Trickster is so bad!

Don't buy this Killer!

Devs haven't done anything that would make the Trickster viable or at least decent. The changes that he has received don't help him!

He is not fun to play! As it has been noticed, Trickster can do nothing in loops with high walls, and he is extremely slow! Unlike Speargun and Hatchets, his power doesn't help him to down Survivors fast or catch up to Survivors quickly. He is very sluggish.

His perks are decent, but is it a good idea to buy a character only for perks?

    Trickster is so bad!

People buy most new characters for their Perks and put them on the Killer they actually enjoy. I will suggest, however, that Trickster benefits greatly from Play With Your Food. I actually found him to be quite effective when I tested him out, but kind of one note. The Trickster starts to power up when you combine his basic Power with OTHER Perks.

Wait, Play With Your Food tokens aren't consumed after throwing blades?

  • But thats ok because they’ll just get those killers nerfed again.

You’ll play padded jaws Trapper in red ranks and you’ll be happy about it. Stop being an entitled killer main and wanting anything higher than a 1k

I'm going to buy him and the outfit that he stomped and skinned Shadow The Edgehog for.

Also I always found it more enjoyable to play killers the community ranks mid tier than the high tiers. Anyone and their pet goldfish could 4K with Spirit and Freddy.

The Twins are extremely powerful and I very rarely see them. Idk what you're on about LOL.

    MMR is not on, yet.

But their favorite negative youtuber said he was trash and that means he is trash. NO QUESTIONS ALLOWED. HIVEMIND ONLY.

For real, most of the Tricksters I faced off against were Rank 15-20 while the Survivors were Ranks 1-8. He'd have one perk to everyone else's four. I do think he'll likely need buffed, but it's absolutely insulting to think PTB is amazing for testing power level.

So all the content creators are negative? Literally everyone has said this killer was one of the worst killers since ptb

  • The survivor equivalent is maps. Killers are offensive, they make offensive moves and ate judged in terms of offensive power.

Survivors are defensive. Since they can’t attack directly their strength should be judged in maps and tiles. A strong map = strong defence which is why you need a killer with strong offense to go against it.

With that in mind, was meat plant weak on release day? No it was so damn powerful that against survivors that arent incompetent only Nurse stands a chance. Most of the killers dont even get a say in a chase.

So yeah you’re damn right I’m judging on release day.

The update hasn't even become available for me yet.

Same was said for Oni, Deathslinger, Twins, Spirit, Reworked Freddy, etc. This community is a bunch of cry babies about 99% of the time... especially if you're watching one pretending this game is hyper competitive esports material. You can argue they were right on some of them, but I mean if you call everything horrible... you'll get some right here and there like Original Freddy.

I think he'll need buffs, but the community acts out no matter what so it's hard to take them serious when they are so dramatic.

To no ones surprise. People were saying this since the PTB but BHVR doesn't need our feedback, let's nerf him instead.

  • Member Posts: 1,261

The worst thing it's his power is so basic: a spam-power, unlike other killers (Twins or Plague) there is less variables to take on consideration.

  • Oni was never this negatively received thats not true at all. A lot of survivors were saying he was OP on the ptb.

Deathslinger - True I’ll give you that

Twins - dont know I wasnt playing back then

Spirit - Spirit didnt become as strong as she is until well after release. She was weak at first and later got buffed, a big one being changes to the terror radius. Previously her phasing sound was directional.

Reworked freddy never had complaints like this. People underestimated his snares and overrated his pallets but he was never considered really weak

So 1, maybe 2 of those are true. The rest.....no. That’s some revisionist history

    That's all i ever do. 😋

Eh, I am having a blast with trickster even if he is #########. Problem is the average player can not get any enjoyment from this game if it does not come from the dopamine rush of crushing the other team.

Let me point out quietly that Star Struck is a very potent insta-down Perk. When combined with Play with your Food (which helps offset speed issues) it can be quite effective. Other Perks which increase your Terror Radius also quite nice. I'm not trying to sell anyone on the notion that he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm merely pointing out that there are some extremely effective combinations on this guy once you look past his idiotic knives.

I tried him out with Star Struck, Agitation, Mad Grit, and Play With Your Food and found it rather effective.

*PS: I also tried it without Play With Your Food, replacing it with Iron Grasp and found that very substantial too.

No one said oni was bad

Deathslinger is bad, he's just annoying to play against

Spirit was bad on release, she had to be buffed to be good

Everyone said twins were bad bc you need to play like an ass to do well, which a lot of people don't find fun

And I saw nothing but people begging for rework freddy to be nerfed after his release

At least you can play it. The DLC is not on the steam store after 1 hour of release.

Anyways, Trickster seems to be a fun killer to play, but not an effective one.

Doesnt matter if its "day 1" because of the ptb. He's nearly the same, but worse, yet only better in a really minor part of his power.

    Terrible

The All-Kill chapter is in the Steam store as of 12pm EDT - so around 15minutes ago.

I think I have to disagree. From my perspective, he just needs some time to get used to. I played a game with The Trickster and he seems quite decent, and some perk builds suit him quite well to be honest. So it's the same as with The Twins for me, you just need to get used to it. Should you not want to do so, you can still play using the other killers or survivors.

  • Member Posts: 3,104

yup, all old freddy had was slow down strong enough to make games last 15-20 minutes

they literally won by just using up all the pallets it was boring and unfun.

  • Member Posts: 66

He was nerfed a week or two after release due to bad review spamming on Steam. Then a rework was promised later on, correct.

  • Member Posts: 1,414

I've played dozens of games with him on the PTB and on live he's virtually unchanged. He's terrible.

I don't need to fall down a cliff several times to tell you that doing so will instantly kill me. Just like how I don't need to play any more games with the Trickster to tell you that he's a terribly designed killer.

  • Member Posts: 3,089

After an entire rework that completed removed his old mechanic's

Not sure but if you rember freddy used to have to wait 5s after finding someone just to hit them and he was a m1 killer not to mention is you got even 1 skill check you had an extra 5s of invincibility

play a ranged killer like any of them, trickster only is good for 1v1's but unlike deathslinger and huntress he trades accuracy and lethality for a sheer amount of spam that if you even have half decent aim he will always eventually down the survivor.

that isn't decent it's bad since in the first place only being good at 1v1's in the 4v1 aspect isn't that strong as seen with deathslinger.

I bought him cause he remind me of majima from the yakuza series.

Main problem with Trickster is the same Deathslinger has, since they are easy to get hits with their ranged attacks (Deathslinger by being undodgeable and Trickster by being a machinegun spraying proyectiles) they have to be weaker in everything else, Trickster main strength is he is very lenient with his misses unlike Deathslinger and Huntress (Huntress is extremely punishing if you miss several hatchets you can consider the chase lost).

If they make them as damaging as Huntress without making them easier to dodge they would be unstoppable so you end with a Killer that is very good in one very specific aspect and trash at everything else.

P.D. at least his perks look somewhat decent, especially the Hex.

I have only played against him once and it was an easy escape, he only got one kill. I need to play against him more to really understand because he's new.
