SWF Isnt Fun for Survivor Either

By that I mean if there is a 3 man SWF and you are the odd man out well it sucks to be you. Just had a match with a Twitch streamer and his three friends. Saved them multiple times and healed them, but then they all left immediately once the exit gates were open and didn’t wait for me. I died. They could have waited and saved me and helped but nope. Only worried about themselves. I hopped into their chat and it basically boiled down to me being disposable. They lied and said “I thought you were right there!” What a load of crock. I wish it notified everyone when it’s a SWF. Cause even as Survivor I don’t want to play with them.

Best I can offer is if I'm in a three man and the one that joins, should they also be on Xbox, we invite them to chat. Whether they accept or not I do not consider them expendable and will get them out if I can. This can be at times unpopular with my team depending on how they view "their contributions and play" all very subjective to be sure. I still try. I wish it was easier to get comms with all platforms.

Sadly I’m in PS4 or else you sound like a very good teammate.

If the gap for solos wasn't so dang huge, and those sweatball 0.5% squads weren't an issue it wouldn't be so bad.

I rarely dc or suislide on out myself, but I see it all too much at Red ranks.

My group always tries to help out randos, there's very few niche scenarios when we won't. (Facecamping Bubba without BT, Trapper/Hag's Basement, or the Survivor straight up throwing/Farming us most the game.)

Sounds like you just got unlucky with your SWF group you played with. There's plenty of fun and good ones out there. I've played with some really funny ones as a Solo. The only ones that have really ever bugged me are the ones that throw for an Archives Challenge- but tbh some Archives Challenges practically require it or you're going to be running some of those perks for the next ten years, so I can't even be mad about it. More so a complaint about how some archive challenges are set up then SWFs.

Had this happen a few times but the best feeling in this game is when you get hooked right as the gates open and you see three yellow players coming right for you to save. I fortunately see this happening more often. Watch tonight I die more with no help LOL.

seems like the only solution is to remove SWF since it ruins killers AND solos.

why are we catering to 10% of the game population?

I just don't see how you can remove swf when friends can still communicate through other devices.

Last stats they put out about the subject had around half of all total survs in at least a two-man SWF. Way too many to remove the mode I would think.

So then why not just limit SWF to 2 instead of 4.

2 is more fair than 4.

SWF is fun if you're actually playing for fun and not sweating.

I pretty much only play solo, had a couple groups I used to play with but they either fizzle out and only play here or there or they completely move on to another game. Playing solo my main goal is me but I'm down to make a last minute suicide play with BT or take aggro when needed. When my friends used to play we were usually in a three man and two of us would always go to make sure the non member of our party got out unless they had been sandbagging or farming the whole game.

Just had another match with a three man SWF and me being the odd one out. I saved them multiple times. One person had never been hooked. They just did their gens and tbagged at the exit gates and left. Didn’t even try to save me and they easily could have.

I think survivors are starting to hide they are SWF cause they know killers will dodge them. I had a four man SWF on PS4 and usually it tells me if they are in a party. This time it hid it.

These SWF "teams" really REALLY arent all they are cracked up to be. Had a three man team last night doing their strategy in the chat before the game and I sat there reading. They never included me or asked anything so I did my part in the game, saved two of them, taken aggro twice, and did two gens myself. Even went for the last min save all the way to the other side of the open gate to save one before going out the gate. Not one thank you, or anything,,,not even a gg. Most of these players are punk kids and/or babies in adult bodies. But in the obverse they can be very selfish and toxic. The next game had a two man SWF and they were the last two left near the gate when I was on the hook and just stood there and the killer wasnt camping that hard. I always go for the save, always,, esp if its the Trickster because even at close range you can make the save if you maneuver right and fast. Some dont even bother,,makes you not want to play.

The solution is not to remove SWF. SWF isn’t bad. People are.

I have played against many chill SWF teams that didn’t try to ruin my enjoyment nor played excessively sweaty, there’s no reason to keep people from having fun with friends.

The problem here are those teams that absolutely need to win and will exploit everything in the game (and outside since I got ddossed more than once) to do so.

In other words, the problem here is the people treating DbD like it’s some competitive esport. It’s not. The solution is easy: kill the genrush so that a coordinated team can’t achieve its goal in 1/5 the time 4 solos need.

That’s the only way, but the devs won’t listen 🤷🏻‍♂️

SWF can leave me to die. That's fine; and for any reason they please, too.

Just don't have your friends spectate me and tell you which locker I'm hiding in while waiting for hatch because the trial is clearly a wash, only for them to beckon the killer and point at my locker.
