Do not start match if a survivor dc's whilst loading
If a survivor is disconnectiong before a match starts (be it intensionally or not) the game should not start at all.
Just quit and throw everyone back into main menu or kick them back into the killer lobby so they can wait for a new survivor.
How often is does a match really make sense with three survivors. Almost never.
Either farming till the end or getting killed way too quickly.
Just got this again where I spawned not far away from the killer, got hooked and not even three minutes after everybody was dead because the killer played serious and my teammates were altruistic for once. Nobody of the survs got more than 4k bp.
What do you think about this?

Agree. I suspect that EAC is blame for a significant number. It takes a good 15-20 seconds to validate, so don't be so quick to hit ready when the lobby fills.

It doesn't work like that.
Once the game started, there's no way to check if someone disconnected during the loading screen.1 -
Or make it so when the game starts, when you hit the leave button as a killer (only until 1 minute has passed), you'll get no penalty for DC'ing.0

I agree , 3v1 is boring af. One gets hooked, someone else get chased, 3rd guy goes for the unhook while the other one gets hooked. Repeat.5

but I've had this happen on PC and on console, and there's no EAC on console, right?1 -
I don't really see the abuse there. Survivors don't like 3v1 and killer doesn't like the map? It's good for both sides.Nos37 said:@popoles said:

If it didn't work like that, how are the number of generators readjusted depending on how many survivors actually spawned. Instead of readjusting the generators, it can be changed to return the main menu.Tsulan said:It doesn't work like that.

Would be the best solution, I think. Just send them back to the main menu or as mentioned earlier back to the killer lobby to start looking for a fourth guy - again.

I think they mean if the leave before 1 minute with no penalty is implimented, killers will dc on maps they dont like, even with 4 survivors.popoles said:

Oh, I see. Sorry, it seems like one sentence disappeared from my original post. My fault.
You could DC without punishment ONLY if there are 3 or less survivors.2 -

As a Killer in a 1v3 situation, I used to feel obligated to handicap my performance, farm with Survivors, or simply be called that jerk who "plays all sweaty tryhard."
I didn't think it was fair for me to hold back at my own discretion, or for the blame to be put on Killers. That's why I stopped and returned to playing normally.
Now, I just reply to salty messages and tell them: "The devs remove generators to balance the matches that start with less than 4 Survivors. If you're not happy with that balance then that's between you and the devs. Leave me out of it."

From experience when they first started using EAC I would join a lobby and hit ready immediately. Well I would get dropped sometimes while game was loading and told by other survivors in the next trial I DC'ed, when I was really dropped. So now I wait a good 15 seconds after the last person joins before hitting ready and it has greatly reduced the number of disconnects I've seen when the game starts and reduced my personal disconnects at start to zero. Sure there are still people DC'ing on purpose due to impatience or whatever, but the frequency of them dropped noticeably when I started practicing that wait.

A.I. would fix this (like HotS vs AI mode).
One disconnects and get replaced with AI. Same for killer so survivors can continue their progress (dcer loses everything of course).0 -
That's probably it. 90% of these issues would be solved if we all learned to wait 15-20 seconds before hitting ready.darktrix said:Agree. I suspect that EAC is blame for a significant number. It takes a good 15-20 seconds to validate, so don't be so quick to hit ready when the lobby fills.

Of course it is not and never was your fault. The problem only is, that even with less generators, the game is not balanced anymore.
As @AnotherRandy mentioned earlier
"(...) One gets hooked, someone else get chased, 3rd guy goes for the unhook while the other one gets hooked. Repeat."You will almost never get any progress. Though you can get the hatch unlocked with really skilled survs against a new/unskilled killer sometimes, but the killer has got the advantage most of the time.

There should be a more thorough communication protocol between clients (survivor nodes) and server (killer lobby node).
The killer node needs to realise some survivors no longer responding, and should make this situation known (notify) to remaining survivor nodes. In this case, a voting UI should pop out; nobody starts a match unless everybody votes to agree/disagree with the commencement of the match. So as long as one player disagrees, the match is cancelled.

It's honestly such a handicapped game. I feel bad when there are 3 survivors, and it's such a dilemma when you don't want to down pip either.

To play Devil's Advocate, say I'm the kind of guy that thinks it's hysterical to waste someone's time (even though I can't see their reaction). What stops me from just waiting for a game to start, disconnecting in the loading screen, and then forcing everyone to requeue?
Particularly in the red ranks where some people have to wait five minutes or more (usually more just after resets) just to get a match in the first place?
Also, loophole: if I just wait for the game to load, it wouldn't cancel the match and there would be another generator to do.
I think it's too exploitable. A better option would be to disable ranking for that match so you don't depip because the game started a man down.
