Exposed needs a rework due to never ending status effects/abuse of status effect

edited April 2021 in Feedback and Suggestions

i was matched with a killer who used multiple exposed status perks, including Starstruck, agitation, haunted grounds, and dragon's grip

these combinations of perks allow the killer to rapidly down survivors with the help of agitation, and I believe this is a form of abuse from the exposed mechanic itself

when I was in a match the exposed status effect ALWAYS overwrites the already existing exposed status effect duration, and I don't know if this is a bug or not but assuming it is when I got exposed status effect from starstruck during an exposed status effect that almost expires, the status effect will continue to persist even after the status effect expires due to the status effect reset

i suggest applying a cooldown mechanic specifically to the exposed status effect like a survivor can get another exposed status effect ONLY after a certain amount of cooldown/seconds or change how long exposed status effect can occur because I don't feel like this is fair, I'm thinking of 15 seconds or 20 for the cooldown or whatnot, but this needs to change, of course, I don't think this cooldown mechanic will be necessary to be applied on to unique killer abilities such as Myers or Ghostface since it's their specialty, but I hope you guys get the point

Dragon's Grip and Starstruck each individually have their own cooldowns. Haunted Grounds is a one time use without Undying.

I don't see an issue with a killer making a build around expose status as it means they are lacking tracking perks and slowdown perks.

i do see your point and it can be seen as balancing their loadout, but in higher ranks, killers are usually so good that tracking perks are not necessary, and slowdown perks is not an issue when the killer can rapidly down survivor.

thank you for the feedback though!

yes i do see your point being balanced and thank you for the feedback, though in higher rank killers are so good that tracking perks aren't necessary and slowdown perks won't be needed when survivors are getting downed rapidly

this may not be a problem to lower ranks but this is a problem in higher ranks, especially the pro killers

Haunted Grounds is single use for 60 seconds. Killer has 0 control of when it's activated so unless they have someone right in front of them odds are the timer will run out before they find anyone.

Dragons Grip should only surprise you once. If you wait for killer to move away from area before you tap it you should have time to move somewhere else when killer comes back to check on gen. They will have a cool down that lasts longer than your exposed status so it's not like they can keep you exposed indefinitely.

Starstruck like Dragons Grip should only surprise you once. At that point just don't be in the killers face when they pick someone up.

Agitation only increases the killers speed while they are carrying someone, the only perk this could help is Starstruck but even then the survivor they are carrying could wiggle free if killer is trying to instadown someone else instead of hooking the survivor.
