As far as I'm concerned if a survivour is more than game to go straight back on a gen then that means they are ready to take a hit plus if ds was so bad why are so many people running it still. Love how people complain at perks

all i want them to do is make it so there is always an obsession in the match regardless of perks. i'm sick of those matches where there is no obsession and the killer takes it as free reign to tunnel of hook.

Why are killers required to "give survivors a chance" to do anything? Their objective is literally to kill you, by any means necessary.
Are you going to spawn in next to our hex totem and "give us a chance to use it?" Are you going to spawn in with all 3 of your team mates with prove thyself and "give us a chance to find you" before you complete a gen?
Imagine being that entitled.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realise that Hex perks also deactivated after X amount of seconds, even if you don't get to use it.

That doesn't apply to the statement you made. You said "if killers would choose not to tunnel". That inherently doesn't have anything to do with DS. You said "give survivors a chance to play the game".
While DS does go away after 60 seconds and then you can get a chance to use it again if you chose not to use it, a hex perk can be destroyed in what..15 seconds? and it's just gone.
Don't go down that road. You'll be destroyed.

That's what I have always thought was the biggest drawback. The stun is inconvenient, but not enough to really get away, especially in a map like Ormond where blood trails would be easy to track with.

As a killer player that almost NEVER camps or tunnels, DS was unfair af.
I would go get someone away doing a gen nearby me after I bothered to walk away because they had a fat crutch they could lean on.
This DS is becoming what it should've been a long time ago.

DS was very abusable, specially in a SWF. The perk was always supposed to be an anti-tunnel perk and it's just not what happened in most cases. Those situations that u described are far less common than the killer getting hit by a DS after hooking someone else, for example. It was basically an anti momentum for the killer, rewarding survivors that go down quickly and make bad plays and punishing the killer that is doing good and downing people fast. Now u can't unhook your teammate or rush a gen in front of the killer and expect to easily get away with it. After getting unhooked wait a few seconds to check if the killer is coming back, if he is and decides to tunnel you, then you will be able to use the perk for its purpose :). If you're sitting on a gen, you're not being tunneled. It's just that simple.

The true use of old DS is to feel safe doing objective, prevent tunneling is just 2nd
I agree with old DS should be changed. Though the stun time isnt really enough to ensure tunneled survivor escape from a good tunneler or high tier Killer.
Im afraid DS use will be significantly decreased, that tunneling become an everyday complain.

DS is NOT being unfairly nerfed.
If the killer was NOT tunnelling you, but happenstance means YOU are the next one found before 60 seconds are up, after you have had time to ASSIST your team, then if you are downed AGAIN, then that is a chase the killer WON, and a hook they EARNED!!!

That's not true at all, it is a very bad at anti-tunneling perk now. A 1-time use weak perk. Decisive Strike should be decided by the survivor not the killer. Being unable to do anything is just making it convenient for the killer to win even easier.

So what you are saying is that you are the kind of teammate that would rather hide in a locker for 60 seconds on the chance you get to stab the killer, instead of simply going to another part of the map and being useful on a gen/healing/cleansing a hex?

Going to the opposite side of the map and the killer can easily chase you there. It's too easy for killers to know where everyone is with all the tracking perks. Either way is a free win for the killer.

Yes because it’s already so tough to be a survivor. I think they need to nerf all killers. It’s unfair how killers can possibly hit someone and down them before a gen is completed. Let’s have the entity hold the killer in place and give survivors a head start and complete three gens. Then let the killer down someone before giving the survivors a chance to come get them.

If that nerf goes through no one will run it any more... it'll be pointless. It's meant to be a fail safe against toxic killers but survivors exploited it... not our fault that's the way the perk was built.
I'll be uninstalling this game by the end of 2021 any how, waste of time... guess it'll just be more BT and Unbreakable.

I don't know what I would do it would really depend on the circumstances, but as stupid as it sounds being productive loses the perk and the killer can freely tunnel. So he gets a free win either way. He can slug to avoid the perk or force you to spend a lot of time going completely across the map to do anything. All that wasted time means more time for killer to do his things.

This is what I've been saying from the beginning. It should be useable twice, as you can be tunneled twice per match.
DS was not an anti tunneling perk, it was an invincibility perk. Now it's neither.

This survivor went on a gen right after they got unhooked so I knew they had ds so I tried to lunge instead of grab but I still grabbed

In all seriousness (if any of the OP's threads ever have serious discussion in them), of course DS is going to be run and run often. I run it every match and will continue to do so. It's saved me in numerous matches, and I'm sure it will in the future, since I don't abuse it. On the rare occasions I have (to break a Hex totem, finish a gen, etc., right after an unhook), I'll just have to weigh the risk ahead of time, and I have no problem with that. Neither will players who actually are thinking reasonably.
The only change I'd make upcoming (which should have been implemented already, this change notwithstanding) is to have an Obsession every match, Obsession perk in play or not.

Can't we just all agree this game is horribly unbalanced and the developers don't know what they're doing? This is an asymmetrical game so one side is always going outweigh the other. Perks get changed so there is no reason to complain. As long as one side whines, the developers try to please it and vice versa. Also gay joker, just saying.

No, I don't agree. I think the game is about as balanced as a game of this nature can be. It is always a work in progress. If you are unhappy, you know where the door is... what... you are still here? I guess you are a hypocrite.

I mean asymmetrical means uneven so yeah. I never said I was unhappy in any way. It's just always going to be a shifting balance no matter how much anyone complains. That is the point. You literally have several killers that break the game mechanics. Lot's of perks are overpowered and underpowered. I've accepted it's bad, but I still play it.

What you said is the game is "horribly unbalanced" and that infers a certain antipathy. If you didn't mean it that way, I'll accept that explanation. The game is more balanced now than it has ever been in the past. There was a time when the game was far harder, ridiculous in fact. Do I agree that there is work to be done? Yes. Do I agree that the game is "horribly unbalanced?" No. The difference between us is that I don't feel the game is bad, and hence I play it. You, on the other hand, state that you think it is bad, and yet you keep playing it. That is a contradiction. With the thousands of games out there at our fingertips, why wouldn't you just find one that you think is good?
I'm not trying to be snide, merely making a point. The game is GOOD and that is why you are still here. The positives still far outweigh any negatives. I just think it is hypocritical to make a biased, generalized statement that is contradictory to your actions. If I felt the way you do, I'd already be gone. Life is too short to waste on something I don't think is good. Not only would I be gone, I wouldn't even pause to come make some dramatic statement on this forum and a long, "goodbye cruel DbD" post which seems so commonplace.

Oh I agree it's much better than before. And I suppose you are correct, in the sense on some level it's "good" to me. I really only ever play with friends but I used to play both sides. Yes for the type of game it is it as balanced as asymmetrical can get. I do however play it far less. I only find it good when playing with my friends anymore.
