An idea to nerf dead hard
What are your thoughts on nerfing DH so you could use it once a chase is lasting longer than 30-45 seconds. That way you could not longer use it for free and being rewarded as a result for a long chase.

DH doesn't need a nerf.
24 -
It extends chases like any other exhaustion perk but people hate it more for some reason
0 -
they hate it simply because most people don't like to lose, either if it's because of DH or something else.
5 -
Just bait the dead hard out.
It doesn't need a nerf
5 -
You don't need to nerf a perk that most of the time can be countered just by being patient.
4 -
I know Dead Hard won't be nerfed and all but that sentence is the same like all killers that say "Just do the totems" for NOED
3 -
you shouldn't missinterpret people... it just gives the impression you didn't actually listen to them
2 -
I wish i couldn't listen to them 🤣

I think they hate it because its the strongest and most versitile exhaustion perk in the game
examples of some of its strongest interactions
trapper dh over a trap
nurse dh through a hit and force the nurse to go into 4-5 seconds of fatigue animation
huntress dh and have a hatchet phase through you
hag dh out of a hit from a activated trap and keep going because they are a 110 killer and can't really chase
clown dh for distance to a pallet to counter a well done mindgame or bottle throw
spirit dodge a post phase hit and make distance as she is a 110 and her power is on cooldown
legion stop him from chaining his frenzy for slowdown
demo counter a well placed shred
oni dodge an entire hit and buy like 3 seconds of free running because his power takes a while for both missed attack recovery and starting to demon dash again
deathslinger dodge through a shot at any distance
pyramid head dodge a power hit
blight dodge a rush hit and put him into his powers cooldown
twins dodge a victor hit and kick him
All this in addition for being able to just use it to extend a chase by pressing a single button
Does too much for something you get in a natural course of the game
sprint burst versatility
use it to get to a better spot to start a chase
use it to get away from the hook as the killer returns
use it mid chase by getting it to a low cooldown before letting it cooldown all the way mid chase to get extra distance but most of the time you won't be able to use this one while progressing the game

It's because Dead Hard is the only perk that removes a great play by the killer.
Good mindgame?
Good hatchet throw?
Good Punishment of the Damned?
Well placed trap?
Well, too bad.The survivor just pressed a button and you get nothing.
It just feels really bad and unfair on the killer side.It feels the same like a survivor that is constantly able to outplay the killer at a pallet but gets downed anyeay because the killer gets carried by bloodlust.
6 -
It does.
If old Ruin was nerfed due to its popularity, it's inconsistent nature, it's passive pressure and it's punishment of new players then DH should be nerfed.
It is in almost every Red Rank game.
Most Killers will passively respect DH even if you don't have it, just because of the threat of it existing.
It sometimes doesn't work, other times it extends chases for another minute.
It's practically a "I win" button against new Killers.
5 -
People don't like it because it is unconditional besides the survivor running it being injured. It is useable in any situation at a loop whereas an exhaustion perk like SB isn't ready all the time if the survivor is using it properly. When they run with SB, they pause the exhaustion timer. Lithe just needs a dropped pallet or window. Dead hard can be used as long as you are injured and all you have to do is press a button to gain distance or rectify a mistake. It is also unfair how you can literally go straight through a bear trap with it.

If DH was that good i would run it in every single match, but i don't (maybe because i always play solo and need other perks instead)
Does DH extend chases? Sometimes, yeah, but instadown killers shorten chases as well. So i don't see any issue with that.

And NOED is a win against noob survivors, that doesn't mean it should be nerfed.
0 -
Tell you what, if you make it on a 60 second cooldown without being exaustion perk, then this change would be fair I think, assuming the killer couldn't just break chase by going invisible or some other bs like that.
0 -
Except, there are 3 other points.
Ruin was nerfed for those exact reasons. Ergo, DH should be nerfed.
...unless ruin shouldn't have been nerfed.
3 -
The best nerf for Dead Hard?
Turn the game off. Walk away. Then Dead Hard can't hurt you anymore.
0 -
Fair enough on the traps that’s stupid.
They all gain distance and BL ad sprint burst can be stronger depending on map/skill
0 -
I personally never complained about Ruin tbh.
0 -
Regardless, those are the reasons Ruin got nerfed.
It was too popular.
It was too inconsistent.
It overly punished new players.
It provided passive pressure.
1 -
Old Ruin was nerfed because it rewarded the killer for just being on the map. Dead Hard doesn't reward survivors merely for being on the map. And even then new Ruin is actually stronger if you're actually pressuring generators.
0 -
New Ruin isn't stronger imo.
You are simplifying it too much. Old Ruin rewarded Killers for not pressuring gens. They didn't have to do anything to get value from the perk. Dead Hard, likewise, causes Killers to wait and try to bait it out, which can result in a Survivor getting to a pallet. Additionally, DH puts people into lose-lose scenario's, if they swing early, they dodge with Dead Hard, if they wait, they Dead Hard for distance to a pallet.
Either get rid of the distance gained by using Dead Hard or keep the distance and get rid of the i-frames.

There are some parts about dh that are annoying af but it's a very situational perk for the survivor can mess up the dh and look like an idoit or they can dh to a window or pallet of time it very well but like I said it's situational
0 -
So it turns out if you can time it right, you can actually Dead Hard after Deathslinger has reeled you over to him. What a fun perk.
Honestly, Crutch Hard is by far the most broken survivor perk in the entire game. I'd gladly take a nerf to it over Ds.
3 -
Despite not having undergone any major changes since the inception of the perk, Dead Hard for some reason now needs a nerf.
ALMOST FOUR YEARS LATER.
Makes no sense.
2 -
I would like to see you bait DH when its being used for distance.
Here's the problem with that comparison. DH for distance has no counterplay what so ever. While doing bones is a counter to NOED, the other counter to NOED is to gtfo
3 -
I personally think that DH needs a risk added to it.
I would lock survivor's interactions for 2 seconds, so they can't interact with pallets or vaults. Imo this would make the perk more risky and skillful
1 -
I know.
I was only comparing that the statement "Just bait the Dead Hard" is as bland as "Just do the totems".
If you want a better comparison on terms of how unfair Dead Hard feels then you would compare it to Bloodlust.

This seems to be the mentality of some killer players in 2021.
If it’s annoying = it needs a nerf.
0 -
Exactly this. You outplayed them or they screwed up, and then use "e-to-outplay". I think that's the thing annoying me the most recently.
2 -
Play killer against survivors who dead hard for distance and then come back.
1 -
Killers like u can't chase that's u complain baby killer
0 -
DH is easy to mindgame XD seriously ... dont be so lazy most survivor do it 1 time in a game then i know they got it and i adapt myself
0 -
Dh doesn't need a nerf. The most broken thing about it is the ability to dh over a trap and that's not even that crazy.
0 -
Then they should start nerfing b&c
0 -
People hate it because this is the only exhaustion perk that robs you a hit just in front of you after catching up to the surv.
Sprint burst, well you'll immediately see he has it, he's looking at you, but doesn't run.
Lithe, if you vault too late the window, you'll get the hit, it's just for transition between loops/gaining distance.
Head on, seriously, Head on never permit to avoid a hit.
Balance Landing, this is different, it's the only perk with Dead Hard that can allow you to avoid being hit. But it's so rare and situational so it's not a problem.
But Dead Hard, you'll being looped for 25 seconds, FINALLY YOU'LL END THE CHASE AND dead hard, you're done for another health state chase.
To be honest, even as a Nurse main, I don't think Dead Hard is OP, sure it's frustrating, but the perk can be used only 3 times per game, and you won't be able to have value from it every time.
0 -
It really doesn't. Seems very realistic to me. If you get hit and someone is chasing you irl and trying to hit you again you're gonna speed up. Nerfing it is the easy way out. Work for your kill my friends. DH never bothers me as killer.
1 -
Honestly I’ve always found sprint burst more annoying
0 -
It's the best exhaustion perk :p you always get value from Sprint Burst, this is by far my favourite exhaustion perk. And yeah it could be annoying if the surv has a lot of distance, the Hold W is strong.

Why

I figured out i opened pandora's vault with this post, now kids and not some stable people are commenting here lol

That's right just do totems and you don't have to worry about NOed
They don't gain that much distance unless it's to get to a pallet or a window, and even then their exhausted.
To Bait it out is simple get on their ass they use it within 2 secs. you're on them again down them ( just like a 360 that so many have a problem with too) don't be quick to swing.
