ..this is for the Twitter mob..which means they'll overdo it and make a bigger deal of it than it deserves to be..and the character will end up half baked as a result..seen it before

Then you just haven't been here long enough, sorry. There's always an upheaval when licensed chapters are released, though it depends a bit on how many fans of that franchise are on the forum.

No, appealing to a wider demographic is basic capitalism. You want your product to sell, after all.
The character will end up just fine. I'd make a bet with you, but I doubt we'd agree on what "just fine" means in the first place.

I been viewing forums hmm I think just after plague release? Maybe something like that and page 1 usually a couple posts then most someone cry about generator, noed or ruin those were fun posts to read. This is also fun to read tbh.

Interesting thought: Had you put 1 single letter in between the "o" and "r" your statement would make just as much sense as if you had said "more" because a person has to be a total "ogre" to say "LGBTQ+ characters were yuck" in 2021.
Then again I'm sure even Shrek is mature enough to respect EVERY type of sexuality.

Mhm..and tell me..how many chapters got this much build up..?, how many chapters celebrated the straight nature of characters..? None..like I said..they're going to push too far to make the character stand out but feel fake

This is all the forumgoers' doing, BHVR has nothing to do with it. They released some teasers and made vague comments, that's it. However, a lot of chapters got this much build up. For example, Silent Hill.

The more of a big deal this LGBT conversation gets the more anxiety I get about the impending release. Like yo being LGBT is really not THAT big of a deal. Like I feel pretty well represented these days in general as someone who is LGBT, gay marriage has been legal for a really long time (Something I did take advantage of BTW.) We've already dealt with homophobia as a tabboo subject for a super long time now and people are pretty comfortable with it as a whole.
If they're gay they're gay, if they're not they're not. Just get on with it yo. I'm not going to resonnate with a gay character just because they're gay, I'm going to resonate with them because of things I can relate to beyond that. Besides with the power of fanfiction everyone is gay already anyways.

We've already dealt with homophobia as a tabboo subject for a super long time now and people are pretty comfortable with it as a whole.
There are entire groups dedicated to homophobia, racism, and other distasteful things. Just because you no longer experience them on a daily basis doesn't mean they've been solved.

I've been playing regularly since June. Since June, every time there's a teaser, there are at least 2-3 threads asking about LGBT characters. I know, because I comment in them frequently, as it's a topic near and dear to my heart.

I don't think nobody cares about it. But many players are concern about them giving us a boring low tier killer and 6 boring useless perks BUT WE ARE INCLUSIVE!!!!!!

Silent hill...? We got 1 teaser image..my point is this is severe overhyping as it's the survivor they're teasing ..thats a red flag in itself for a non license

Hon, gay marriage in the US has only been legal for roughly 8 years. And CA was the second state to legalize it.
I got married in Iowa before it was nationwide as well. Iowa was like, the 5th or 6th state to allow it. We were married in 2014 and I think it was 2013 that it was legalized in Iowa. Maybe I'm older I have more perspective, but even 10 years (it's been nowhere near 10 years, mind you) is still not "a long time".

It's the same group of people every time though..doesn't say much..look I'm not saying a character of different orientations are bad, but it is bad when that's all the character is instead of it just being background info and part of the lore

That was a license and a killer...this is the survivor for an original chapter -_-... quite the difference..this has already been hyped way more than necessary

but we have literally no idea what the background or lore is. We literally don't even know if this person is an LGBT character. Also, even if it's the same group of people, how is that bad? Just because it's the same group of people doesn't negate their desires for the game.

Thanks at least you are civil. This forum seem really toxic now though, really discourages viewers from commenting when they have to tread on eggshell or be labelled as stuff they aren't. I don't try to label anyone, everyone is person of equal worth to me.

The drama and the controversy that people keep trying to stir up in this community is getting annoying at this point, stop remaking posts and try to be original at some point. Why is it that the mods allow this anyway? If you want to talk about this same subject simply reply to the original thread that started all of it, not make a whole post again. It seems like people just want to farm forum badges, while getting people into the same mentality which makes them remake a post on the whole LGBTQ situation and people's thoughts on it. They should really close threads like these, it's getting really annoying seeing the same subject pop up from time to time. Some argue "well LGBTQ representation wouldn't do the game justice because they're not looking at game balancing, just more content to the game" I get that argument but seriously y'all, why does this topic have to be kept going and going, we're not continuing progress we're just stuck in a loop at this point.
