Game Breaking Rework!!!
Edited Post with point 4,5.
Ok, so hear me out.
Instead of hooks, the game should be kills. When a survivor is hooked, the following happens:
- The hooked survivor has a bleed out time of 45 seconds with no struggle phase. If they are rescued, they stay injured until healed.
- If they are not saved, they die, and will respawn after 15 seconds.
- Survivors have 2 respawns.
- If a survivor is unhooked, they must MEND before they can be healed.
- If a survivor is hooked in the basement the bleed out timer is 30 seconds instead of 45.
That’s it. Camping is FIXED, suiciding on hook is FIXED, being one-hooked by bad teammates is FIXED, NOED is FIXED, tunneling is FIXED.
Im sure there is more that is FIXED by this change to the game, but I think you guys can figure that out for yourself.
I also like the idea that they must respawn as one of their other survivors.

If the survivor gets saved, does that count as a life? or do they have to die on hook 2 times before they are out? If it doesn't, I can see it increase camping.

This doesn't fix anything, but it breaks a lot of other things.

This is game-breaking alright.

Wait, doesn't this force killers to camp the hook in order to take away a health state? Also, doesn't this encourage genrushing, because there's little reason to go for the unhook thanks to strategically sacrificing health states?

I hope

45 seconds is pretty short, and then you respawn elsewhere. So you can’t be camped out of game like you can now, and survivors have way less time to make a save, so they either pull off gens fast for a save, or they lose a life and a minute.

I get the point of this:
He's saying the killer can hit a max number of kills and win. Saving from hooks would be needed to keep the kill count low. If the killer camps for the kill, he gets it, the Survivor comes back, but the killer has 1 kill now, only needing a few more to simply win.
The amount of kills needed to win would need to be determined, and many perks and mechanics would need to be adjusted or completely overhauled.

That's what I think would happen, I would just leave someone on the hook to genrush for the simple fact that even if they died they would respawn back into the trial

I edited a couple points. The idea here is to buy the killer time to chase survivors. You may strategically lose life’s, but if the killer downs two people, you are in much rougher shape in this scenario than in current game form, don’t you think?

The idea is that once you hook one person, you now have time to chase others. If at least one survivor doesn’t pull off for the save, the killer is completely free to pursue other survivors and hook them. The game currently, heavily encourages gen rushing, and does nothing to persuade campers to stop camping. Perhaps if survivors only had a single respawn, then their incentive to go for hook saves would be sky high. But at lower ranks, survivors would never win. So maybe you just need a game type selector in matchmaking that lets you select #respawns.
What do you think?

I see where you're going with the idea but I feel like it should be a whole different game mode of DBD if it were implemented

Before I bought this game. I was considering between DBD & Last year. I picked DBD because there is no respawn. Death mean the end.

I think that, even ignoring the genrush thing, killers would be unable to win without facecamping or 4-person slugging, because you have no limit on the number of times someone could be hooked.
I could honestly see this working out if it was mixed with the current hook system, so you only had 3 hook states no matter if you're saved or not. But if you're not saved or camped then the whole team gets a punishment.

Well thats how Deathgarden worked, and we all know it didn't go well.
