Trickster killed completely for me the mood of dbd
Since the PTB launch I played a lot of matches against and honestly the trickster is the only killer that...completely doesn't give me any kind of form of pressure to win against him. He completely doesn't fit for me as the killer and it honestly feels like running from the psycho fan or some other ######### like that. His power is also tedious and meaningless. It's basically nerfed hacking huntress and completely doesn't bring any new content to the game.
In short: I don't have any fun playing against him, because he seems off to me as the killer and his power is completely boring and copy pasta. Same with playing with him.
This is honestly be the only killer that I will suicide/try 4% against him.

I know most of you all will say propably something like: "Oh it's just a first few days, give him some time. You'll get used to him. Stop crying baby survivor"
This killer doesn't disturb me or frighten in any way. This is literally the FIRST killer that I complain about his overall appearence. And escaping against something that is disturbing, scary or grotesque was one of the main reason why I loved the dbd.
4 -
And?
18 -
And I share my opinion about it? Why do you even comment if you don't care lmao
7 -
Read his lore. He's a complete maniac.
Plus, you really think dbd killers are scary? lol
24 -
I've played dbd since 2017, at this point no killer disturbs or frightens me and back in 2017 nothing bar Myers did that either.
I really like the new killers appearance and i hope they dont change it at all because people are moaning about it, because we have plenty of dumb silly skins for both sides that don't 'fit the theme' of dbd
4 -
Pyramid Head? Ghost Face, Myers, Pig jumpsaceres?
Disturbing killers like twins? Legion's halloween skin that is distrubly grotesque?
I readed his lore and it didn't affect me in any way.
2 -
Skins are optional, and playing against some killer is not.
1 -
I find none of the said killers "scary".
Apart from the cheap jump scare Myers or ghost face give me sometimes. But i haven't had those in a loooong time.
And you read his lore and he is like a normal person to you?
3 -
You're entitled to your opinion, just like everyone.
I'd argue that the Trickster is a breath of fresh air because of how normal he looks, that's the niche, that's what makes him unique. That's the scary thing. He's an incredibly handsome pop star who is arguably just as evil as the Doctor, perhaps even more so. That's the fear factor. He could be on the same subway car as you, sitting next to you, and you wouldn't suspect him at all. If you don't like that type of horror, c'est la vie, so be it. I think it's genius.
22 -
This. Just this.
7 -
Well, maybe everyone has their own opinion?
0 -
Most people don't think about lore when playing against him. He just looks silly (imo). I laughed when I first seen him. His running animation looks goofy as well. I just don't think he fits the theme of DBD... at all.
2 -
That's exactly what I said. I also threw in my two cents as to why I think you're wrong. :)
12 -
Well, you can't like everything, right?
Also, people deciding on 1 or 2 things to suicide on is what makes the solo experience trash.
If most people have one, you're gonna have dcs/suicides every game. Lame bro
2 -
You are entitled to your own opinion.
There are many different things that are scary than just a hack and slash deformed giant chasing you.
I really like his story and look. It's a classic "looks can be deceiving" type of Killer. Not to mention the survivors story is incredibly dark. Ignoring obvious warning signs to further your career and sacrificing morality for success.
Really cool chapter idea with unique spins on horror. Last chapter was body horror with Twins, this is more psychological imo.

Exactly, you get it entirely. Year 5 as a whole has been a year of firsts so it doesn't surprise they're closing it off with a total curveball.
- Silent Hill - No explanation necessary.
- Descend Beyond - First survivor turned killer that we know of and the first survivor from the Pariahs
- A Binding of Kin - First killer with two character models that can be used simultaneously ingame and covers the body horror/zombie baby trope.
- All Kill - First killer who looks totally normal if you take away the baseball bat and wipe the blood off of him.

People have different tastes. But don't talk like he ruins the whole mood od DbD. He's a killer. He's acting eccentric and psychopatic. In his lore it's said he loves to torture others and record their screams.
Maybe you're not excited about him, but not every killer needs to be grotesque or ugly or disfigured.
And for example, I find the Twins utterly boring. Sure you've got Victor trying to jump on you, but for me their aesthetic isn't the favorite. I still don't say they ruin the whole mood of the game.
7 -
There's all kinds of different horror out there. Trickster is one variation of horror.
It's okay if the killer doesn't vibe with you.
It's not okay to ruin the game for the rest of your teammates over it.

I personally don’t think he fits at all. I feel like this just an approach to draw in an entire new fan base. When you make a killer that people think is attractive and want them to step on them or what have you. I think you’ve failed at a new killer.
2 -
I mean, the scary vibe of the game is sorta moot, but I get what you mean. I tuned in to a stream and saw the streamer in a lobby waiting for the game. I seriously thought the game was bugged out and put the survivor in the killer spot cuz he didn't look like a killer. He looks like a prestige 3 skin for a survivor. SMH

Watch Scott Jund’s thoughts on the Trickster. I think he summed it up the best as a watered down version of the Plague. He also made a good point about the knife damage. It shouldn’t degrade over time. It should stay that way unless healed, or downed. You could spend a lifetime in an LT loop trying to down survivors with knife damage that degrades over time.

That is what you get when devs do a fan service.
Most of the time it's just sh1t content, and it usually goes down hill from there on once they gave in to it.
My overal mood in dbd was decreasing already and when is saw this abomination, I just grinch and thought this might be the end of it
1 -
I think the exact opposite of you. I like him and his power, his concept. I think it should de tweaked a little, but I'm totally in for it, totally excited!
2 -
I don't get the argument of "Trickster shouldn't be in DbD because he isn't horror." But teabagging survivors are? Ummm... ok...

Twins is boring as well indeed.
Tbh including trickster the last few killers were like meh.
Sure Blight was fun, for a bit, but not really to interesting.
That's why i said in a earlier comment that I think it's going down hill.
Blight, twins and now trickster as a fan service, it just gives me some bad vibes on what direction they are heading.

I don’t think anyone is denying his lore is dark.
His overall aesthetic feels like he belongs in a different game. There is nothing dark about it seeing as it’s just a little bit of blood splattered on his trench coat.
By DBD standards, there should have been a vast difference between when he was just a psycho vs when he went into the fog.
I don’t know how else to say this but, I don’t like my killers “cute” looking, and more so when they look like a survivor.
You can spin the whole “well DBD killers are not scary” any way you want but that isn’t what people are referring to. Not the feeling of being scared but feeling like there is a menace behind them chasing them.
They could have definitely done more to show a more gritty/dark phase of him post entering the fog.

You should look at some of the kinky stuff people say about some of the other killers.
1 -
Ok thanks for sharing I guess
2 -
Its low-key cringe tbh.
I main Michael Myers, so I know what you mean. Looking at you person with the name “Myers’ baby girl” 😒
They're usually the first ones to go to. xD

Okay. Go ruin people's trials, then.
We all have killers we don't like to play agasint. That's no reason to screw over your teammates, not unless you have an amazing reason, like genuine mental health concerns stemming from irl association.
2 -
Yeah but at least the killers in the game "TRY" to be creepy.....
This guy just woke up in the wrong game....he should be a league of legends character.
0 -
I agree. Trickster doesn't fit DBD at all.
3 -
The only thing I will say about this killer is his running is a bit... ....odd?
0 -
That is what they said...
2 -
"I know most of you all will say propably something like: "Oh it's just a first few days, give him some time. You'll get used to him. Stop crying baby survivor"
I won't say that, but I will think it

It's the same reason why us players complain or hatethings like things survivors do, that killers do, cheap tactics, cheese moves, bugs, hitboxes, servers, microtranactions, BS moments during gameplay, perks, characters (as you are) yet here we all are still playing the game and not uninstalling it. We just live with the stuff we don't like cause we like to play this game anyway.

I agree that his design is unusual and not fitting but he IS suppossed to be one of those "pretty psychopath" types.
He is not really about the visual horror but is more on the psychological horror side.Nothing is scary about him on the outside. However, his mind is so ######### up and twisted that i honestly think he is one of the most evil killers in the game.

Ah yes. It was all the Trickster that killed the mood for DBD. Not Dwelf. Not penguin Zarina. Not elephant OR Santa Clown. Not bunny Legion.
I just enjoy the fact that it’s not another bland slasher knock off with a mask and a knife. It’s new and they are expanding on different tropes. The fact that the killer can be pretty and charming (which most serial killers are) is something NEW. Not every killer has to look like Billy and Myers ya know :/
4 -
He will rarely be picked unless he gets huge buffs anyways.
0 -
I like the new killer, he needs a buff though as right now he is a nerfed version of the plague. I like his overall appearance as it is different and not everyone has to be a ugly creature lol, i like seeing someone who looks like a human. And since when were DBD killers scary? The only scary one is Myers as he makes me paranoid as i cant hear him but thats it.

I like his desine but his power just dosent work any los blockers deny him his power and it's not like huntress where you can prepare to get an injure or death slinger where if you react quick enough to get an injure
Because right now he is like a worse pluage because if you cont committe youndont get an injure and younhvar to so more to get the same reward
so I do think the bounce blades would be a decent addition to him he can prepare to get a few knives in and then react to get a few more in

It is honestly just an opinion thing and it happens with every single chapter. People are upset about it, don't like the chapter, and then go on the forums and fill the pages with hate. It isn't like the devs are gonna change the killer for you, especially when the killer is still liked as much or more as they are hated. But again the only difference is that the people upset are louder than the people pleased. I also think it's funny because all the arguments against this killer can be applied to other killers easily yet people still dismiss it.
