Self care + resilience

Is this a good combo? I know self care is hated because it takes twice as long but... You can heal yourself theoretical infinite times. Also with resilience it's a bit faster and you can 99% all the time to have the 9% speed boost.

It’s much better to run Self Care with Botany Knowledge.

Self Care/Botany Knowledge is far better, especially with something as simple as a brown medkit.

I don’t know why it is hated, i could think of at least 2-3 games every day where I’d die without it but survive instead because I’ll be able to heal in a critical situation.

Btw, Botany Knowledge provides a bigger boost to healing, but Resilience boosts your vaulting speed too. Honestly try one then the other then both and see what’s best for you.

If I am going to run Self-Care then def Botany goes well with it! Botany gives you so much more of a cure rush than Resilience even though you can use Resilience in different scenarios.

It's not a bad combo, but I'd much prefer running Resilience alone with or without a med-kit. Hell, Pharmacy with Resilience would be an overall better combo because green med-kits are stronger than SC despite it being a one-time use, and with Resilience it's 89% (80 from Pharmacy) faster to open chests while injured.

Also in your situation, SC + Desperate Measures (+14% faster speed for healing and altruistic actions for your injured status up to +56% depending on each survivor being injured, hooked or downed)/Botany Knowledge (always 33% for healing) would be WAY better.

I use this combo. I also throw on For The People.

Its frowned upon but I play Solo and everybody gunna die anyway, or farm each other, or just play poorly.

Might as well do what I like.

I’m not the best at chases so I use FTP to self injure myself, instead of waiting for a hook or testing the killer. Then I wait out broken status, 99 myself and knock out gens. If I feel it’s necessary, I’ll Heal that 1% before a chase or when I see a FTP play needs to happen.

Do I sometimes screw myself? Sure, but I’ve also had games where I made great FTP saves and still could power through gens fast.

Anyway, just letting you know your not the only one using it~

Self Care on its own is a great Perk. The problem are some people using Self Care. There have been situations where I would have been happy to have it, but I am not running Self Care. There is also nothing wrong with healing yourself when it is smart.

The people who heal themselves against Sloppy Butcher in a corner while two people are on the hook are those who give Self Care a bad reputation. And those are not rare at all.

9% alone is nothing, slap on botany knowledge and self care will actually be viable. better yet, replace resilience with desperate measures

I do that sometimes. 99 the heal usually pair it with prove thyself or spinechill and an exhaustion perk. Work through a gen, killer comes, sprint burst away and finish the heal. It's a fun build.

Its hated due to many of those who run it and refuse to not use it when they are injured. The number of times I've tried to heal someone off hook with Medkit + Botany + We'll Make It who just run off to Self Care behind a rock have been to numerous to count.

Besides you're better off taking a medkit over Self Care. You shouldn't be healing yourself too much each match as it turns into a huge time sink especially when using Self Care. 🤷‍♀️

First part, okay I see that. People are the problem in that case, not the perk itself; I disagree on the second part. As I said, there are MANY times where self care makes the difference between life and death, even if you have a medkit (which will have double uses if you bring SC, btw). It’s all about the end game. One or two people hooked, exit gates 99ed and the other two/the last one injured, killer patrolling between two hooks. Medkit is usually over at that point, and Franklin is a common choice. This is just an example of a VERY common scenario where self care + borrowed can get three people to safety, while without it it’s two people dead. SC is a great perk, people should just stop abusing it when there’s no need to.

You can theoretically heal an infinite amount of times, or you can just work on a generator and leave the trial 1 time.
