So, I've read the changes and all the replies here. I'm afraid I have TWO unpopular opinions, so I won't make the DEV happy or most of you. It goes as follows:

    1. I'm not enthusiastic about the Trickster. I think he is boring, one-dimensional and encourages one type of play.
    2. I don't think he is near as weak as the rest of you do. I played him and didn't have that experience.

A lot of it depends on mindset, i.e. how you approached playing with him. Most people threw a lot of knives, and I mean a LOT of knives and only used the baseball bat as a second choice. I found this application underwhelming too. However, when I swapped the order, i.e. making my first attack with the baseball bat and then ran down the now injured Survivor with knives, the Trickster became a lot more potent.

By in large his knives do one thing well; they make looping him impossible. He is perfectly happy to follow you around any terrain (which might normally be safe) and bleed the Survivor out. In fact, most classic loops end in one third the time (often half) if you do a basic melee attack and then switch over to the blades. Play him like a classic M1 Killer and land that first hit. The Survivor takes off with the speed boost granted by the injury and then you launch after them and immediately start chucking blades. This totally overcomes the distance between you and the target, and starts wearing them down. It only takes eight hits.

I know this is kind of boring way to approach it but the Trickster is, by in large, boring. That doesn't mean he isn't effective, nor is he going to be anywhere NEAR the bottom of the barrel. People will quickly unlock all his Perks and start playing him with their own favorite other Perks, like say Play With Your Food (which I found devastating on him). I don't like being negative, nor in this case a double negative, but I suspect some of the concern about his ability to down Survivors has more to do with "how" people were playing him rather than who they COULD have been playing him. I can only speak for my own experiences, but I did not find him to be weak in the slightest.

    This image made me happy.

Also, I agree with the many people who agree his ricochets should be base to make him more interesting playwise and visually. I hope they do it. They have done stuff like it in the past so why not this? (Pallet breaks for demo and Blight come to mind)

How does Play With Your Food work with Trickster? Does every knife thrown consume a token?

Look on the bright side, If he gets extremely under performing statistics and abysmal pickrate, he might actually become better after 1 year. I thought you hated exhaustion perks and they just buffed an exhaustion perk from 3->4 seconds.

My hope is change of heart towards him in 6 months. rip his only useful add-on.

"I thought you hated exhaustion perks and they just buffed an exhaustion perk from 3->4 seconds."

Exhaustion perks are a problem. However, they don't stack. So them adding an extra Exhaustion perk is irrelevant in that sense. I'm happy with it's change because it adds more variety to the Exhaustion perks we see in games.

IE it hasn't made Exhaustion perks stronger, just simply more variety, and if we're stuck with them I'd rather at least see variety. If we're stuck with a bad feature I'd at least like that feature to be more interesting essentially.

    Yes! 🙃

Gotta love a purple rarity gimmick add-on.

The rarity should be reduced to brown or yellow at least. I'll actively try to avoid this add-on because it is just throwing BPs in the trash essentially. Similar to Franks mixtape and stab wounds study vibes, waste of points.

I do not think this going to be used as an exhaustion perk. It will be more like balance landing. Survivors might opt to run Smack down+Dead hard now. More hold W gameplay. Thrilling. I am not complaining, they improved killer perks. I'm surprised they finally released a decent killer perk after so many disappointing patches. I can't wait to play Distressing+Starstruck with calm add-on doctor. Sounds super fun. I wonder what new clickbait title from content creator is going to be: GLOBAL expose doc?

They literally did nothing they needed to him and proceeded to nerf his best add-on

Oh yeah I'm not saying it's gonna be better than like DH, it's not. I'm just saying some people might use it here and there like BL as you said for some more variety.

No Way Out is just for the memes. Outside of just "fun" builds we won't see it.

Starstruck is actually decent-ish now. Not good enough I'd ever run it, but good enough some people would at least look at it, which is better than we can say for most perks.

Crowd Control is being way overrated imo. The time it needs to stay up for it to be worth is the time you could have just won if you were running DH instead.

I do agree, they are better than what were used to. Just still not "good". We'll see I suppose.

I'm just going to copy paste what I wrote in one of the PTB feedback posts :

"Seems they didn't learn anything from the last update.

Listen to feedback ? Nah, sounds garbage to them.

They're absolute stubborn grandmaster level and "we know what is good for you".

We see the path that BHVR is taking : Twins bad design, then terrible mid chapter (only balance changes were pretty good and the maps (well, I won't talk about The Game and the Fourty Pallets), but hell all the bugs we had and UI/animation...), and then the Trickster, not a problem, but here again : listening to the community ? Overrated.

They'd just heard that Trickster is underpowered, that's all. "

Plus, I'd like to add, the Trickster changes are anything but buffs. These are quality life changes. It won't make him stronger.

The fact that His knife bounce was not added to base despite almost everything I heard or read about him suggested it was needed in his base kit was pretty surprising but to then nerf it as well was very surprising. That very much needs to change. The rest I'm largely okay with

Question about Starstruck. Is the Exposed effect on survivors within TR at time of picking up survivor, or just as they enter the TR?
