Breakdown squads
I just had a game against a 4man breakdown squad and by the end of it there wasn't a single hook on the map besides basement hooks.
(For those of you who dont know breakdown is currently glitched and breaks hooks indefinitely)

This breakdown issue is getting out of hand. They need to do something immediately.

I thought it just made hooks break for twice as long, not for the whole match.

Since it's a survivor perk, expect them to do something next chapter. They need to have their fun for a while before they get it fixed.

They aren't going to patch this today or tomorrow, so idk why people are proliferating this info so MORE people bring Breakdown. And it won't be bannable, at least not until they announce using it as of that point is an offense. They aren't going to retroactively ban people for simply using a perk.

Yes an add-on, I believe they did the same thing with The Legion. However when killer perks have been problematic, I don't remember them issuing any bans? It seems to be they only bans for add-ons versus perks.

It’s pathetic that when a potentially game breaking bug is discovered the first thing that the DBD community does it spread it around and exploit it for the lols.

BHVR need to step the ######### up and tell people immediately what to not do and the consequences of doing it whenever a bug like this goes around. The News section in the game and all forums is there for a reason, not just to tell people about the next cosmetic drop.
Ignoring it they are offhandedly telling everyone that they are allowed to exploit the issue in the game, and the same is true for everything else that has happened and that will happen.
It seriously cannot be that hard to disable perks. They already have that for offerings and the excuse that it’s ‘already built in to only those offerings’ is feeble because that literally screams “We don’t know how to fix our game so deal with it.”

they don't ban for perks. add-ons and perks are two different things.
they also have been requested to ban for the pallet-no-stun-bug, however refuse to do that one too.

Next chapter is in June btw so sooner than that and if it gets out of hand they may disable the perk like they did the bouquet offerings

To be fair though imagine a person picking up nurse (the nurse addon didnt have a warning on the game) for the first time and just get banned before they even knew what they did. Sucks for them for cheating i guess.

I've been playing a LOT of Survivor to try and finish my Rift (I did all the Killer ones early) so I haven't seen this bug in action yet. I suppose I could tap into my Scrooge McDuck vault and start using some of the 300+ Tombstone Pieces.... or 300+ Judith's Tombstones for laughs. Hook you? Why on earth would I hook you?

i agree they shouldve put an in-game warning on it, but I just want to show the distinction that they've never banned for perks, just add-ons.

True, but all this debate aside, if this bug is real, they need to disable the Perk as an option until the fix it. They disabled an entire map, Mother's Dwelling, for far less.

I hadn't see that post yet, and I'm glad we agree. I haven't even run into it yet and it sounds horrible. I think I'm going to start using my plethora of Tombstone Pieces and Judith's Tombstones... just bringing them along just in case I see anyone try to pull it. :)

i havent encountered this guys so far, i think once, if they do have it then just try to ignore that survivor and go for others or slug said survivor.

I had no idea about this but it jives with what I saw the other day when I did the "break 4 hooks" challenge and didnt see them respawn at all.

I highly doubt there were only 8-12 hooks in the map. If anything, they got rid of MAYBE a third of them if the map was small.

Can someone explain why abusing bugged add-ons is bannable but not perks? I genuinely want to know the reasoning behind it.

This. It's like the trying to unhook self just before rescue thing - I never saw it, people started making posts complaining about it and now it's every match. I've personally not had anyone running Breakdown in my lobbies, I've just seen posts here talking about the bug.

One of the Mods said its because the game can still end. They have said it isnt bannable and to not report it🤷♀️

I just don't know why the devs have never considering figuring out how to disable gamebreakingly bugged perks/addons. Since they need to be able to do so without putting out a patch.

It's actually ridiculous that after this has happened before they still haven't implemented a way to disable perks and add-ons until they eventually fix it. Alongside making it clear that there'll be no consequence for using bugged perks the message might as well be "don't worry, go have some fun with it while you can"

They have atleast a way to disable addons. They disabled some event-addons.

The event addons don't get disabled until the next patch drops.
Right now I don't believe bhvr has a way to disable addons or perks without a patch. They can disable maps because the check is on their end so they don't need to send out a patch to everyone to disable a map.
