So far feels like the only thing they really need to change to make his power viable is:
) He shouldn't have his movement speed reduced while throwing knives. He already can't immediately swing after and is 110%
) The accuracy toward the center of the screen should be tighter, OR the recoil should be less dramatic, OR the knife speed should be increased 1.5x - 2x

Yea he's an awful killer. Even asked a few killer mains that are r1/2 and what their opinion on him was. None of it was positive, lol. Just a very big let down and you can run him infinite at shacks if you know how to loop properly.
edit; just had a match where trickster face camped 4th teammate and waited for us to come save. We got her off hook and he didn't down any of us in the process.
Every match I've played against Trickster, its been really easy. Every match so far, all 4 teammates have gotten out.

Now I played him and I was noticed that he is absolutely TRASH killer.
I think Dev haven't played him once.
His problem is he is so weak when looping. He can't do anything. (It is main problem)
Knives are so weak so basic attack is more effective than throwing knives.
Main event is trash. It is worse than normal chase and smash bat.

I think he is honestly fun to play against, I see killers are already learning new perk combos to make him even better and it's looking pretty good. I've only played him one time and found him quite frustrating to play as survivors easily can dodge these knives and Main Event isn't the best skill a killer could have... he is quite fashionable though 😉👍️

"Just don't play him." doesn't fix anything. There is no secret to him. It is very obvious the limits of his kit. People have a right to be upset with the feedback given from PTB which was mostly ignored. People just want the killer to be good while being different from the rest of the roster. Bad killers should not be releasing.

It's probably kinda the same as why Hag doesn't get picked a lot. People just dont enjoy the playstyle.

Agreed not once has it ever been active at a time when it would be useful, the knives are so inaccurate that using it at range is pointless, and in no way does it justify the lengthy cooldown afterwards.
Of course this was obvious on the ptb. If only the designers played their own game they would know

Except Freddy was bad, he was the worst killer in the game until he got his rework.

tbf to old freddy. His old dream world was really strong. 50% action speed reduction and aura reading outside of Freddy's TR. Plus there were no alarm clocks to wake up to meaning 90% of the time survivors were waking up by failing skill checks which further reduced action progress.
He may have been the worst killer in the game, but his power had redeeming qualities to it. There's nothing Trickster's power has that justifies how weak he is overall.

I just think tricksters power is so useless in a chase you're better off M1 them. Main event might be decent but you still have to build it up. Hutress and gunslinger are better because you don't have to hit them 8 times just to cause damage.

Laceration meters reset after hooking. I don't which live killer was worst. Trickster or old Freddy.

I think they genuinely believe he is like S-tier strong, that is why they nerfed him after PTB by giving a cooldown after main event... and weakening add-ons... but please improve in relevant way. Playing Trickster is morally depressing right now.

that main event is so laughable, activates (on its own) and they run behind something, so you cancel it and get slowed...

It is reasonable to say he is weak but everyone saying he needs insane reworks to make him better is a little silly. I've said it a lot but he could have just some number changes like no sway or recoil while throwing, and make laceration work better and I don't think he would be awful. I want to love every killer in this game, but I believe they made him basic and didn't make many changes to attract more of the Korean fan base, and after awhile they will buff him better.

Not only is his power weak in terms of getting downs, but it also has no depth or skill curve to it. It's just spamming knives till you're lucky enough to injure or down someone.

Main event was worse in PTB, In PTB, you could not cancel it, so you could loop a rock and he was forced to stay in it. Trickster is weakest killer in history of DBD. He is like perfect April fools joke by the devs. So many variables need changing for him, so much so that he almost needs rework for how many changes he needs.
- Knife damage is too low, takes too many hits to down.
- He spends too long in throwing form because it takes so many knives to down.
- He has to use main event or lose it. Fomo - the idea of missing out on something
- Every blade that is not the 8th blade has no impact - Sunken cost fallacy
Until all those problems are solved, he will remain a joke. If I had to make a changes to improve him. I'd do following
- Reduce blade count from 8->6 needed to injure
- Increase his movement speed from 92% in throw mode to 105% and remove slowdown from throwing knives consecutively
- Remove the timer for activating main event. Main event can be activated by pressing secondary power when fully charged.
- Remove Laceration decay timer, Laceration reduction on M1 and Laceration reset on other survivors when hooking a survivor.
that is just scratching surface of his problems. He also has some joke add-ons, like his irisdecent Photo Card makes his knifes unable to down you and turns you into a 110% Instant down killer. Like do they not know that M1 killers are a joke? 110% even more so.

Yeah, I play mostly survivor, and unfortunately no one is playing Trickster atm as I can see today, I have only ran across one so far and that was the first game I played. Maybe people are practicing in private lobbies instead

The only thing that keeps me going is the thought of the army of individuals who are sitting there...dressed as the killer...trying to play as him..and it's sinking in how crap he is.

He is not bad. Killers are not used to him yet. Everyone thought Deathslinger was really bad when he first came out. Once the masters learned his aim, he is deadly.

As an Old Freddy main, I guarantee you would. Old Freddy was a very underrated killer, and quite deadly once you managed to master his unique playstyle.
Trickster has nothing, other than a very weak power and "Main Event", which isn't even threatening.

Let’s not have revisionist history here about old Frederick. He was my first p3 and I enjoyed playing him, but let’s not confuse nostalgia with lethality. How many times were you in endgame with a player on the hook helplessly watching an unhook waiting for transition because you didn’t have U/Z block equipped this game. Same scenario with last gen on like 97% and you can’t stop the repair.
don’t get me wrong, running remember me, getting your stacks, killing the obsession, getting everyone in dream, and grabbing a 6 pack of beer while it too 3 days to open the door was hella satisfying.
i wish he was still in the game as he was my favorite killer of all time, but some of the comments regarding him make me 4head at times.

I mean, old freddy lacked an instadown in the dreamworld. It would have made sense too, first part of the chase he spends time dragging you into his world, second part of the chase he downs you.

Oh, a fellow Old Freddy player, I see. Well, I cannot deny that nostalgia does affect my opinion towards my old main, but sometimes I feel like people don't give him enough credit. Yes, he was not the best killer in the game and situations like the ones you've described happened way too often. There is a reason why I always had block add-ons with me.
However, that doesn't mean he was as bad as most people say he was. He had his strengths, and honestly all he required were a few buffs and QoL adjustments, not a full rework. I also want him back, and no matter how many times people tell me he won't return I refuse to give up hope.
And if we stick to the actual topic of this thread, I believe we all agree that Trickster is WAY worse than Old Freddy.

Maybe he just struggles playing survivor. Trickster escaping the trickster might be too hard for him. Lost cause.

Ah, how can we forget good old Class Photo and Paint Thinner? I particularly enjoyed running Pill Bottle as well. I've lost count of how many free hits I got because survivors couldn't see me during the transition.

literally only new people and content creators are intristed in this chapter you have 4 almost 5 pages of feed back on this page almost unanimously agreeing that trickster is garbage.
Been playing him all day in pub and have yet to get a 4k but I play 1 huntress game 3 dead at 4 gens I let the last one escape.

Yeah... he is definitely a killer for newer players. I have only gotten killed by the Trickster once out of 5 games and that's because he was always near the hook until I died
