Nurse should really get reworked into a healthier state

Before the 6000 hour nurse mains go bonkers let me preface, i UNDERSTAND, nurse is hard to play. She is the hardest killer to play in the game and has the highest skill floor and ceiling . But the idea of a mastered killer entirely dominating a game, i.e nurse mains at rank 1 having 100+ 4ks in a row because there just ISNT counterplay to her kit other than her own player being worse. Similar to spirit where the only counter is the killer making a mistake which is poor gameplay

Maybe Nurse having next to no counterplay is bad design, but you also have to think about the killer side. There’s only a few killers that are any viable at the highest level with Nurse and Spirit being those only consistent killers at that level and that’s also pretty bad design. They both need overhauls but gen speeds also need to be fixed to balance it out. I play both sides so it’s not like I’m bias towards one side.

Wouldn't it be kinda brutal to throw away a killer that people have practiced for hundreds, even thousands of hours?

The reason Nurse players can 4k 100 times in a row is because most players are bad. A tournament level squad can still 4 out a Nurse especially since most maps are survivor sided. She also already got nerfed TWICE. Give her a break especially with all the bugs she has to deal with.

I think a rework for Nurse and Spirit is a good idea.

Nurse has the lowest win rate, but is the strongest killer when played at the highest level. That is the most unbalanced a character can get. For that reason, I think she should be tweaked.

Spirit's add ons are extremely bloated, and I hope she eventually gets her addons reworked, as well as maybe her power to make playing against her not feel like the most unfun matchup in DBD.

the nurse pfp really screamed bias lol... thats why nurse does the best at the highest level of play right?

Sure but the same can be said for spirit. If it's UNHEALTHY, then it should be reworked

"Because ive beaten a nurse or spirit in chase a couple times theyre balanced!" what a ridiculous argument lol

That's kind of not what I said at all but if that's that way you interpreted what I said then so be it. Stop getting so tilted when you go up against a really skilled killer and looking for bandaid solutions when you lose. Trust me, you'll get better at the game.

Nurse does the best at a high level because she allows the player to engage in actual gameplay. The survivor has to play a mutual mindgame. Other killers get enthralling “eat pallet and walk” gameplay that makes them unviable.

I mean from your posts it seems you don't know how to play against a nurse so honestly asking for anything without trying to learn anything makes this whole thread more ridiculous if not a joke.

When you go against nurse you're no longer playing DBD forget all the chase procedures and just focus on LOS, juking, and utilizing objects to make her mess up. That isn't a bad thing in fact it's refreshing.

just because you can't run a nurse doesn't mean she needs anything go learn how to play against her before you complain.

Trying to change Nurse in any way is hard, since she is one of the oldest killers and people wouldn't want to see her changed. But in Nurse's case in particular, her power is so fundamentally busted that more should be done to make it more fair.

Nurse is the hardest killer to learn, not play.

Once you know how to blink properly you ignore pretty much every thing a survivor can do in chase which makes it a pretty easy match in the end.

Yes. I am so relieved someone else gets this. Once you become competent with her half the games are a sweatfest and half are easy. Once you master her you’re just going to dominate with little resistance from survivors. Spirit and Freddy despite popular belief still have to work harder for that victory.

Bad nurses are easy, good nurses are a challenge, master nurse is rare, and I have seen Survivors beat them despite their mastery even when I wasn't able to survive. Definitely an increasing challenge the wider the skill gap between players, but nurse is not beyond the objective limitations placed on all killers.

I find this to be the most correct reply.

Certain killers don't abide by the rules of "Chase me in circles until I drop the pallet then run around it until you break it.", which really messes with survivors who have invested so much time learning only that one tactic without learning how to break chase and hide (and using the perks that actually suit said tactics, ala Urban Evasion and scratch mark modifiers and others).

Remember when old Freddy Mains were upset when his Power got completely reworked? No Killer should be completely reworked anymore because it'll make people pissed as #########.

All that some Killers need are number tweaks and some changes here and there. Freddie's rework was a success at the start but turned out to be a complete mistake.

Nurse shouldn't be touched at all at this time. (except bug fixes, there are some which help her and some which hurt her)

Once gen speeds are adressed for all the other Killers than we can focus on making Nurse and Spirit a bit weaker. They still try to fix gen speeds by making perks, but that won't fix anything. The base needs to be improved.

The only thing I can think that would be fair on Nurse, would be reducing the 'fatigue' duration in exchange for a longer cooldown on her blinks. Giving survivors more chance to escape between blinks, but giving the Nurse more opportunity to track them initially.

Spirit doesn't need all that much, at most she needs something very minor that can be used to inform survivors of roughly where she is when phasing. A very slight sound (her usual grunts and whines but at 25% volume maybe) or inverted passive phasing, every 3.5s in a phase, she becomes visible for 0.5s.

The nurse's counterplay will be a bad idea, it would be cool if they reworked her, but I think that will be bad for her counterplay. Just watch the nurse guide on youtube if it's hard for you.

No, survivors need to play to a killer's specific counters instead of demanding that all killers have the same counter. What's even the point of playing the game on either side if you have to use the same exact strategy every single time?

Honestly to an extrnt i agree that a rework needs to happen. Maybe not as extrnsively as you would like. The other issue with killers like Nurse, Huntress, and Deathslinger is that they are optimized for PC play. Almost 99 percent of the Nurses who have sub par gameplay are new console players who have no idea and the struggle is real. Second Nurse has good tells and if you are a survivor worth your salt you can out manuever a good Nurse. I think the people who are good with these characters earned their right to say so with such a niche tool kit.

The problem with all the good killers, nurse, spirit, etc. Is that they're delicate. It's no secret that even a minor change can make a killer like nurse either garbage or literally broken and beyond. Spirit I'm not so sure but you have to understand how fundamentally hard it is to remotely change Nurse but you also have to understand that she can't change until other killers become viable enough to play at high red rank competitive to which is very very few killers.

Yes she needs a change but it has to wait and come last until all the other killers are viable enough. Realistically no other killer can be as good as nurse is now or in the past but I believe they all the potential to be something close to what nurse is I'm their own unique way.
