A Fun Gamemode Idea: Entity's Gamble

In Entity's Gamble, all survivors and the killer will receive random perks, items and addons.

Survivors:

  • Each will gain a random perk, but this is controlled random.
  • The game randomly chooses an available survivor for you.
  • The first perk you get is always related to what survivor your playing as. (Example, Dwight gets either Bond, Leader or Prove Thyself as his first perk.)
  • The other three perks are random. HOWEVER, THERE CANNOT BE MORE THAN 1 IN EACH TEAM. (Example, Borrowed Time on 2 survivors is not possible.)
  • There also cannot be more than one of the same survivors on the team.
  • You'll get a random item of any tier, with random add-ons. NO SKELETON KEY, NO BLACK KEY.

Killers:

  • Perks are randomly given.
  • The killer is also randomly chosen.
  • The first perk is always related to what killer your playing as. (Example, Nurse either gets Nurse's Calling, Thanaphobia or Strydor as her first perk.
  • You'll receive random add-ons. The first addon will always be yellow or higher.

The Trial:

  • The map is randomly chosen!
  • 3 offerings are chosen at random! (No duplicates, no multiple moris, no ebony mori, no point boosters.)
  • Endgame blood points are tripled to compensate for the chaos and promote fun.

    I like the idea.

My only problem with this is.. Survivors are just reskins of one another, playing as a different one won't matter.

Playing as a random killer might be a problem for some. Not everyone is at ease with every killer. But then again.. I guess it's no worse than leveling up a new killer and using up whatever the entity decides to give you in the bloodweb. I've been leveling a few different killers lately and I sure ain't getting the perks I wish I were, so I make do with what I have, and honestly, I enjoyed using some of the perks I got forced to use cause the rest sucked. (And if all else fails, just play the killer as an m1 killer and ignore the power completely, I know that's what I do on killers I just cant get the power to work right.. or I overuse it to get used to how it works, and dont care if I win or lose)

One question though.. The random perks would be picked from what you have unlocked on the random character you get assigned? Or out of the entire pool of perks available for you in the web even if you didn't unlock them on the random character you end up getting?

1: I mentioned the survivor that was chosen for you is guaranteed to have their first perk that comes with them. (Eg. Laurie will always get 1 of 3 of her unique perks.) Almost like makes them feel more unique due to the no duplicate perks rule for the survivor teams.

2: All perks and characters are unlocked and at level 3 to prevent unfairness among newer and older players, it can feature dlc perks that the player doesn’t even own.

3: This gamemode is designed to throw in chaoticness, encourages players to try different killers and different perk sets. Even when losing the triple bp makes up for it.

Yeah see, the part where your idea fails is where you say everything is included, even things you don't own. They'll never go along with that. But heck if you want to play that mode you can do it in kill your friends, you have access to everything except the characters you didn't buy (but their perks are available) and run randomizers for the builds, just need to trust people not to cheat.

I think this cound be fun. I agree, I think all perks should be lvl 3, but I don’t think you should be able to get perks from survivors/killers you don’t own, unless you bought the perk in the shrine.

And since this would be a gamemode, I don’t think ‘getting a killer you are not comfortable with’ is an issue. That sort of seems like the point of it, too me :)

Besides, there could be variations; a mode where only the perks and items are randomised, and one where the survivor/killer is random as well.

    A. What is a Black Key?

    B. I think this would work best if you could bound the randomness with killer/survivor classes, e.g. Dwight being a support, Meg being a runner, Myers being stealth, Pinhead being control, et al.

I would be 100% down for this mode I really enjoy the mystery hero mode in Overwatch and this random mode on DBD would be awesome.
