To the people that want SWF removed/nerfed
Look, I get it, it can be frustrating going against a team that has an advantage as big as being able to communicate. Trust me, I’ve had my fair share of frustrating moments as killer. However, that doesn’t mean it’s the right move to gut SWF.
I would assume that the majority of people that are for a SWF nerf enjoy killer. Well, if you take away the feature of playing with friends, then it will eventually reach a point where there will be no more killer gameplay to enjoy. Why? Because part of the reason of DBD’s success is being able to play with friends. If you take that away, a lot of survivors will just quit the game, killer que times will be super long, and DBD’s death will come sooner rather than later.
A much better solution to fixing the issues SWF has would be to buff solo q and to buff all the killers that need one. Maybe even give every killer something they can do to traverse the map faster and more precisely. There’s a lot that needs to be done to balance everything out but butchering SWF is not the answer to it.

Oh no, another 123123132131th time how SWF shouldn't be nerfed.
Devs promised to do something about SWF issue 4 years ago and nothing was done ever since.
All devs did was to add perks that give solo survivors abilities SWF get for free, which means BHVR gives zero ######### about SWF and it being OP.

Most serious people know we don't need a SWF nerf, but we need Solo buffs and then Killer buffs.
A Killer like Legion can do alright against Solo's, but against SWF he suffers greatly.

Pig too. That’s one of the reasons Pig has on of the highest kill rates because most solo q’s have no idea what to do against Pig. They don’t 99 gens to avoid the traps from activating because there’s no communication.

I agree tbh, if solo queue gets buffed along with all killers' kits (movement speed, cooldown, etc.) getting buffed to balance it out, I think SWF will be fine.
I don't want SWF nerfed, but I do want solo queue to be buffed.

People are not complaining about people playing with friends, people are complaining about the advantage you get for free because you are playing in premade and how the game is not balanced around such advantage.

Scott Jund had an idea where you can communicate with teammates through a chat where there are limited things to communicate. Things like “I’ll get the save,” “My gen is almost done,” and “Killer is on me.”

Dbd mobile has very nice bot AI, I don't think it would be very hard to educate it a little bit more and add into KYW mode to substitute missing survivor and killer players.
Then I wouldn't mind allowing people to earn bloodpoints and have progression in KYW mode
After that I'd gladly delete SWF from normal queue, regardless of how long killer or survivor queues will be after that.
If people want to have fun with friends, they can have all of it playing against bots and not people majority of which are not having fun when matched with SWF. We've seen how good bots can be in games like Dota2 if enough effort is put in this, so there would be no issue in having difficult games.
Then we can talk about balancing stuff.

Not killers would be very predictable if we are going off dbd mobile standards
It wouldn’t really be fun either since every killer AI would play the same. All clowns would use bottles the same way. All PH’s would use POTD at the same time. All deathslinger’s would shoot at the same area every tile.
It would get stale and remove the human on human action aswell as be a kick in the head to any killers who like fighting SWF (which there are)

Honestly even though I am a killer main that thinks SWF is pretty OP I have the complete opposite idea. Since stopping people playing with friends is a really stupid idea just buff the ######### out of solo Q(my idea was a ping system, voice, text, mapwide bond and aura perks are shared) then just buff the ######### out of killers. This game is in a bad position as it is neither balanced around solo or SWF its desperatly trying to do both and failing miserably so neither is balanced. Just decide you want to balance around SWF and buff everything up to that level

Also if you think about if you buff solo queue then it makes it more appealing and people won't see swf as a need.
Me (and I'm going to assume a lot other people) play swf not just because it's funner to play friends but because its not a almost complete lost for them. Playing in a swf feels like you actually have a chance. So buffing solo would definitely help more people play solo. I know I would play solo more if it was better.

BHVR wouldn't be able to get the bots to a level where there is any kind of meaningful challenge so that isn't going to happen. Bots are simply mobiles way to trying to provide some cover for when a player disconnects. It's a welcome band aid, but a band aid none the less.
SWF will never get removed either so the idea of that happening is laughable. They've already said previously they want to close the gap between SWF and solo before they'll even consider looking at buffing killers across the board. This is the only viable method that doesn't involve them killing the game outright or severely hurting the playerbase.
Otherwise I could just see it now "come play our game, where playing with your friends is banned and soloq is a miserable experience. But don't worry, we have bots!" Yeah, that'll go down well with the community /s We already had this problem in the past where people were lobby dodging to try and get into the same game as their friends. The devs have got no interest in going down that road again, so the only (and most practical way forward) is to buff soloq and improve matchmaking before looking at balancing.

I liked Scott Jund’s idea where the teammates communicate through a text system that has the options of what to communicate limited. It fixes the lack of communication issue and it won’t be too OP.

I don’t think so as in solo q it’s still randoms you’re playing with. It does solve a lot of the frustrations of solo q and it won’t be too strong imo.

In Scotts video there is nothing thats meant for the killers to compensate and its still much worse than a SWF. The issue lies in it not being too OP. SWF is OP so if you every want solo to reach that levels it also needs to be OP thats why killers also need to be buffed to be OP aswell as solo. If everything is OP nothing will be OP anymore.

I liked that idea but I would also like a system like in the game white noise 2. Sure it's not a popular game but that doesn't mean it doesn't do things right.
In white noise 2 the survivors would speak and communicate to each other to (not voice chat) using a set text system. the downside of using it though it that it also reveals your location to the killer so it was balanced.

That’s a pretty interesting concept. Maybe DBD can do something like that. Not sure how it will work maybe they get one of those scream bubbles that reveal their location when they do communicate.

I hope solo queue gets buffed to SWF-tier so it's more fun to play.

The thing is, DBD is "balanced" around 4 solo survivors and the killer. That is why we have perks that give the player select amounts of information, such as Bond and Alert.
That is precisely why SWF is an unsolvable problem. The lack of information is built into the core of the game and using comms is a huge advantage, where it shouldn't be. In order to balance it, we would have to buff solo q and then buff pretty much the entire killer roaster, which is not a good idea, in my opinion.

To me, solo is the most fun when you’re new to the game because it feels like a horror experience. Once you have like 100 hours in the game, that aspect goes away and you start caring more about doing well and grinding the characters. It can get very frustrating in solo q when the randoms keep making you depip and get no playing time to get better at the game. That’s why I think being able to communicate while killers are more powerful than they are now would be good for the game.

Give solo survivors more perk slots for information perks and then adjust the difficulty overall to bring the killer experience more in line

Actually what we need is for them to balance SWF without changing Perks (as that impacts Solo more). What they need to do is either:
- Separate Solo and SWF Ques to change the objectives to balance.
- And/or unlock additional Perk Slots for the Killer if/when they face a SWF.
- And if necessary require an additional Objective for SWF, like an extra Gen.

Yep I hate going against SWF. But there is literally nothing they could do about. I have friends who only play this game with other friends. They never touch the game solo. So I'm positive there is a lot of people who would not touch this ever again, if they could not play with their friends. And think a multiplayer game that did not allow friends, yeah some people would never play this again. When I play as killer, if I think it's SWF, I simply just find another lobby, that's what I do.

If you ask me, the options are
- The "close the gap approach", however that's done. No matter how the idea is to change the assumed level of efficiency that is balanced around.
- Keeping it like it is.
I find it extremely hard to even imagine the devs considering any other option. Doesn't matter if we're talking about the quite honestly delusional pipe dreams that are removing SWF or using magic to stop people from talking, or the less extreme stuff like mechanical nerfs or seperate queues.

Give Solo's the info SWF gets by default.
- Knowledge of who is being chased.
- Knowing what gens people are working on.
- Knowing whether or not the Killer is camping.
To name a few. Get those things to solo's, then we buff Killer's.
Separating the queue's will do NOTHING good for this game. No Killers will choose to play with SWF.

Statistically, SWF has hardly higher winrates.
Genrushing is not fun at all but it shows how OP killers are. Anything less results in a 4K.

When going against a SWF, killers should get a 20% BP bonus. Problem solved. Comms straight up negate many killer powers/perks and addons. 20% and we're even.
Solo survivor should probable get a bonus as well.

I just don't understand why I get thrown in with SWF groups myself. I'm a solo player, it's going to be rare that I ever have my friends playing this game with me given our schedules and whatnot. The game should understand that if I just go to jump into a match I'm playing by myself and should be teamed with other solos. It's best for everybody.
